In the UNC/Syracuse game, on the blocked punt/run by the punter, the yellow line on the tv broadcast was a yard and a half ahead of the actual first down line. It was a first down, and that's why it was not overturned. What the refs were supposed to do, however, is actually bring out the chains from the other side of the field. It also should have been a targeting call. The defender hit helmet to helmet, and actually bent the facemask of the punter to prove it. That too should have been reviewed and applied, but it wasn't.

Daniels was just horrible at AsU and the talent upgrade LSU could be the reason in some eyes, Penix same situation with and both have alot of games in college also so they are considered as “ a college player” not to translate to the nfl
@@JayTravy Horrible? He was 8-5 his freshman year with 3 wins over ranked teams including a huge upset of #6 at the time Oregon. He had more wins over ranked teams in his freshman year than Caleb Williams has had his entire college career. That sounds pretty good to me 😂

I’m an Ohio State fan, so I don’t have a dog in this fight…. Drake Maye is a great QB, and looks like an NFL passer… He also doesn’t want to have a team give him 10% ownership if they draft him… Caleb Williams plays in the PAC12 where there is basically no defense. He showed against a good defense (Notre Dame) he struggled… and Notre Dame isn’t an NFL team… He is great, and fundamentally sound, but he needs to carve up a great defense to make me a believer, if I’m gonna give him 10% stake in my team… Bo Nix and Michael Penix are the same way, they look great, but put them up against a team that has a defense and see how they fare. I think Notre Dame would beat the entire PAC12, I think the same for Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, and that’s not a knock on them, I just think their conference makes them look better than what they are…

There’s a lot of Questions around Caleb Williams, and how he was coddled by everyone telling him how great he is, but he didn’t show up in any big games this year, and was outplayed by Bo Nix, Michael Penix, Shadeur Sanders, and Cam Reising, in his own conference…. Understandable. Drake represents the prototypical quarterback for all scouts - tall, strong armed white kid who is the quintessential pocket quarterback. Wouldn't be surprised if he's the top pick. A scout's and team's dream.
Playing well from the pocket is the most important thing for a QB. Not running, though maye runs as well as Williams and is a lot bigger.
Both have elite arms .but i like maye better imo...both could be good in da right schemes..

I mean, the way things are going this season, he may end up with Brian Daboll in New York next year. The Giants aren't getting the first overall pick, and he's certainly an upgrade from Daniel Jones... Just speculation from a frustrated fan. Don't read too much into it.

IF I let you get away with that line then we should be tagging the then these kids Caleb from the Bigger School also play with more 5 star talent around him, Drake Maye is elavating a team that wasn't expected to play as well as it has... At 6'1" I struggle greatly with the hype that he has generated as he is the 3rd kid coming from a Lincoln Riley system that has not produced a star yet exposed these system enhanced QB who have no shot at duplicating this on the next level...

These run first QBs are gonna be looked back as gimmicks and fads. They can't read a defense or progress through route trees. They make one read and then go into fancy panic mode. Their eyes go from looking down field to looking at incoming defenders. They run for first downs, making their fantasy owners happy. Defenses figure them out after year one and actually try to make these dudes pass, which is the one thing they are not good at. They also have the same short sheld life a RB has meaning none of them make it past year 6. None of them have won a Super Bowl. They are flashy gimmicks for high school and college fields. Their shine goes away when they reach the NFL talent. But hey, they are good for your fantasy team while they can still walk.

He’s good but come on he’s clearly #2. Williams reminds me of a bigger Kyler Murray, similar game and arm talent to Murray but not quite the athlete. Maye though He reminds me of a young Carson Palmer. Still if u take Maye over Williams u should be fired, and I’m saying that believing Maye likely will be an incredible NFL QB if he gets good coaching.

I am one of those scouts. I think there are more scouts who like Maye over Williams. I am sorry media . your attempt to make short QBs a thing has FAILED . For a decade the media has pushed for small QBs to take stage over taller better built QBs who in the past always stood before the short guys. Caleb Williams is 6' under 210 . He is the same as Bryce Young and because of his size is not the best qB in the NFL draft. Williams is the most overrated player in generations . Drake Maye is the stud. Williams is Alex Smith and Drake Maye is the Aaron Rodgers . Drake Maye is the best QB to come into the NFL SINCE Aaron Rodgers .

Stupid talk. Mindlessly dumb stuff by the Press and any head coach or GM who listened to them about Howell . The same is to be said about Drake Maye ! Drake is 2x better than Sam Howell . So you are looking at a TRUE generational QB on the path of greats like Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning and Joe Montana. Compare a 1st round QB to Sam Howell by the way in stats alone and you will see just how dumb these media minds are about college QB evaluations. This guys opinion about Drake is pointless . he has never watched Drake Maye play. That is the only thing that makes sense. People who talk about Drake as anything but the next GREAT NFL superstar QB are doing so because they do not actually scout and make opinions about players off popularity polls and only get info to report on prospects from other people who do put in the work . They then pick from the people who give them info and try to take their scouting reports and make them sound like their own ideas. So they ignore the scouting reports and turn to X for their opinions to become EDGY .
Anyone who is picked before Drake Maye is always going to be the team who missed on the next Superstar QB. For whatever reason the media wants to create a league where QB is devalued and it is NEVER going to be that way. There is no scheme that overshadows talent. This league will always be driven by the handful of great QBs and team who win without them are always going to be the outliers . The issue is to many in Football media are ex players who SUCKED in the NFL at QB or who did not play QB and are Jealous of the fame QBs get. This league has been transformed enough by the will of the media in 2023 . The want total control and will never get it. QBs will always be the driving force in the NFL . Not short QBs not Black QBs not anything the media wants more from the position beside epic smarts and exceptional ball skills . Only the largest QBs with the most talent between their ears that coordinate with the physical gifts they possess will dominate the league as it has always been and always will be. Media wants short QBs from backgrounds unlike the past QBs who have dominated the league to this point. Yes Black players are getting more shots at the QB spot and rightfully so. This hate for White successful people is the issue at the heart of this . For some reason Black QBs run smaller than White Qbs historically . Yes there are large Black QBs . Yes that does happen and is happening more an more but right now those bigger players who are also Black are trained to be other positions at the High School level because large Black men are better athlete's and can do the harder jobs in the NFL faster than any White big player has shown . This is not racism . This is the honest differences between Black and White people and it is a truth only weird people care about. Because of the Media being so focused on race they have pushed for less than prototypical body size QBs to be thrust higher on popularity in prospect ranking. Short QBs with no body mass keep finding their way to the top of the draft order despite decades of scouting information that resulted in knowing that 6'4'' 225 lbs is the optimal size for a NFL QB . These size rules for players at positions have been long established truths that the media has refused to understand because they do not care about a franchise being successful . They only want to make stories . They could care less what is optimal for a player and only want the social justice story side of things and they want White to never hold any position of power or greatness. This is called racism . They are making people believe racism is fine as long as it is directed at white players. The media is an evil .

I agree. And I don't think it's racism. Blacks are traditionally poorer and more apt to be involved in manual labor, working on farms and such, and whites have grown comfortable in their office jobs and are less inclined to want their kids to play football. Never draft a unc quarterback aka Drake Maye from a basketball school conference he is not accurate passer, but he is rated higher than Michael Penix Jr. Trust me teams are going to get burned like Mitch Trubisky did to the Chicago Bears. Michael Penix Jr the lefty pocket passer is a force to be reckoned with that teams don’t want to acknowledged for some odd reason that type of explosiveness can’t be taught and that big arm shut down opposing defenses and you got to respect those feet. Being under the tutelage of Warren Moon and Mark Brunell you can even argue that he should be the no.1 quarterback taken he can handle pressure better than Caleb Williams when it is coming up the middle.
