    The thing is the sound we get is as good as our devices return from your recording. Both have a slight distortion in the mid/bass range (from your record device) the best way to judge is, to give a pink noise to the speakers and to measure in frequencies, how much db return from a distance taken with a measurement device with a calibrated microphone. This kind of test (recording the sound with a telephone ar similar devices) are highly subjective. I definitely take the box pro dsp 115 with a pair of subs The Box Pyrit 212 SUB A. And a pair of The Box pro Dsp 112 for sides. The reviews are insane positive for the both subs and tops. As soon I get my set-up I will make a full review.

    Between any two loudspeakers I would always choose the one with the flattest frequency response and able to play linear down to at least 50 Hz.
    For the PA speaker individual loudness is not that important, because you can always daisy chain more speakers in order to increase the output level.

      @@crocker7687 If you know what you are doing, you will always use main speakers and subwoofers with built-in passtrrough connectors, to allow you to link (stack) as many loudspeakers as you need/want.
      And yes, I do choose main speakers able to play on their own down to at least 50 Hz, to use subwoofer only for the sub low frequencies starting at 60 Hz and down.
      Now, of you use consumer passive speakers, you find how many you want / need and choose the amplifier/amifiers able to drive them in series or parallel, according to your needs.
      It is simple: if you want big spl numbers, be prepared and willing to spend money. Otherwise, be content with what you have or what you can afford.

      Hey buddy. You can use a XLR or TRS cable to connect the speaker to your controller (for example a pioneer DDJ SZ, SX or Denon controller). A mixer is an extra external sound device (like the Alto 802) which you don’t need to buy when connecting the speaker to your controller.
      So in summary, you can connect the speaker directly to your DJ controller with a XLR or TRS speaker cable.
      Cheers mate,

    Do you know how The Box DSP 115 stands up against SubZero 15 DPS 1800watt peak?

    • @DjBlinkBlink
      @DjBlinkBlink  Před 4 lety +3

      I have never had a listen to the SubZero 15" speaker however I compared the specifications of both speakers online and I found the following information:
      1. Both have the same Max SPL (136dB)
      2. The Box DSP has a RMS of 350W but the SubZero has a RMS of 450W (the subzero is better here)
      3. The Box DSP has a power peak of 1400W but the SubZero has a power peak of 650W (the box is better here)
      4. The Box DSP comes with a 3 years warranty but the SubZero comes with 2 years warranty at best (The box wins this)
      5. The tweeter for the SubZero is 1.35" but the box is 1" in size (the subzero would have better highs when it comes to sound output, which means the Subzero wins this)
      Putting all these information into consideration, they are both "neck in neck" however without listening to the SubZero speaker and just using my past experience of The Box DSP 115, I would buy The Box DSP 115 over the Subzero speaker.
      Hope this helps mate.
      Cheers,

    • @DjBlinkBlink
      @DjBlinkBlink  Před 4 lety +3

      @@maxlarsen You are welcome mate. Now to answer your question..."on paper" the amplifier for the SubZero should give a higher 'continuous power' for the output more than The Box Pro. However, the SubZero would peak way before The Box Pro speaker (the 'limit light' would come on for the SubZero speakers before the box Pro speakers). So yes the SubZero "may" punch out more but you would have to keep an eye on the limit light for the amplifier.

      1. Yes, the bass (lows) for the ELX112P is clear and smooth.
      2. As per your question about "if the bass is on half", be aware you cannot adjust the bass at all from the back of the speaker. You can only increase or decrease the master volume or line in volume.
      3. The speaker is very light to carry and you would not even feel the weight at all.
      All in all, it is a good speaker if that is what you are aiming to buy, however you should be aware "The Box Pro" is just as good.
