In this video I discuss a match that of Terran vs Protoss from aLive's point of view. He's a very powerful Terran player, who executes a very clean build order and simply straight up wins the game.

That mine burrowing at the exact right time to take out the Oracle was simply genius.
It's so cool. Terran players have been doing that for a while at the highest level. It's insane. There's no way a Protoss can look at the Oracle the entire time it's flying. Very difficult to execute though.

I don't understand why they send it in a straight line, why not take a little tiny detour in one direction so it isn't obvious?
Can you not simply way point your oracle around it?

Same here haha. But yes, as Lowko mentioned, writing it yourself will help you remember it better (especially writing it by hand, this is proven).

I personally recommend the medivac into mine drop version of this first just because 4 min is around the time Protoss throws down gates to all in or a 3rd which is important to scout. (Masters Terran here)

what does he do with the widow mine's he's apparently constantly pumping out? I saw the middle one then just 3 that were moved along with his main army and burrowed at the enemy
I just downloaded SC2 today and played 4 matches against the AI. I can't wait to get good at it. I used to play Empire Earth and Age of Empires when I was real young.

This is a great build, but now that shield batteries have been added, it seems like two immortals with shield batteries would be a hard counter to this. And then it leaves you a base behind. How would you modify this build to account for shield batteries?

Important to note that he initially pauses marine production at 5 marines (just enough to kill an oracle) in order to start funding his extra 2 racks and engineering bay.

Fantastic video, Lowko. I have been struggling with TvP lately (win rate around 45%). Ill have to give this a shot! What are some ways that Protoss can respond/prevent to a build like this?
Christian TenHopen having an army at the ramp instead of going for early third base. the game ended when aLive scouted that third.
6 gates push would be pretty deadly, from 2 bases transitioning into later 3rd

Add a few marauders , while tanks shoot banes, move and split marines under steam pack, may be 1-2 thors for tanking in front as well. Depending on what minute

And what does the protoss do to defend?
So everyone says scouting is essential in high level play but he is not doing that at all, wtf? Can someone explain why he didn't scout? Should we just follow this build and not worry about the opponent?

As terran it's an autowin, because you can fly your buildings away from the cannons until your siege tanks arrives.

So I have a question.. I just started playing this again after a VERY long hiatus. I tried this build and immediately ran into problems. The problem being, there doesn't seem to be a lot of maps like this one. Most entrances to your secondary base have much larger ramps. In short, you can't just block them off with one barracks and 2 supply depots. This throws off the whole build's timing since I have to build other things to close off the entrance (generally I use supply depots). It takes much longer to close off bigger entrances. I know it's probably a noob question, but after 9 yrs of not playing, and now learning this game is all about hot keys and control groups (another thing I'm totally not used to), It's readily apparent that I have once again dropped to noob status... Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thx
If you are playing in ranked, on every map that you play on, you can wall your 1st base with at least 1 barracks and 2 depot. Sometimes with 1 barrack, 1 depot and the reactor from your barrack close the wall. take the time to think for 2 seconds where you need to place you barracks, and always leave space for your reactor/tech lab. Did I answer your question ?

After seeing that fucking amazing Oracle kill with the Widow Mine, I think I can safely say I will never be as confident as Alive.
very nice build, i did it i held 2 proxy oracle followed by stalker void all in, i could do it cuz after i held i sent 2 medivacs to harass i kept him very bussy meanwile i was massing army

How ot counter? - Just scout it and build units? (no 3rd base then)
Falblinger I think protoss would just cancel third and throw down a bunch of units if there's no natural by 6 minutes, but idk

My weakest matchup is agaisnt terran as protoss since in all 7 games they turtle with tanks on a ramp and no matter how many upgrades I get and how many voidrays and collosi I make they end up winning with still half their army, some advice please.
Adept drops in the mineral lines, tanks won't be able to defend the scvs and by the time the terran army comes to defend you should have killed about 7-8 workers and escaped to drop in the second base or just return to base.
Did this, every single Protoss just do 4 gates or rush Colossus or just rush HT with storms, need help
