Looks delicious. I honestly was just going to skip to the parts I needed to watch but it looked so good I watched all the way through. Good video
They do look delicious, I have to try to make them. Thanks for detailed instructions.!
To change things up, you can add 1/2 teaspoon of dried cilantro, 1 teaspoon of tomato paste, and 1/2 teaspoon of white sugar. Instead of frying them, put them on a parchment paper lined tray, brush them with an egg wash, and bake them at 400° for 22 minutes.
You're a good cook and teacher, thank you.

My coworkers pay me every now and then. Love this simple recipe. A definite win for party scenes, ball games, or just a good appetizer or snack.
nice
Thank you bro!!
My new boss wants me to learn about our food.
I do not disappoint!
This is the best empanada video I have seen. I'm making these tonight. Thank you!
love your channel I'm making these tonight.gracias
Thanks for the post. I used to overfill and had trouble keeping empanada dough closed well before frying. BTW, the ingredients are just perfect.
Definitely not how my mother makes it haha. She makes the meat and vegetables and meat together in a pot. We would also use sofrito, sazon, adobo. Also we use the orange disks, but add cheese for a nice flavor. I enjoy more cheese than most lol.
@@rosario19411 - you don't own the monopoly on being Mexican.....the best Mexican food I have eaten was made by my white coworker....and I am Mexican!

It's actually originated in Argentina, and traditionally uts made many ways , also have different meats/veggies stuffed in them throughout the country
@@inigopetersen2486 lol.. its not a Mexican thing traditionally, it's an Argentina, either way it's made many ways there and of course great foods spread around and many uses their own twists, still delicious.. but I did understand what you were saying though
My family is Puerto Rican and we make it the same way you described, as well. Never put cheese in it but that sounds tasty!!
THANK YOU! Enjoyed the video. This was helpful.
u break it down perfectly
Looks BANGING, thanks for sharing
they looked gorgeous! the beef mixture was on point especially with the cumin I would have added some more peppers in there cuz I like the spicy I like it hot hot hot!!! you fried them to a delicious golden brown bam! very well done Mijo💚💛🌈👍👍👍
Thank you for the lesson!!!
Nice instructions. I usually add hard boiled eggs and green olives. They add great flavor and color to the meat.
My gf from argentina says this is how they are made back in her home. I'll try next time
This is how a coworker would make hers, with hard boiled egg and green olives deeelicoius omgoodness!!
My gosh this looks so good..

Great video and channel! Subbed!
I love your dish that has the vegetables written in Italian...
Love these
The comments are annoying the title says EASY EMPANADA RECIPE... I’m excited to make my own soon!
I make mine with ground pork and ground meat sweet baby peppers and don’t forget the sazon!! The best spice ever, it’s little packets of seasoning by Goya. I also add a little shredded cheese inside and I use the orange dough discs! But so many ways to make them! Yes deep fried is best!!
Thanks yours is the best site.
Just a small tip..
When cutting onions start at the bottom and do not cut the rooty part that looks like the top
I guarantee you will not cry...remember do not cut the bottom part with those things like roots that is the secret and no tears and just bin the rolt part when finished
I like crying when I cut onions! Put onions in frig I heard.
drain the grease from the meat❤
mercedes gonzalez Fat is Flavor, This is why the meat isn't drained, but if you are on a diet or want to make it a healthier dish, then by all Means, you can drain some of the fat, That should lower the calorie intake, and if you bake them, you are making it even more healthier.
Lol
You don’t suppose to drain it . Just get 90 % or more lean. That little bit of fat is what give the empanadas that wonderful flavor.
that meat looked lean enough that his seasonings soaked up most of what was there are formed a nice flavorful glaze
Yes!!! Always drain the meat.
They turned out pretty
Yummy, yum! Doing the air fryer way.
Waving to you from south Georgia-land of best Peaches, boiled Peanuts, & Vidalia onions!
; )
Yummy, thank you
Thanks
Esto no es real empanadas, pero esto se ve bien 😊 buen provencho!
why would you put the spices in after you brown the meat? I would have mixed it in when the meat was still browning so it mixes in well.
he did the meat was still a bit raw
ewww who does it this way l0l
Javier Serrano White people 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Stephanie Soto he must not drain the grease 🤣
I'm on my way 🏃🏽♀️
OMG! Finally, someone who cooked this dish RIGHT. I have seen several videos here on CZcams where people cook the veggies and then mix raw meat with the cooked veggies. You stole my heart when you cooked the meat by itself. Moma ain't mad atcha!!
This in my home would be the adult version but since I am making these for my son (12) I put peas, carrots and corn pieces in them so he can have his veggie servings since he is not a fan of veggies except broccoli... Another thing I sometimes add to change the recipe sometimes is add cut up olives and it gives it a great taste....another thing that I make with leftover dough is I slit two holes in the dough and I fry them and then eat them with honey or syrup depending on what you like and they come out really good ,in my opinion 😊
Hmm hmm good 😋
when making food always take a bit or eat at end cuz...its just a great closing move
Nice Job!'
Good stuff, very similar to my taco meat.
In New Mexico USA
We would have put shredded cheese in this too.
Potatoes maybe? Yes?
they look sooooo good!!! can you tell us where you purchased the enpanada discs? I live in Arizona.
The Salgado's Found mine (same Goya discs) at a Mexican Supermarket
I also live in Arizona and l have seen the disks sold in Fry's supermarket in the refrigerated section. They are Goya brand.
Margo Gil thanks i already found them the other day at Ranch Market for $1.69 sooo cheap! lol and they came out delicious!
Would a deep basket fryer work?
Looks tasty
Try it. With some soya sauce and Worcester sauce and oyster sauce it’s the bomb!!!
Ohhh Goya. Ok. Usually I use masa hernia but I can’t get it crispy enough to my liking. I’ll try goya
Those look delicious yell pro
Looks great!
Could you tell me how can I get pastry turn over dough?
You can get empanada discs at either a latin market, or even walmart. The brand is goya
Nice
Am I missing where the recipe can be found? Anybody know?
Ty 4 teaching me that
Bruh why the hell was i drooling the whole time
you should have shown us what they look like cut open before you ended the vid. thank you for the share now I am hungry..
Especially the fork trick too
+To Serve Men - Beautiful. Do you know if instead of frying it can be baked? Thank you
Yes it can
To Serve Men thank you
I was wondering if I could bake them, thank you.!
In Nigeria , we make something similar but it's baked and we call it meatpie.
@@anestinamercy5761 Yes, my mother made them when I was growing up and she called them meat pies also. Her had potatoes and carrots too, but oh so good. That was over 50 years ago. All of these recipes are sooooo good. Variation is always nice😋
Pls share- what is sofrito and an ingredient list. Looks delicious.
MANY THANKS
P.S. any ideas on a dipping sauce?
Sofrito is like a sauce but we use it as a base in our cooking (I'm puerto rican btw) i know other spanish countries do it but i will tell you the way my mother makes it. My great grandmother, grandmother and mother make it this way so there is no right and wrong way of cooking everyone cooks different but sofrito is used in a lot of puerto rican dishes. I've always grew up with homemade sofrito I've never had any of the store bought but the brand goya sells some in stores which is easier for those who don't want to go through all the trouble. For sofrito you need the blender of course, some people use a tiny bit of water or oil to help it break down in the blender, green peppers, red peppers sometimes my family does orange peppers, garlic cloves, yellow onions, culantro (recao), cilantro, and ajies dulce peppers we dont always put them in they can be hard to find but yeah thats all you just blend it and put it away.
I use pepper garlic powder and sazon and yes I’m 12 year that can cook
Awesome! Your parents must be proud and good parents (or family member) to teach you to cook so young...♥️
Okay but where did you get the empanada pastry wrappers??
Wonder if it eould still be good baked e oil on it.
These would be great to make if you put the recipe in the description.
If you need the recipe in the description after he literally explained everything you should be be cooking
how long do I have fry each side?
I just might hire yah be my chef
I have a question can you put your beef in a food processor to make it like more soft what do you think?
Looks good but missing some key ingredients such as sofrito and tomato paste
Elvin Rueda r
Elvin Rueda and SALT!! Did I miss something? I saw NO SALT!! I was cringing for nearly the entire video! I couldn’t watch! 🙈 At least SOME salt! I can’t even imagine how that would taste without any salt!
Not everyone uses sofrito in their empanadas, I don't either, and everyone doesn't use salt, if you couldn't watch ? Why did you.......lololol
Ps he did use sea salt, try to pay attention before such a childish comment.
home made sofrito, tomato sauce or paste and cilantro and sazon is what's missing. It adds so much more flavor than just the onion, pepper, cumin, chili powder
What kinds of dough so you use?
Hummm
The Goya disks . Would they be in frozen section ? Flour or corn ?
Yes in the Goya frozen section, flour.
Looks so good where can I get that disk wrapper.
Clearly the Euro version...
Did you record this with a potato?
Take a roller and make the disc a bit bigger.
Why don't you do that in YOUR empanada video? What this guy did was introduce empanadas to me. I have my own ideas on how I'll make my own. Glad this guy posted his video otherwise I just might be out there wondering around in space looking for something different to eat.
Gentlemen's Edge If you’re making an empanada, it’s advisable to take advice from people who actually grew up eating this. However great this recipe might be...there are still missing ingredients that could enhance it. Talk about rude.
Have you had any challenges with them opening while trying? I’m guessing I need to apply more pressure with fork?
Seal with little water maybe?
Or use less filling or
Exactly my problem. I did four in a row and they opened up spilling the filling. I used less filling and still happened. I think maybe my dough wasn’t thawed out enough. I’ll try the water trick next time.
Publix!! Best. Grocery. Store. Ever!!!!
Sofrito and Adobo. You can purchase both in the “international” isle.
I really wanted to see the inside and see you taste one.
How long do you let the filling cool for?
Until it's cool, not hot after cooking. Are you a beginner cook ? D U H !
They look like they would be good with dipping sauce. Any recommendations on sauce?
This is a little late......but I have seen these smothered in queso and accompanied with sour cream and guacamole.
It may sound nasty until u try it but ketchup is fuckin banging with it tbh
not even close!
You dont have a list of ingredients below
Yea ugh
You where like Hannibal lecter on those bad manma Jame us lmao
Can you just make the ground beef an season how you want with the potato

Juana Martinez thank you! I want to make them!!!
Can they be baked.?
yes
My granny from Philippines make me that
mine are always oily any recommendations?
Maybe your oil isn't hot enough, so instead of frying. You basically soaking the dough in oil
Buy a thermometer to go into the pot of oil if thats how you are frying them. I fry them over 360 to 375 watch your temp it goes up fast.
Us Florida men must stick together. PUBLIX FOREVER
Publix is in Georgia too!
Where do you find those already made empanada shells?
Mary Watts Found mine (same Goya discs he uses) at a Mexican Grocery store
You can find them at any supermarket in the ethnic section when they sell frozen Goya products (I.e tostones empanadas etc)
Can you bake them?
I have never tried
I’ve been told you can or do s air fryer
Yes
Drain meat and might want to add tomato sauce.
I got my disc here... Um what kind of disc?
The dough
Can you bake them instead of frying? Thank you
Sure
Tortillas?
Tried it. Empanada shells seal well
