- It has been a year since Yevgeny Prigozhin led the Wagner Group of mercenaries in an uprising against the Kremlin.
Angered by a lack of ammunition in the war against Ukraine, his Wagner Group forces marched unopposed into Rostov in southern Russia on 23 June last year. From there they set their sights on Moscow.
Prigozhin called off the coup within hours, but it was the most serious challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin's rule since he came to power in 1999. Exactly two months later, a plane carrying Prigozhin and his top aides crashed, killing everyone on board. The Kremlin denied any involvement. Russia has rejected an international investigation into the crash of Prigozhin's private plane over its territory.

He realized it wouldn't work that's why he accepted the deal. He expected support but he didn't get it. Also, Chechen forces were ready to face Prigozhin so he was several times outnumbered and outgunned. Now, another mutiny is almost impossible.

Sure, as was planned by the US in 2019, in "Extending Russia: Competing from Advantageous Ground." Which is only an extension of the Wolfowitz Doctrine that has sadly replaced Détente. But Putin and the rest of Russian leadership seem to be overcoming the problems the US is creating for them. The real question is how far will the BRICS rise as the G7 continues to fall? The world is changing. The 90% are rebelling against the 10% who once ruled them. The US may be doing Russia a favor by chasing them away if BRICS are the future.
