- Jonas Vingegaard's TRAINING To DESTROY Tadej Pogačar
This year’s Tour de France was one of the most exciting in history, and for the longest time, it looked like the race would be decided in the final stages, with the difference between Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogačar being so little. But what does it take to knock Tadej Pogačar out of the park in Tour de France? And what training did Jonas Vingegaard have to undergo to beat him?

I think it was very interesting to see how so many people this year seemed to think, that Pogacar would win TDF in spite of his problematic preperations. And that the 2022 TDF was a fluke on Vingegaards part, or solely attributable to the tactics on Cranon. That if Vingegaard and Pogacar truly went head to head, Vingegaard would not stand a chance. And of course they are also attributing the fact that Pogacar lost TDF this year solely to his problematic preperations, not to Vingegaard being on par with Pogacar. It is of course hard to say how Pogacar would have performed, if he had a more ideal preperation, but what is most interesting is that so many people still seem to refuse just how good Vingegaard actually is.
Yeah its crazy people have been so blind on Jonas even after he won the tdf, people said it was all van aert, roglic that made it happen I dont know how they imagine physics work Jonas had to be better than pogi to beat him no matter what. Now you say on par, but if you actually look at the times on climbs and estimate the wattages. pogacar has never been on Jonas top level. Jonas is able to make numbers pogacar never has done in the mountains and in TT's. Actually pogacars best numbers ever was this years tdf, where people talk about him having bad prep. The more likely thing is Pogacar had an advantage in the first 2 weeks by recovering up to tdf. But might have cost his form in the last week. But he overperformed in the first 2 weeks.
and now everybody and their mom is going to tell you how pogacar has "no chance" to beat jonas, people are quick to make conclusions always
There really aren't many saying that. In fact, I haven't heard anyone say that.
Vingegaard is a machine on climbs. But, seeing how a 100 percent fit pogacar is so much more dominant than the field, I’d say there’s a good chance he’s winning the tour again.
Loving these videos. Excellent prep and writing. More, sir.
Thanks for uploading videos......your videos are very good 👍
Jonas could win 5 straight tours, and comment sections will still be full of excuses of why pogi didn’t win 😂
“Jonas did not race much”… except his 15 wins… 😅
Keep the juice flowing!
Glad to finally hear consistency getting the nod over everything else. That being said, Jonas is at least 5 kgs lighter than Pog and simply has a longer duration at ~threshold. That and his TT is extraordinary for his weight. I hate to say it but he’s perfectly suited to the Tour and is currently unbeatable. The margins aren’t really close tbh.
His TT has also had the help of additional aero garments under his skinsuit to massively reduce the power needed to distance Pogacar.
I believe he would have taken time regardless given the way he reconed the course and all but as much as he did.

Excuse me, but you dont tell nothing in this video. Besides, many things what you say are wrong, this years Vingegard's performance was not primerly endurance but pure strenght, for example Vingegaard's time trial: he made first hundreds of meters in 15 seconds, while second best Pogačar in 16,5 seconds. That was the power never seen
No, that was taking better lines and better cornering. In the first 15 seconds, that is.
@@HolgerDanske874 first straight 15 seconds, before first turn, Mr. Wrong. Watch it again before commenting!
@@SlobodanSchumacher Yeah, Pogacar not accelerating enough because of a corner, Mr. Don't Know. If he had the same technical abilities and/or courage as Vingegaard he would have taken the corner with more speed.
@@SlobodanSchumacher Unless you somehow think Vingegaard is more explosive than Pogacar ... which will make you the only one in the world thinking that, Mr. Don't Know.
@@HolgerDanske874 Look we all know what is going on. Riis, Rasmussen, now Vingegaard and then Skjelmose expressed wish for the same new practising option.

I think you nail it pretty good. I Love Pogy as a racer and performer! JV is just a humble shy guy, that don't fancy the limelite. But he sure is the better man in grand tours. Whitout JV Pogy woun't be so popular. He makes him human after all.
Tadej will always be a bike racer and Yonas will always be an endurance athlete.
Best GC rider of this generation. JV
well if it isnt a suprise Biking is in essence completely endurance. One of the hardest endurance sports there is.
Jonas is better than Tadej on decents as well
Well, Tadej was still recovering from his fracture that I think impeded his training this past spring/ summer 2023. We shall see. Remember, TP is ranked number 1 in the world.
Not sure what’s becoming more common…Tadej cracking under pressure against Jonas or the excuses that follow.
Recovery was totally over by week 2. Look at Jonas at the Vuelta. Completely stomach shitting himself sick in the first week, no training at all for the Vuelta, dominant by week 3. Pog had no excuses, he should easily be in form by week 3 regardless of prep
We are talking about who’s the best climber. Not who’s the best all rounder
@@luiscolon921 whats vingegaards excuse for not winning the amstel gold, flandern, strade bianchi.... lets just come to an agreement that pog is the greatest alround rider that we are getting to watch at the moment and vinge a great gc specialist that wins on heavy climbing grand tours. Its pretty funny tbh that pog can even challenge someone like vingegard on the climbs, by sience he shouldnt really be able to
But he isnt able to compete on high mountain , thats why he lost over 7 minuts, can ve agree thats a lot
Pogacar doesnt really lay emphasis on his sprinting. he just is explosive in despite of having a huge aerobic engine. his training consists of zone 2 sprinkled with glycolitic stuff. San Milan have said this
He is sprinting trying to gain seconds every single stage. And then he blows chunks of time in TT and key climbs
How easily you forget about Primož Roglič, who had a great missfortune at TDF 2021 and 2022, and was denied any chanche in 2023 due to team TJV politics. He has by far of three the best mental preparation and stuborness, and his physical prep in 2024 will be at least at par of his best in 2021 and 2022, when he was as well prepared as was JV. It will be a hell of a TDF 2023.
Let’s be honest, primoz is impressive and one of the best climber in the world, but he’s no where near Jonas
He just wasn't good enough to win again Pogi. JV not only won he destroyed him Roglic is a level below
Roglic actually had the chance 3 years in a row TJV was wholly prepared for him to win if he was strong enough. Yes he crashed but that is also a smokescreen for him actually not being strong enough. 2022 wasnt that bad of a crash. 2020 he wasnt strong enough. Pogacar has only become better since that time.
The only thing I can say is Roglic was in the form of his life this Vuelta 2023 better than he has ever been so he might be strong this year. But he certainly hasnt had the capabilty to win the last 4 years.
@@TellusJD Not really. 2022 TDF cubes stage: when Vingegard crashed, the whole team waited, when Roglich crashed, team left him behind and started chasing Pogačar on 120%. In 2023 TDF was intentionally denied to him (there was one spot left), throu all year 2023 Roglič was in top form, wining practically all races he attended, yet in Vuelta he was denied- again - top spot, because team tactics 1st enable Kuss breakaway and comfortable lead, then later Vingegard overtaking Roglič while he kept the back of Kuss. (oh, not to forget Jumbo team had to wait Vingegard at prolouge 45 sec). OMG talking about all the frustrations here!? So I expect 2024 TDF to be far more then just Vingegard-Pogačar rivalry. And Douphine will show if Roglič will be up to the task or not. In 2023 everybody said Roglič will never win a 3-week race again, yet he got Giro, would have probably won Vuelta as well, if Jumbo would’ve allowed it, and I am sure we hadn’t seen last of him. And that’s why I like road cycling so much. Against all the odds…
I’m a huge Roglic fan, but he’s nowhere near the climber or TT rider that Jonas is
Media is all over Vingo vs. Pogi duel but they forget that Rogla has he's own team now. Jonas can prepare to be in top shape for TDF just like last year when Pogi won most of the races he competed in. But Rogla is comming for the fisherman!
and he will see nothing but rotten fish dashing on the road in the trails of vingegaard.
I am lokking forward to the clash of titans, they Are al redicilous good riders
Just love bothe the Sloveniens and Even remco 😅 and ofcource vinge ,its amazing thath it is not only poggi thath winning All,lokking forward to a clash in2024 they Are All amazing riders
Why does he pronounce the first g in Vingegaard that way? That is like wrongly saying the sin-ging lady. Just like in English a g in that position is pronounced the same way in Danish.
The silent thinker knows internal secrets to tinker with required calibrations of thrust and the willingness and patience of trust in a being supreme the universe like a magnet pulls him towards like the conductor of his dream....
How was it an exciting Tour?
Good clip! But please do use google translate and just listen to the pronounciation of his name there.... it is not an "a" in vingegaard. It is an old spelling of "å"
Silent G and D and “aard” is pronounced like war without the W.
4:40 approved doping...
Pogacar will win this Tour with around 5 min on Vingegaard.
Yes ofc he will.
He will be fresher than ever! With a Giro d italia in his legs he will for sure break his bad habit of "dying" in the third week🎉
@@sebastianlauri9622 Giro will be a good Trainingcamp. Easy route and no competition.
@@brunospasta It's not an ideal prep no matter what. It's still many days of racing. He will feel it in the Tour. Jonas is perfect in training and he will time it perfectly again
Your forgetting he beat pog at his best the year before, so what make you think he’s any better in 2024?
Pogi is going to the Giro because he knows he can't beat Jonas at the TdF
Will Rocky Balboa beat Ivan Drago next year ? I think so!
How can you compare the number 2 rider to a number 1 rider*, COME ON MAN, one works for another and the other works for himself
Dear AI narrator, Vingego, not gard.
I like the gard better
you joking? Vinge= wing, Gaard=Farm. Wingfarm 😅
Nah, not really. More like in Al Gore. Remember him? Gore, not Go.😊
@@jacobjacobsen2798 got it. Thnx.
Vinge gore
If you calculate it from 1 jan to dec 31 pogacar is the absolute number 1 , number 2 is vingegaard , 3 Remco, 4 Roglic , 5 Wout , 6 Van der Poel . This positions al have its reasons !! and All uncluded .... But there is somme young talent comming up like the Irish rider Ben, ayuso, Cian .....
I don't trust that pipo one cent
Vingagaard is not strong on his own. He NEEDS a team to help him "destroy" his opponents. There are multiple strong men in the pro peleton that would annihilate skinny little vingagarrd in a one on one competition.
Team tactics are superb on Yumbo Visma. They are at the top of their game. Vingagaard should consider himself fortunate to be in the right place at the right time.
The time trial last year says otherwise. Vingegaard annihilated EVERYONE lol. Doesn't get more one on one than that.
@kasperbroberg2242
One time trial.
Woowee😏.
Why not every time trial?
Well he also beat him on the time trial in 22? Do your homework 😏 Last time Pogacar beat Vingegaard on a TT was 2021.... Thats nearly 3 years ago@@victorrodriguez2806
Yes they push him up the mountains and also on the ITT in stealth clothing.. what an dumbass 😂
#dieselpower
This guys sounds like Charlton Kirby off Eurosport… or his it a AI rip off ?
Training in 2023 all pros are well trained ...So naive !!
Jumbo are cheats, back furings and Dope, JVs progression over last couple of years tells us this, nobody makes gains like that, he's gained about 9%, yet to gain 5% is out of this world, so where did it come from, then there's P.R, and Kuss also, Rabobank with different sponsors,
History repeating itself, Armstrong all over again, but the cash as been spent, and the publicity as been done by the time UCI get on the case
Pogacar is Armstrong all over again. One could argue he is Landis reincarnate. The number he did after getting destroyed by Vingegaard on stage 5 of the Tour de France. The next day he was suddenly Landis winning the stage? Pogacar is biggest cheater since Armstrong
@@HolgerDanske874 The Future will prove who was right
@@robbyrogersberg1520 Future here, HolgerDanske was right. UAE and Pogacar are probably the biggest cheaters in the peloton. UAE's sporting directors took EPO themselves in the 90s, Gianetti even was in a coma after experimenting with doping himself. Gianetti and Maxtim had many dopers in their teams in the past decades. Ricco, Piepoli, Cobo, Iban Mayo, just to name a few.
No llore mujer xD
He missed a drug test , that’s all that has to be said
UAE have 4 convicted dopers in their management team, that's all that has to be said
In 2019...
Pro Cyclists do not train to "destroy" each other. Maybe you would be better with a podcast on MMA. Our sport does not need click bait negativity.
Wrong. Domestiques often relish in putting the hurt on rivals.
That's not negativity potato. It's competitiveness
You need a pacifier and a blanket.
💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉
pogačar is doper
🐑🐑🐑
the only situation they will beat pogacar jumbo team effort he cant beat pogi on strength
Yeah, especially in the individual time trial this year. Vingegaard's team helped him so much that day!
Two years , guees he can drive a bike, poggi maybe to selfish , you saw it after the tt , he diddnt expeckt that
Thaths enough 😂
Jumbo didn’t cracked Pogi on stage 17 last year though 🤷♂️
Lots of drugs
Poggi boy ,¿
It’s funny how you’re accusing Jonas of doping and not pogacar
@@frames_apHe did not say to anyone specific
If drugs are involved than all of them are drugged, so it doesnt matter.
