I was lucky and went to a Uni with helpful, easy to contact staff who were committed to quality teaching not just their research. I had friends who were not so lucky and it really impacted their experience to the extent a few dropped out. My university linked lectures pay and advancement to student reviews and assessments from staff from other departments. every assessment was double marked and there was a department time table for lecturers being available to help students. When you can talk directly with staff there is more understanding on both sides and life is easier. There were people from my school who are much smarter than me who went to other places and struggled to know what the lecturer wanted which was really stressful. My university gave you a detailed feedback sheet with each assignment mark. It was broken down into categories and a general feedback section. the back of the the form included the grade boundaries for each of the categories. that form made the difference between getting a passing degree and getting a first class. When visiting Universities ask about how they ensure teaching quality and how they give feed back, it matters. Also find out what financial support is available and how far you have to walk between the where you live and the best bars.

Their management sounds very organized and helpful for students' growth . Would you mind sharing which university? I'm planning to enroll next year. I've been severely burnt out from the pandemic and need a cohesive system in order to survive.

I think this is excellent advice; especially (but not only) the part about vibes.
I got negatives vibes from the University of Edinburgh too.
Vibes are extremely hard - if not impossible - to fake.

They really are. It's why I'm always amazed when I hear of international students moving to places without visiting first. I'm not that brave!

@@ThomasRintoul It is because they don't suspect this could be an issue. At least, this was my case (I know, foolish). I didn't know or suspected that there would be such a big difference between what universities say online and what the real atmosphere at the respective university is.

Thanks for the tips! Very useful to me as I'm going through this process myself :)
