    What a discernible difference these exercises made in my overall physical well being! I experienced the best sleep last night since I sustained injury to my back [disc herniation] over a month ago! The pain in my left hip and anterior thigh disappeared, and a majority of the left leg paresthesia dissipated to the degree that my bed sheets don't feel like sandpaper anymore! Thank you so much for sharing this invaluable information with the collective - what a blessing!

    First time I have had useful information about what to try and do for self help re femoral nerve disfunction. Debilitating pain that none of my doctors r helping me with. This at least gives me something to try. My UK docs useless and make u feel like ur neurotic..just get on with it attitude with no concept of the pain experienced with this condition at its worst. I think it is so much harder when u have an underlying condition. UK as if Docs r bored of seeing u so r immune to the idea of a new problem emerging. My continual experience is that we have a real culture problem in this country with doctors in general practice and in hospitals eg consultants, registrars etc who think their own stresses more important than patients the r supposed to serve. A superiority complex rife. Thank goodness for sites like this that show health professionals giving caring, useful advice with a natural respect for the patients. Will get back and report when I have tried these exercises.

    I'm honestly stunned - I can't believe the degree of relief I got from this and how quickly it took effect. I'd been having a nasty burning pain in my thigh and was struggling to sleep at all, and especially not on my side. After following these just once I immediately noticed a significant improvement in the burning pain and I slept so comfortably on my side for the first time in what felt like forever. Thank you so, so much for this demonstration!

    This is the Magical Femoral Nerve Stretch!!!!!! I have been trying many different approaches to stretching, to alleviate the pain in my hip and ability to climb stairs with leg weakness from the nerve entrapment. This worked!!! In a really short time I gained back strength in my leg and less pain. Thank you for sharing this amazing stretch! I have been searching and working at releasing the femoral nerve with numerous other stretches but this one was the key in almost immediate relief! I will definitely incorporate this to my daily workout and stretching routine.

    Ok, I just got some instant relief from these. I have femoral neuropathy. Laid down and my thigh was on fire. Started searching CZcams and found this. Got my lazy ass up and hit the floor. They were a bit painful to execute. But when I got up, I could tell a difference. Gonna do this a few times a day now.

    Agree with the other previous comments. I have been experiencing symptoms of upper leg numbness/tingling the last few weeks, and on doing online research, determined that it seems to be femoral nerve entrapment. Did these exercises one time last week, and really helped! Haven't had the symptoms since (although have also trying to avoid sitting at my computer for extended periods of time, which is when the symptoms flare up). Thanks again!

      I've had to diagnose myself. Can't get doctors to understand. They just move my leg around and go, "Hmmm". I, too, think it's Piriformis Syndrome, but lately I've also had Meralgia symptoms. This has been going on for 3 years and 5 or 6 doctors.

It took about 3 years before I was sent to a specialist. They couldn’t help me and said I just have to live with it. It has been 8 years now and I’m still suffering. I accidentally injured myself last night - causing the inner thigh/inguinal area to get cramped, and I think it pinched a nerve there because my whole leg started to tingle and feel numb then a burning sensation under my big toe. It kept me up all night, I didn't know where to start looking for solutions and I started freaking out. I've been worrying and feeling anxious the whole day.

    Hi Dr. Abelson - I have some clients who are suffering from chronic pelvic pain syndrome. Most have had an injury to the groin, pulled psoas, etc. Resistance stretching has helped greatly, but I'm missing something. I have a suspicion that an entrapment of the genitofemoral nerve is contributing to the pain and am curious is nerve flossing would be helpful. Would you recommend femoral nerve flossing for the GF nerve or is there a better video that I can try? Thanks!

    • @kinetichealthonline
      @kinetichealthonline  Před 2 lety

      Hi Carrie: As you know the genitofemoral nerve is formed in the midsection of the psoas muscle (anterior rami of L1 and L2 nerve roots). because the travels inferiorly within the psoas it worth a try using some of the femoral nerve flossing techniques. We are actually in the process of updating and to some of nerve flossing videos. One of the will deal with pelvic dysfunction. That being said, in those patients where flossing does not work I refer them for possible nerve blocks of the GFN. Cheers

      Hi Mark: I would check with your doctor first. I had a total hip replacement about 4 years ago. Rehab and constant exercise is what has keep me on track. Cheers!

    I had total knee replacement two weeks and my quadricep has not woken up yet and I'm only at 55% range of motion with my knee so how can I do some of these exercises without my knee moving and I can't lift my leg

    • @kinetichealthonline
      @kinetichealthonline  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi kraggy: You should stick with the recommended exercises they have given you for the 4 to 6 weeks. Then with the approval of your physician see if these exercise are appropriate in your case. I would not worry about the range of motion for now, every case is different and it often takes time with total knee replacements. Cheers

    Why would C-Spine movement facilitate the desired outcome of eliminating pain and increasing mobility?

    • @kinetichealthonline
      @kinetichealthonline  Před 3 lety

      Moving the cervical spine into flexion or extension stretches or releases tension on certain sections of the spinal cord which has direct effect on other sections of the nervous system depending on body position. Flossing entails tensioning one end of the nerve while simultaneously releasing tension on the other end. Nerve tensioning is placing tension on both ends of a nerve. Cheers

    Hi Brian. When Sam is doing the kneeling exercise, is she working on the same side as the lying exercise, ie, the left?

    • @kinetichealthonline
      @kinetichealthonline  Před 2 lety

      When she is lying face down and bending the left leg she is flossing the left side (02:06 Prone Nerve Flossing & Tensioning Exercise). When she is kneeling (right knee on the table), she is flossing the right side when performing the exercise (03:25 Dynamic Nerve Flossing). I how this helps. Cheers!

      @@kinetichealthonline Hey Brian! Thanks so much for the swift response. Yep, I thought that was the case, but just wanted to make sure. I was recently diagnosed with Femoral Neuropathy and after just three days your exercises have virtually eliminated the pain and I now have increased mobility. Goodbye to Amitriptyline and Co-codamol!! Thank you very much for your post, a bloody life changer my friend. 👏

    I have been told that I have femoral and femoral cutaneous nerve dysfunction. I have no symtoms for 8 to 12 weeks then for about 10 days I have intense pain in my tigh, inner tigh and as low down as my knee. (Left leg) The pain moves around from hour to hour. Also during this period I have lots of twitches in both legs. However I don't have numbness or weekness which is strange. I have a large vascular malformation on my left hip which runs around to my back. I have seen lots of doctors and they can not understand why I can be fine for weeks and then get this. ideas anyone?

    Is this for meralgia paresthetica?

    • @kinetichealthonline
      @kinetichealthonline  Před 9 měsíci

      Thank you for tuning in. While this video focuses on femoral nerve flossing, it's important to understand the anatomical landscape. The femoral nerve and the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (associated with meralgia paresthetica) both originate from the lumbar region of the spine, sharing a proximity in their pathways. This means techniques beneficial for one might influence the other. However, this video isn't explicitly tailored for meralgia paresthetica. Some individuals may experience relief from it, but it's essential to consult your physician to determine if this technique is suitable for your specific condition.

    Is there a way to perform nerve flossing on the nerves that are on the side of the torso at the belt line? I've been diagnosed with sciatic above my left butt at the belt line but I think I've got nerve stuck. Fell off a treadmill while running (shoe ripped out on the side) and suddenly I have sciatica seems a little hard to believe and getting treatment in my area is impossible, if you can't take a pill for it or cut it out, its not an issue.
