Mary Kay Adams is truly the unheralded genius of Guiding Light. This is a woman who went up against Beverlee McKinsey on a regular basis, as well as Zimmer here, and NEVER let them steal the scene.
Mary Kay Adams held her own, but all you gotta do is look at that "Oh hell no you don't!" expression on Zimmer's face and you just *KNOW* that Reva's gonna come out on top!
the last years when GL was great........ mostly due to the women.... Reva, India, Alexandra, Claire, Miss Sally, Maeve, Maureen....... those were the days...
CBS did the unthinkable by canceling As The World Turns and Guiding Light. These soaps along with Another World, Search for Tomorrow, and The Edge of Night are owned by Proctor & Gamble Productions. These shows need to make a comeback!
I agree with you. However, ever since the first chair was thrown on _Geraldo_ , and the first hair weave was pulled out on _Springer_ , networks discovered they could reel in audiences much more cheaply with a single set, a single host, and members of the public so desperate for their 15 minutes they'd act out their private stupidity and dilemmas on a national stage for the pastime of the rest of us. Ever since _Donahue_ was discarded for trash talk, we have been calculatedly dumbed down to receive deliberate, uncouth conflict as entertainment, to confuse what's noisy and immediate for what's sincerely substantial, and currently no one is reaping greater benefit of it than Donald Trump. Why lay out all that money for first rate actors, talented writers who could create multi-generational story arcs, and competent set builders, lighting men, makeup, hair and fashion people when you can get the same number of viewers with some whore who needs her eighth DNA test on as many different worthless punks to find the one that left her knocked up and abandoned?
I love India......GREAT scene with Adams and Zimmer!!!! You are a doll for posting!!!! (I like how you are labeling the clips with what the scene is about, thanks!)
I love this scene. Perfect catfight. I was too young to appreciate India's bitchiness when this first aired. I really respect Mary Kay Adams' talents now. KZ's flawless as usual.
Reva threw out the decades has gone threw hair does and fashions marriages she was beautiful then and still was when guiding light ended. She was the original diva along with vanessa nola Alexandra india and mindy.
When Phillip, Beth, Rick and Mindy ran off to New York, Rick and Mindy were getting very close. During these scenes there was some music playing with these lyrics - if you were wondering who I am, I'm a man, just an ordinary man Does anyone remember that bit of music, the song title or the artist ?
@freesafetynumber2 Hate to disagree but they were all great actresses. Why put one down to fancy the other? You are certainly intitled to your own opinion but they were all three grand class acts and I think their longevity in the business proves that.
Reva and Kyle Sampson had the BEST chemistry. They belonged together. Reva and Josh were not believable, and Reva became humdrum and boring the total opposite be of this scene.
I'M WITH HSHAWN00. WHY PUT DOWN THE OTHERS TO GLORIFY ONE. BEVERLEE MCKINSEY ANDKIM ZIMMER WERE GREAT IN MY BOOK AND EVEN THOUGH I DON;T LIKE INDIA VON HALKEIN I DO RESPECT MARY KAY ADAMS FOR HER PORTRAYAL OF THE PART. THEY WERE ALL STRONG WOMEN SUBJECT TO THE WRITERS DISCRETION AS TO WHO WOULD COME OUT ON TOP IN ANY GIVEN SITUATION. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE BEVERLEE MAY SHE REST IN PEACE AND KIM OVER THE REST BUT I RESPECT MARY KAY FOR HER TALENT AS WELL
The worst Phillip ever!!! Grant was the only Phillip sorry to say! Kim Zimmer ,in her early days as Reva? She was magnificent! she was always will be one of soaps greatest!
When guiding light was awesome. Mary Kay Adams was a favorite of mine
Reva was and will always be the toast of Springfield. She held her own in every scene she had!
Kim Zimmer does look all sorts of awesome here. Gotta love the 80’s!
Mary Kay Adams is truly the unheralded genius of Guiding Light. This is a woman who went up against Beverlee McKinsey on a regular basis, as well as Zimmer here, and NEVER let them steal the scene.
Mary Kay Adams is THE most unheralded and underrated actresses on the show. Its a shame that she didn't have a bigger part on the show over the years.
India sure knew how to pull someone down with words . Underrated for sure , I rarely saw her as much through the episodes.
MKA was a writer, and a darned good one. . .she only wrote herself in to spice up the story lines. . .
As much as I love Adams, I believe Kim stole this scene right from her LOL
MKA was also great in her 6 month stint on ATWT in the early 90s.
My grandmother named me after this character..Go India ♡
When Guiding Light was at its finest, with catfights like these, and Roger Thorpe as the ultimate villain.
I remember.
Oh damn! I had forgotten that Reva and India had such a confrontation! This was good!
"So why don't you stick to Old Man Lewis and count your bleSSings!" Love that hiss!
Revas got an extra two feet of height with that hair! I bet the whole set smelled like Aqua Net haha, gotta love the 80’s. 💕✌🏼
I remember the huge cans of AquaNet - lol 😂
It would only last me about 2 weeks
I always loved her earrings, back then. Totally '80's!
Mary Kay Adams held her own, but all you gotta do is look at that "Oh hell no you don't!" expression on Zimmer's face and you just *KNOW* that Reva's gonna come out on top!
Ohhhh, YEAH!!!! LOL.
Omg...i remember that scene! Soap opera at its best! Reva Shayne was one hell of a character! Loved her!
the last years when GL was great........ mostly due to the women.... Reva, India, Alexandra, Claire, Miss Sally, Maeve, Maureen....... those were the days...
househeadericmd GL was superb between 1991-1995.
@@keeganthorpe Exactly! I don't know what show househearericmd was watching because Guiding Light was at its zenith during 1991 to 1993
The best years .
One thing is clear and that is Don't mess with Reva. Is that clear.

+Horatio Hawkins I agree with you as the world turns and Guiding Light are alot better then what they replace them with in their time slots
The Edge of Night definately needs to make a comeback.
I agree with you. I miss GL and AW..I watched ATWT..sometimes I have been watching episodes on youtube, wishing for these shows to come back
I Agree the need to come back, they were a lot better then The Talk that they replace it with
omg, memories!!!!

In total agreemrnt.
Gosh, John Bolger has such a nice smile! :)
Kim Zimmer at her most beautiful ❤️
It was interesting what they did with Reva’s character. How do you marry rich men, and not have your own money from the divorces?
MK Adams and Chris Bernau played the hell out of their scenes. Greatest baddies in GL's glory days!

That there my friends is what you call a clash of titans! Two fine actresses playing the hell out of their characters!
I was waiting for Reva to rip her a new one.
Get her Reva Shayne
Wow! I don't remember this at all...it's great!
Imagine rêva vs Annie his sister at this young age already
Reva threw out the decades has gone threw hair does and fashions marriages she was beautiful then and still was when guiding light ended. She was the original diva along with vanessa nola Alexandra india and mindy.
Nola was a hot mess.
I could swear that Reva slapped India at some point....but I was 7 when this aired!
I think she did, but for some reason it was edited out or cut out
Mary Kay Adams. Great job
Wow. India told Reva the hell-off. Reva came back, though.

I believe the song is "If You Were Wondering" by Peter Allen.
lol India seen her on GL in 85 said that's a pretty name I was 17 said I'm going to name my first born India yup I did lol
You picked a gorgeuos name for your little girl! I love that name and I love me some India Von Halkein
I Can't Believe what A Amazon India was she looks a Giant here
Could we see all of this episode? It looks like a humdinger.
Half the men on that show has fought over Reva at some point, and at some point half the women on that show was jealous of her...I love Reva!!
