I feel like the random colours inside characters are there to tell the engine what sort of character it is, main character, npc, killable character, cop etc

The Engine is a software, not a human. So, it does not need colors to know about an object in the game.

just noticed that those shapes/doodles on the page @ 6:01 are the result of friedlander pretending to be taking notes on his clients during his sessions - the amount of detail that rockstar put into the little things is astounding.

It's really not, though. As funny as that might be. The prop also shows up at the Mission Row PD alongside various banks and other office interiors. That's not to say the prop isn't meant to poke fun at fake note-taking in general.

Not happening. Low poly stuff isint just for saving space but also time. The players not gonna see it. So why spend resources on it when you could use em on stuff players will see. Unless the games built to be broken like that were never gonna see that. Sorry

He shoulda went into the garbage dump place where Trevor tortured that guy to see if the torture setup is always there or if its only there for that one mission.

You can use mods to get inside the apartment. You'll see Floyd lying on the couch with a gunshot wound. Debra's face on the kitchen sink with some blood on her body.
@@_simon.s_ Even though there's noticeably blood you can see from the outside of the apartment, in actuality Floyd and Debra aren't there. That part is also a mod. Besides, why would Rockstar unnecessarily leave character models in an area off camera AND will never visit that particular area again? It'd be a cool find to see the aftermath of Trevor murdering them but it's just not very practical to do so for this one scene in the entire game.
The 'secret room' next to the garage used to just be a different front entrance to Michael's house, you used to be able to shoot at the wall and see the outline of the door.
Anyone gonna point out Dr.Friedlander’s notebook he scribbles in when talking to Michael to take notes in has exclusively repeated attempts at drawing a cube and random scribbles with absolutely no words.

That door you said doesn't exist - it's only on PS3 and Xbox 360. Covering that wall with bullet holes will reveal the texture of a door frame. It was removed on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
This makes me want to see you do this on Saint's Row IV
A huge part of that game is on linear paths, like the 1950's segment. They even force you to keep driving on a fixated path.

8:07 That rumor started because there was a door frame there, well some sort of frame at least. If you used explosives on the wall you could make the outline of a door appear. This was very early in the games release and it was soon patched out completely.

In the North Yankton bank, there is an unused security room which was going to be used for an unused objective in the prologue where you try to get rid of the evidence of your crime via torching the servers and shooting down cameras.

8:06 Just a bit of info for you, back on Last Gen there was a texture glitch on that wall, it looked like Rockstar originally planed to have a door there but they removed it and instead of redoing the texture work for the wall they put a new separate texture where the cut out for the door was. Which made it look weird and then made people speculate about there being a hidden room there.
That woman hanging off that billboard looks like an actual NPC used in the game (In Sandy Shores) so I'm guessing they used the textures from that same NPC. It would explain the ear and empty eye textures.

What about the ufo at the bottom of the sea and also the lost hatch?
There is actually a glitch to get inside of the UFO underwater, you just swim through a certain part of it, there's nothing inside though but there is a strange texture for the floor but I think that's just the hatch that would open up underneath. But good point on the lost hatch, I've always wanted to know what's inside, I know that there is most likely nothing but still, it would be nice to be sure.

There used to be a glitch in the game that allowed you to go to North Yankton in the online. It caused the whole model of the area to appear over the ocean near the airport

Outstanding video.
A black box in newer games (the ones that use motion capture), are used for visual representation of roots for character animations. In many cases its much easier to use the same movement length and timing as recorded in the studio and not have to manually edit animation triggers, etc.

This video did show me some stuff I didn't know, but back on the PS3 there use to be a glitch where you could go to North Yankton online. So I've seen the low resolution textures and half built buildings. Never saw that cutout though.
Can we get a fully rendered north yankton put in the map but a solid 15 minute flight away from Los Santos???....

I hope you're coming back to this, there's a lot of things that could've been covered, like the FIB building when you attack it, the offices/clubhouses in multiplayer, what the characters do when they get in a tank, etc.

When you slightly go into a room, and the "special effects" disappear, their called "static props", or props. When you see the room, that's the "brush models" that are loaded. The props are loaded after you step into the room, that's just how it is.
partially right. the "trigger" for loading the props is actually a direct line of sight to the room, not "entering it". there's a one-sided wall between him and the room when he's inside the wall geometry, so the game assumes his line of sight is blocked by that. as soon as he steps over the line of the wall, the blockage is gone and props load.
