I rode it before the rebranding and I wasn’t expecting the drop. It does feel like it’s a long drop. It’s been 20 years and I still remember that drop 🤪

This ride was iconic and was my all time favorite before the facelift. Those dinosaurs are a red herring for the most unexpected drop I’ve ever experienced.

They should add some loud thumping dinosaur footsteps to add more immersion and suspense, like chaos is breaking out and the Indominus is running along the path to ambush the boat at the end. The boat shakes as it’s following you. Then, when it seems like the Indominus has you trapped, the boat stops...

I still don’t understand why they don’t have dinosaurs running toward us or alongside us. The track can be hidden by plants. Simple. I figured it out 20 years ago. It’s been done on a smaller scale with a walking Belle, Olaf and others.
And I can’t believe the stupid ceiling-dinosaurs still slide on a visible belly-track with strobe lighting cues. It’s very fake.

The original ride even in it's later years when a number of animatronics were removed for breaking down felt more populated with more Dinosaurs than this.

Omggg, I went on this when I was eight or nine (28 now) and I thought the ride was over right before the T-Rex came out. I had no idea there was a drop, it totally caught me off guard! I loved it so much. I felt an adrenaline rush during the video!

@@lucacianflone4128 Adding gore’s fine, but it needs to make sense to be scary. The scratch marks wouldn’t be blood-filled like that from claws, even if they were drenched in blood. Making it look realistic would be more effective

In the old ride, the opening of the gates and the music playing forcibly put a smile on my face. It was not only nostalgic, but it was inspiring. I really felt like I was in Jurassic Park. Kinda disappointed in the new ride when I look back on how great it used to be. Still looks fun and well made, just not as great as the original.

The older version was better. Though the screens at the beginning are a cool effect it just seems cheap. The animatronics were so more immersive and the opening of the Jurassic parks gates was an iconic moment on the ride. Also as stated in other comments the countdown in the old version really built suspense

Exactly the part without any dinosaurs looks very cheap. I don’t think Universal is going to like the reception this ride gets when it does “officially” open.
Timothy Cross I actually rode it and the old version actually looked like complete shit, idk what time period the ride was good at some point but for the past 5 years going to universal the animatronics were trash.
Timothy Cross I think instead of modernizing it they could have refurbished it and fixed the mistakes of the broken necks for example. And covered the areas that you can see those areas outside of the attractions.
That's what I was thinking. Of course I rode it when all the effects were working. It was beautiful and immersive and I didn't notice any parking lot views or whatever people are talking about.
As a disabled person, it is refreshing to be able to live vicariously thru you. Thank you for that. 👍😊
I have never been to Universal Studios and I am going in a few days to celebrate my friends birthday. I’m kind of nervous to go on this ride but I really want to go on it. Edit: I went on it and was nervous through the whole thing then closed my eyes on the drip the ended up blacking out...

We rode this ride shortly after opening, and we were in the front seat. Got soaked but had a great time! It helps to pay attention to the waiting line videos which plays right into the ride.

There's actually the same amount of dinos on the ride with the inclusion of the Mosasaurus and the Indominus Rex. It would actually be one less if you really wanted to include the Compys in that list.

I went on this ride back in the 5th grade when it was still the original Jurrasic Park ride. Yesterday my cousins and I went to Universal and we went on Jurrasic World and it was still so cool and my favorite ride of all of them!

AJ you clearly have never been to universal, the cues have about ten TVs in then so your busy their, the kind kong ride is just a 2 massive 3D screens, and a lot of the actual visuals in the other rides are made with the screens, like the Harry potter ride and the transformer ride. And I mean they literally have a show to show of how they do special effects and stuff with props......... and I mean water world Is full of that stuff

Definitely glad there are videos that pretty much show a whole ride so i dont have to ride those death traps to see what is going on in there

As someone who has been to Universal in Florida many, many times, this is disappointing. The origional was maybe 8/10, I preferred the raft or log rides over it but still, was fun.
This? Did not even change the track layout. Pathetic really. Id put it at a 3/10. Uninspired, feels cheap, and unnecessary

A downgrade is a bit harsh, but it doenst really seem like they added much other than the screens at the begining, but that part was done well imo.
