He doesn't state that, I'm not hating on the guy, just sharing my opinion on the internet which is always a bad idea. But, lets be fair if you are in the competitive racing scene, you're not going to use this car as the 811 or some other supercar is a far superior choice compared to this. The way i see it, people would want to buy the custom version of the car to use in freemode as a way of getting around for missions and to show their customization to their friends.

PERFORMANCE? Do you even race competitively?? The nero cant turn as good as the gtb CUSTOM can. Not only that the acceleration is better than the nero. Its not always about holding the fucking gas button down and going in a straight line.
Donald McRonald if you did race competitively you'd know the nero dominates the GTB on corners and that's why it's a better car overall.

The handling is actually very good, it takes corners very fast without spinning out. I have done several laps on my own test track with both versions. They are both the same around corners but the custom version is maybe 1% faster in a straight line than the standard version. Some people just can't drive. That being said, it's still not worth the upgrade for performance only. It's only worth it if you like the aesthetics.
Wish I had fucking money. Everytime I play GTA to get money, I get bored right away cause I think the game is shit if you play without friends

Some of the cosmetic options actually change performance, like skirts, spoilers and bumpers, which could account for the differences. Personally, I feel the custom is heavier, but you can change that by putting less stuff on it. Either way, not a huge difference tho.
I already have a few good Supers, I wanted the Itali Custom for the looks. Sound wise, it sounds like an old supercar in normal trim, but the custom one gets a bit more raspy, like a real race car. It's a joy to drive IMO, and pretty quick too. Considering they work on the downforce mechanic (adding a spoiler doesn't affect traction), they're better around bigger tracks. That top speed time difference is because of the launch.
If I remember right, a spoiler gives 1.5x traction bonus all the time. Downforce goes from 0x to 3.5x or something at most, so the faster you go, the better it handles. Worse launch, but better at your typical GTA driving speed.
I'd be more inclined to get rid of pretty much every other super I have before the Itali Custom because of how it drives and sounds.
Also, the standard one has customization options the Custom does not, which kinda sucks, but it also gives the normal one its own charm. If I had the money, I would have a normal and a custom.

The reason the custom is worse is because of the chasis mounted wing you have, that adds downforce and therefore grip so the custom will have better turning but worse top speed because the downforce is also drag.

I have been putting some laps in using everything (double clutching and kerb boosting) I can and I found out that the custom is better at kerb boosting. the handling of both cars are slightly different so as always it's personal preferences.
Damn not many times have I been talked into a car and out of it in the same video, you make really valid points keep up the good work!

Hey Saintsfan, you should do a video on ALL of the supercars thus far in gta online. You could include all the the race times for that "top speed track" it would give a good representation on how much faster some of the cars are to others.
The performance really isn't worse, the boost start isn't always the same, it varies depending on timing, you must've got a different start, they are the exact same
Ok racing isn't just about going straight it's also about turning and acellaration this is why I got the Italy GTO instead of the paria because I haven't lost to the paria yet when I race unless i fall off the map
The top sspeed of both on a flat isnt that big of a difference but u can curb boost with the GTO

I actually just bought the car today and I like it. I also don't use Benny's since everything is WAY TOO expensive for me. Glad to know that the default GTB is superior (in terms of performance) to the GTB custom

This is the same with the Sultan RS. The 4-door version is super affordable (aside from the Elegy - my number one recommended vehicle to new players), and has WAY better handling, especially on off-road in the rain. To top it off, the 4-door holds twice as many people, and is a decent racer, whereas the RS holds 2 people, and for some reason gets bumped-up to the super car class, and it can't even stand a chance against super cars... unless... the race is off-road and in the rain. Even then, a good T20 (my favorite super car so far - that I've driven) driver can easily smoke it.

Sonny Funny so irl, a track car, costs alot more money to make a buy than the road going version. and they have worse top speeds. but they corner much, much better, their 0-60 times are far faster and they have ridiculous aerodynamics, so tbh, i think its ok that r* has done this, because its like rl.
The same happened with the custom banshee, it was slower than the regular version, so R* patched it making faster

I think it looks really nice as a custom version so if u are just going for looks I recommend the custom variant but if u have don't have the money I would decently save for something like the t20 or the nero

Ché Antenbrink a second is considered a millenia in a race. If Usain Bolt was a second slower he'd be at the back of the pack. Cars are the same way, the difference between a ten second car and an eleven second are big. He's saying if you like the car then go for it but saint realizes not everyone has all the shark cards and is making sure people know what they're getting into before they buy it.

Ché Antenbrink most of the cunning stunt tracks for example, the turns are so wide handling doesn't matter. Most tracks in gta aren't very technical which is why it matters. And if you want to take driver error into account this conversation shouldn't be had because speed becomes even more important. If an inexperienced driver is at the wheel more time can be made up on straights then on turns anyway. And it's .4 seconds which is a lot when you're paying 440k more for essentially the same car only slower. So what you're saying is your willing to pay 440k to make your car perform worse. It wouldn't be a big deal if you weren't paying so much for the upgrades, like I said not everyone has all the shark cards, making the Gtb custom a loser on arrival. But it will probably get a patch like the banshee 900r did so whatever.
TexasDragon3907 example: T20 not the fastest car but is one of the best performing car in races, its all depends on skill. X80 proto: really fast car but slips easily off the track at a sharp bend.

i noticed that too. when i purchased the car first without any ems upgrades its max speed was at ~140 mph. the upgraded version with ems upgrades max was ~ 120 mph. good jobs rockstar

I did mine up to look like a Mclaren 650s GT3... Even has the same orange Livery.... The car grows on you, probably in my top 5 cars for driver enjoyment. Something about it is extremely rewarding. (Custom version)

Literally the only thing from the 570s is the front end. It's 5% 570s, 5% P1, and 90% Trion Nemesis.

Hey dat saints fan on my channel I did an acceleration test with the gtb custom the 811 and the t 20 I don't know if the information I got was accurate but the gtb seemed to have the same acceleration as the 811 and the t 20 a second behind

Im pretty sure they are the same speed cuz one the custom race u swerved a lot compared to the non custom one so that would of effected the time..
Dude, before deciding wheather a car is faster or slower than another you have to do the race multiple times (maybe 5 times) and find the average time. Also, you need to drive the cars in a straight line instead of making those small adjustments. A half a second probably doesn't mean anything in this case.

Honestly if you are racing with other people a 1 second difference in top speed wont matter much due to slipstream and how a car can handle turns. There's so many factors that play into how good a car is so don't be disappointed by a .5 to a 1 second difference.
