- It was a beautiful day for a mow. I hadn't gotten a chance to mow since Wednesday and we actually got quite a bit of rain this past week so the grass was a touch taller than it usually is on mow day. I pulled my Toro Greensmaster 1000 out of the garage and enjoyed the mow! #lawninsider #reelmowing #enjoythemow #bermudalawn #texaslawn

looks phenomenal - you've inspired a lot of us. i acquired a wreck of a yard, have nursed the Bermuda back to health, brought in 24 yards of topsoil for areas that simply wouldn't grow, and plan to transition from rotary to reel next season (will also level). i don't know that i'll get to 1/2", but it's going to look great.

Im new. How do you mow a single/double?
I am new, can you do “how to mow your lawn correct way”? Are there a specific pattern or random and what about at the edge of drive way and curb, do you go over or the reel mower always stay on the lawn. Thanks
I’ll normally just hang the edge of the mower over the edge if there’s not something to hit the reel on near an edge. As far as the “correct” way to mow, it really just comes down to mowing frequently with a sharp blade and switching up your mowing pattern pretty often.

First and foremost, great looking lawn already. Secondly, my bermuda lawn in south Louisiana the last couple years has been thin in a lot of areas and not just “full” looking. I keep it cut around an inch and have been using PGF Complete. I always hear people say the upcoming months are for “pushing” Bermuda lawn. What product would you recommend to help fill my thin lawn and how often to apply, Temps are at or above 80 F moving forward. Thanks in advance.
Any fert with a high N analysis should help push it. Last year I used the Yard Mastery lineup if you want to go the online route.

What did you do to get it that green and thick? What height are you cutting at?
I really haven’t done much aside from mowing this spring. I’ve put down a little fertilizer, but we’ll under half a pound of N per 1000. I’m cutting at .55”, two to three times a week.

New to the reel mow game. What is the reason of the removal of the wheels and should you do that on all?
that's how a toro greensmaster mower works - uses wheels for transport. the greensmaster is a step up from the entry level reel mowers - in both quality and price.

Can a manual reel mower make it through Bermuda?
I have an American 18 inch reel from Lowe's. It cuts my bermuda just fine. You just got to sharpen the blades regularly.
It will, but it’ll definitely be more of a workout than with a cylinder mower. Might have to make a few more passes as well.
