One thing about Lady Gaga is she’s never boring, you never know what you’re gonna get. Truly talented. At the other end of her incredible repertoire, check out her duets with Tony Bennett. Yep, you read that right....Tony Bennett.

And true her Super Bowl was brilliant with her biggest hits. Born this way became a theme tune for the scottish premier league highlight show for like a whole year and it was epic lol.. we also did a season using darkness.. love is only a feeling.. two tunes that hyped you up for some football highlights lol.. not many folk will know this wee bit of info.. but yeah lol.. 😆😍

There's a secondary meaning to this song, especially after the #metoo movement, you see a lot of examples in this video of Lady Gaga doing "whatever it takes" to get the approval of the people judging her. You see this in some of the imagery here of her getting on the guy's lap, before he pushes the button that sells a ton of her albums (on the computers). In essence the song is about a bad romance with a partner, the video is about her being abused by the music industry and her getting rich off of it.

Timothy I agree. There is more than a “Bad Romance” going on there. It’s sad but very true. You might have seen Lady Gaga in an interview recently when she told her truth. The music she was creating would be taken away from her, burned as a matter of fact unless she gave in sexually to the powers that be in the record industry. In that interview Gaga cried as she stated she was raped and ended up pregnant by her rapist. The examples are there as you stated. She’s been in the business for 20 years. The secondary meaning in my opinion is valid.
isn't she being sold as a sex slave in the video, like some kind of mafia human trafficking thing? She's drugged, stripped and the men are bidding on her to buy her. I love the song, but I just can't stomach any glamorization of human trafficking, with the high fashion, luxury, diamonds and whatnot. Not a video for me.

I'm embarrassed to to admit this, but my mother turned me on to Gaga, she loved her. Her artistry and voice transcend generations. I can't wait to see her perform again.
This was 12 years ago ... I'm looking forward to you listening to how she's evolved since then. So amazing! So many people wrote her off in the early days, but boy, she's shown us all how much talent she has. She's a really amazing jazz singer, an incredible pianist, and is just brilliant. A true talent!

This was the first song of Lady Gaga that I heard and became her fan. She is definetely one of the most unique and talented artists of our time. I recommend "Poker face", "Edge of glory". One of my favourites from her is "I'll never love again" from her movie "A star is born"
Edge of glory is a brilliant one that will get you dancing in your chair, perfect illusion and one million reasons, she has so many good ones, till it happens to you will make you cry.

Telephone and Born this way are my absolute fav Gaga songs. My kid was little when born this way came out, and believed she was either a majestic blue wolf or a fierce kitty, depending on the day. The line about put your paws up, spoke to her soul. Plus her grandma was (was bc she recently passed away not bc she renounced the gay) a lesbian so when I explained what the song was about she was even more in.

I lived in the States two years, and I watched the Superbowl (halftime show) twice. I remember that one year it took Beyonce, Bruno Mars, and Coldplay to fill the stage. In another year Lady Gaga did the whole show by herself. Hers was better, imo (and I'm not a really big Gaga fan)

one of my favourite artists, she defined my university years. 'marry the night' is probably my fave music video from her, and the 9-1-1 video is great as well. the hits are stuff like poker face, telephone, stupid love, rain on me, born this way. some of her lesser known songs are amazing too, you and i, dope, joanne, diamond heart, come to mama, g.u.y, there's literally too many to name.
Her "Telephone" collab with Beyonce is definitely in my top ten!

This is her epic, her classic song. She changes everything on every album but I feel that this will always be the yard stick by which she'll always be measured musically. She seems to be focused on her acting career of late.

For a completely “out of character” look at Gaga, check her out singing a tribute to the movie Sound of Music. I get goosies every time I hear it. She is such a talent. You should also check out her acting chops in “A Star is Born” with Bradley Cooper.
That was a moment in time I will never forget. I remember so many people around me saying.. "Oh this is going to be a disaster" and I just sat back and told them all you just wait and see, and I knew that she would show them all. I was right, and to see their faces after she performed was amazing. I cried that night as I thought about how in just one song, on one night she showed the world how talented she truly was. Thanks for reminding me of that fantastic moment.

I haven't heard this song in years since I was a kid, just sitting on the sofa watching the music channel. And watching this song back brought a tear to my eye, because it really put things in perspective for me with how good music used to be back then compared to now. Like, people like ariana grande and anne marie don't come close to the likes of Lady Gaga, and it's too bad kids have to look up to that trash and will never be able to appreciate true musical greatness

I saw her Little Monsters tour about 11 years ago. It was the first concert I'd seen in about 15 years and over the years I've seen about 400. This little lady blew me away! Not only was her singing on point live but the dancing and the Artistry of the entire show was completely incredible! This song is my favourite by her. I also love Dancing in the Dark, paparazzi, a million things and of course everything that she did on the soundtrack to A Star is Born. There is no one like her. She is for sure a triple threat

Multi Grammy winner. She won an Oscar for her song Shallow with Bradley Cooper. Oscar nominated actress. So many genres from pop/dance to Jazz albums with Tony Bennet. Her entire album Joanne is completely different and a masterpiece. Check out her Sound of Music tribute from the Academy Awards. This girl is multi talented and creative and one of the best vocalists of this generation in my opinion and I’m an old person. Please do more of her songs.

She was in the news a lot when she showed up to an awards show in a dress of raw meat. Bless her.... nobody in her school thought she could sing; her music teacher even told her she couldn't sing....they called her ugly.... she took a lot of crap from people....and then she became successful. @Calisparkz2 She really did, her performances and they way she presented herself at awards shows changed the way all the celebrities and pop stars presented themselves. You just have to look up how every main pop girl dressed and performed at the awards shows, everybody was so boring then, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé, Rihanna… they all dressed with just pretty dresses. When she debuted everything on the radio was pop, she made EDM popular and mainstream, thanks to her all the DJs like David Guerra, Avicii… got really famous (I’m not just making this up, there’s an interview with really famous producers saying how ‘The Fame’ changed everything). Also, they way music videos were made, her videos always have a history, she made music videos interesting again. ‘Telephone’ is named the ‘Thriller’ of the 21st Century. ‘Bad Romance’ is named the best video of the 2000. She is MTVs first ever Tricon Award. She really changed everything, you just need to look it up, I’m not making things up lol She’s done so much in so little, she’s one of the most talented female artist right now.
She is so amazing. Her talent is musical..visual. her song A Million Reasons is one of my favorites. Her halftime superbowl showing gives a nice mix of some of her biggest hits.
Just something that I've read that always stuck with me... her first big tour she paid out of her own pocket. If the Monster Ball hadn't done well, she would've lost almost everything, but she believed in her vision and it paid off. Girl has confidence for says....lol.

I've never listened to her this closely or watched a video of her without distraction. I'd say she knew that creating a controversial buzz gets you in the door, and she has more than enough talent to put out songs people would love. She threw together a potion of a little bit of Madonna, some Annie Lennox, add a large amount of Dale Bozzio from Missing Person's, and you have the makings of success. It doesn't hurt that her and Dale are virtual twins. Take a look at Missing Persons' "Destination Unknown" and you'll see what I mean. Thanks for this!

Lady Gaga is, in my opinion, one of the most original artists popular music has ever produced. She strives to be totally original and has created music/videos which, to me, are works of art (albeit abstract art in some cases). You might also want to check out: "Telephone", "Born This Way", "Applause" and "The Edge of Glory". Pure artistic perfection!

I sure hope you'll dive deeper to the Gaga universe. There is literally nothing this woman can't do. Her albums are full concept albums, her singles are catchy hits with top notch production, her music videos are like mini movies, she can act, writes her own music, dances like a pro, literally everything.
There are so many great songs and music videos to react to, but definitely I recommend her first hit "Pokerface", "Alejandro", Oscar- winning "Shallow" and later, when you learn more, "marry the night" and quite recent and CRAZY GOOD MUSIC VIDEO 911! Lady Gaga by poets and lyricist give her credit for this song. There is nobody with this capability in modern times to write words like this. Nobody says it right about what they want in a relationship. People can’t say the right words...they want somebody funny and romantic. She says it raw. I want a bad romance. A tragedy. I not only want you when things are good I want the worst of you. I want you when you’re yelling or hurting or when your baby is sick. Nobody says that. And all her looks in this video: strange, beautiful, weird, alien, crazy like in a mental institution, exaggerated fashion. Ugly fashion. But she’ll take your bad side with your good side. She wants a romance with you not a lie but she’ll take that other side of you. I think this is one of the most well written songs she’s ever done. And we have it to compare to everthing else she’s done and everything else anybody has done. I don’t know if it was hard for her to put out there. A composer calls their songs “babies” before their songs are released. With all this emotional stuff she put in here what did she feel when she let go of it.

About the time this video came out, years ago, my father (age late 60s or early 70s then) and I were people watching. I was commenting on the shoes the women were wearing. My father said, "Those are Lady Gaga shoes." I looked at him puzzled. How would he know Lady Gaga shoes?
I said, "You know who Lady Gaga is?" He said he does. He said he likes her philosophy on life and society.
I'm blown away. How would he know her philosophy of life? I was more in touch with this music and artists than him, and I didn't know her philosophy of life.
I asked him how he knows of her. I mean, it's not the music he likes. He said he read an article in a magazine while waiting in the doctor's office, an interview with her.

Lady Gaga is an amazing performer. She has full mastery of her voice, she plays multiple instruments, writes music, and really makes performance her art. Her dance music is great; "Bad Romance" being one of her best, but to get a real feel for her raw vocals check out her acoustic or piano versions of songs (particularly the ones she did back in 2009-2011).
My fav of lady gaga is "you & I" absolutely gorgeous vocals
