I'm so excited about Terry coming to SF6! When he comes out, I'm immediately switching his voice to Japanese, go to vs. Cpu mode, and have him fight Ryu and Ken!
Yeah that is a very strange absence. It's not that i wanted SF3 newcomers to dominate the SF6 roster like in their own game (which was a big failure because of that) but the total lack of any SF3 char in the whole base roster + 1st dlc wave is impossible to defend. This outcome just gives the feeling that the devs (Nakayama and Matsumoto) dislike the SF3 roster... and it's totally ok to have that opinion, but then it looks like they want to rewrite the SF canon in a way that the SF2 veterans are the stars of this "future timeline" instead of the SF3 chars. They are just the current "bosses" that only came in because Ono left, they must not treat the SF3 chars like that.
The practical result is that in 2.5 years of SF6 the game will only have 1 char from SF3, which is crazy. Another problem of this lacking or unbalanced roster is using the location of Metro City and not adding any Final Fight representative in 2 years. And the worst part: after the dlc season 1 is over we are fully aware that these devs actually decided not to have any SF3 char even over 1 year and no FF char even over 2 years, yet they decided to use Rashid, Ed and these newcomers like Lily, Marisa, Manon, etc. And it's not even that i hate all these new chars, but there's no way to deny that the priority should have been using at least 1 char from SF3 and 1 char from FF in the base roster or dlc season 1. There's no way to defend the building logic of this roster. Like, these devs sat down, brainstormed, and decided to make a game in the future timeline, in Metro City... then built a roster that has nobody from SF3 and FF in the base roster + dlc season 1. It's ridiculous.

This is not a well planned lineup to me. Like, if they decided to add Terry and Mai to SF, that is a tremendous historical event in the history of the genre, then at least make a good use of the other dlc slots with hot picks that wont feel completely overshadowed. Like Makoto or Dudley instead of Elena, since those two are among the most popular SF3 chars... and they even skipped SF5. Elena is not very popular and that's why she was one of the last debuts in SF4 and skipped SF5, while the first SF3 chars debuting in SF4 were Dudley, Makoto and Ibuki.
If SF6 were to get more guest characters, first of all I only really want one more. And if we do get it, make it either a Tekken character, or an Arika character. I vote for Skullo Mania.
Okay love crossovers but they should have added more Final Fight characters and Rival Schools. Cause they are going to make a game with SF6 vs FF. How about a Dark Stalkers revival cause I am waiting for that with new ghouls and monsters from different folklores in the game as well as monsters they brought up in other games.
To me a 3rd SNK char is too much. Even 2 chars looks too much. The ideal plan in my opinion would be to release 4 guest chars total through the years: FF, TK, SC, SF EX/FEXL (any order). So one historical rival, two important 3d games, and a game that is a half sibling of SF.
Does it though? I got sick of MK because it lost its identity and was only about bringing in guest characters. Fuck immersion or sone sense let’s bring movie characters into the fighting game- Dumb and it waters down their identity
Stop dreaming. Terry's move set is amazing, but stronger than Ken and Ryu.....not in a million years. Every Fighting has ties to or has been completely inspired by Street Fighter including Dragon Ball Z, Killer Instinct, Mortal Combat, Fatal Fury, Naruto, Power Rangers, Fist of the North Star, etc. Oh by the way...... Splinter can easily beat Terry Bogard.
Honestly I wish they put Yuri sakazaki instead of Mai to celebrate both fatal fury and art of fighting. I would say Ryo but I'm assuming they put Mai because they wanted another girl hence y I said Yuri rather than ryo.
Yuri would be better also because she is more popular than Ryo, and she isnt as shoto-like as Ryo. She has an odd execution of her martial art, which avoids direct comparisons to shotos and especially the accusations of "shoto saturation". She is less similar to Ryo than Sakura compared to Ryu, because she has weirder unique moves like that grab and slap, that makes her moveset stand out much more.
What, you don't like the new 12 year old small child with the huge forehead and big sticks? or the Middle Eastern guy they shoehorned in AGAIN because of funding and corporate pressuring from the Saudi PIF? I'm shocked.

The lack of third strike characters in a game which is after third strike is criminal
There's 4 already; (Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Akuma) Elena will make it 5 and that's a quarter of the 3rd Strike roster.
