Guys I love Akuma as much as you do and he is my fav character in all of SF but he doesn't beat Liu Kang even in his base version. Akuma at his strongest scales to Island level while Liu defeated way more powerful threats such as Shao Kahn, Shinnok, The Flash, and Kronika(before you attack me for saying the flash, it is confirmed that Mk vs Dc is both canon to Mortal Kombat and Injustice). Fire God Liu is an overkill since he is the god of time, he created all realms and can spawn black holes out of nowhere. You can count Akuma's Asura's Wrath, Darkstalkers and MvC feats but they are not canon. So saying Akuma wins is just overwank.

They already had a very popular Final Fight Andre the Giant inspired character with Hugo. Why they wanted to nullify him with an ever bigger new version of him is beyond me.
