- Today Travis Barker welcomes Architectural Digest to Calabasas, California for a tour of the understated, modern home he shares with his growing family. It's been a busy spring for the perpetually in-demand musician - Barker recently produced Machine Gun Kelly’s latest album Mainstream Sellout (which hit #1 on the Billboard charts) and is currently in the studio working on his own label DTA Records, a joint venture with Elektra Music Group. When he decided it was time to refresh the feel of the home he’s owned for 15 years, his mother-in-law Kris Jenner suggested he reach out to Waldo Fernandez, a perennial fixture on the AD100. Barker admits that the restrained vibe he arrived at is a bit of a departure from some of his previous residences. “I’ve had homes with lots of flashy cars, murals, and bikes hanging from the ceiling. But with three children of my own, plus Kourtney’s kids, this place felt right for this moment in my life."

@@CaptainCassidy well for a lot of people that’s not always the norm. I grew up in a dysfunctional family and we never had dinners together. It’s also not always easy to have dinners together if you are busy all the time (celebrities, entrepreneurs, business owners, etc.) so I think it’s awesome to see someone with a busy lifestyle who prioritizes that.
This is actually a masterclass in how to design with black, keep it masculine but not overly masculine. It’s a great balance of keeping it feeling homey and not cold while still having a strong black palette.

This was the best celebrity tour I've seen. Not cause his house was the best but because he truly appreciates everything he has and has sentimental values allover his house, but also a gorgeous house specially pool area. This is totally my vibe, I love the minimal aesthetic. I'm a bit surprised it's only a one-story house, it doesn't seem nearly as extravagant as I expected.

He was involved in an airplane crash in which only few survived , he was burnt very , very badly . He never travelled by flight after that accident until Kourtney came in his life and supported him and travelled with him everywhere by flight and helped him to overcome his fear of flying , he still relive those scary moment but is in a far better place than he was , he is a beautiful soul and behind those tats are badly burnt marks and he went under tons of surgery too. I wish them both a beautiful life ahead together and forever .

I like this tour. Travis doesn’t seem pretentious like most I’ve watched before. Of course I know the house has been cleaned and staged for this tour but the way he described each room with the memory of his kids and family makes one think this house is well-loved. For being a minimalist house, it packs a lot of character and reflects his creative and calm vibe.
I rather live at his house than Kim Kardashian house. This is a perfect example that even if you have the money you don't have to have such huge house that feels like a museum instead of a HOME.

Yeah, and let's not overlook the fact that he mentioned EVERY SINGLE artist's name that he knew of, and talked a bit about their work. I think that's the difference between a client who says "do whatever you want" to an interior designer and one who actually has a vision and wants something truly unique to be created because it's personal to them.
Me too, I really picked up on that too and felt impressed to hear him deliver his fervent eulogistic ode to Mr Fernandez's creative talents. Also, going by the comment section I'm the only person who picked up on a very strong modern Japanese influence in his home. Obviously, it's a hybrid of many tastes and incorporates a more local vernacular too but the whole time I was watching I thought, 'oh, so many Japanese people would LOOOOOOVE this version of California'. Lovely home. Not my taste but I think it's just gorgeous.

He’s always been very quiet very humble, Tom and mark would be chatty Kathy and Travis sits alone in a corner air drumming, that’s just him, when I heard blink in 1997 I was hooked! And then Travis replaced Scott and the sound just became so different way more rhythmic but he has so many styles. Transplants, working in hip hop, expensive taste, yelawolf, now mgk he is a very well rounded musician and human. If you haven’t listened to boxcar racer pretty much my favorite, you’re missing out!!
