I like the tech boost mechanic, but they need to balance it better if it they're going to bring it back for Civ 7. You shouldn't be able to build warships and rockers while you only have bombards, which existed some 600 years ago.

I was just amazed that I had some tech advantage over the AI. I guess it depends on what you make a line for in the tech tree.
