Thanks for sharing. I’m honestly blown away at the amount of damage. I understand the motor was being pushed beyond its intended limits, but this level of destruction is entirely beyond my comprehension, honestly. I recently bought a 2023 2.7 F150 because of how robust the engine was supposed to be. I don’t really have any plans to push it very hard but I’m a bit concerned that the block might not be quite as bulletproof as people are claiming it is. Regardless, I seriously love your content and please keep up the great work man!
Thanks for the support. This motor is very robust. It took years of abuse from my never ending quest for power. I’m surprised it held as long as it did. I was thrashing it hard, with over 300 horsepower above stock, so take that for what you will. As long as you don’t go above 450-500 horsepower at the crank, you will have a reliable motor that will last 100s of thousands of miles.
@@BoostKingMatt I appreciate the hell out of that reply. Great points, too.
@@Fitzee3 These are one of the best engines Ford produces right now. I wouldn't be the least bit scared of it.
OOOhhhh carnage! The clean status is quite impressive.
I was wrong about the “coolant jacket” that is incorrect. That’s an oil return jacket for certain stuff.
Were you running 12.5:1 compression and the 100% methanol injection pump suddenly failed causing catastrophic engine failure?
What kind of power broke that motor that is supposedly stronger then all the other motors
600 hp with custom built turbos. Double the factory configuration.
@@FanaticalKilla it’s crazy how a Honda motor with less displacement can handle even more than that without breaking.
For how long though? Matt pushed this thing hard for a while. I think with pistons and rods it could have pushed the Turbo Bay turbos to the max reliably.
@@FanaticalKilla yea I am still impressed with this little 2.7 ai bought one because of all the praise of the 2.7 I don’t need the 3.5 and the cam phaser issue kind of scared me away from the 3.5. I had a hemi before so the 5.0 was out of the question
How did you blow the engine my 2.7 is making 500 at the wheels now just curious lol
Mine was making around 540 at the wheels. It just couldn’t handle the power after a while.
Pump fuel?
@hellcatd4721 no, the rods just couldn’t handle the power anymore. Too many pulls haha
