The Hu had already released “A Women’s Song” when they asked Lizzy to collaborate with them on it. The part she sings, she wrote., love it. The Hu has many songs to react to, they just released a new album.

Glad you found this one. Lizzy is a powerhouse, and HU Band is mesmerizing. If you watch any of their entirely Mongolian songs, do it with subtitles - the lyrics are very culturally relevant. I use them for both meditation and workout.

This almost brings me to tears every time I hear it. My mom is gone, but I remember her whenever I hear this song. I am reminded of how she was an important influence in my life. I miss her. I was a problem birth, and my mom literally risked her life to bring me into this world.

Powerful tribute to women, and great that it is real sounding men who are backing the singer. Illustrates that this is not a competition, that strong men get to celebrate strong women and if so we are all lifted.

It is a beautiful tribute song. I pulled this as the translation of what The Hu was singing along with Lzzy Hale’s words. (Link included, I don’t how accurate the translation is.)
    [The HU]
It is said that a coconut tree grows flowers
It was heartbreaking to sing softly
    Honorable lady
    Compassionate
    [Lzzy Hale]
I am bones and I am skin
I am home, where life begins
I’ve started wars, I’ve given peace
Across the oceans, I carry the seed
    I’m your lover
    I’m your mother
    I’m your sister
    I’m your daughter
When Kings fall to their knees
    They sing a woman’s song
When birds chirp on the trees
    They sing a woman’s song
    The sunrise in the east
    Sings a woman’s song
    Every heart that beats
    Sings a woman’s song
    I am fire
    I am water
    I am empress
    I am thunder
    I am flower
    I am wonder
    I’m the object
    Of your desire
    I am beauty
    I am grace
    I am faith
    [The HU]
Birds chirped in the eternal blue sky
It is said that you will have fun in your heart
    (I'm faith)
    Honorable lady
    Compassionate
    [Lzzy Hale]
When Kings fall to their knees
    They sing a woman’s song
When birds scream in the trees
    They sing a woman’s song
    The sunrise in the east
    Sings a woman’s song
    Every heart that beats
    Sings a woman’s song
    [The HU]
It is said that the Argalkhan mountains are covered with holes
It seems that those who are close to him will be moved
Birds chirped in the eternal blue sky
It is said that you will have fun in your heart
    Yes
    [Lzzy Hale]
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song

This band is awesome! I have no clue what they’re saying half the time but they’re badass! When I left Afghanistan we flew out into Kyrgyzstan and it’s the heart of where the Mongolian empire was although the country is a part of the former Soviet Union it’s made up of a lot of Mongolian folks. The throat singing is a special kind of cool. Check out their song Wolf Totem. They also participated in Metallica’s Blacklist tribute.

FYI the CC to English works for their songs beautifully as the "HOO" band (Hunnu Rock, Mongolian) create them personally. I've been a fan of their music for a while now and there's so much to learn.

The mongolian traditional music has rithm that remebers a horse galloping, they fuse the traditional mongolian rithm and throat singing with actuall pop, rock... and the instruments are also traditional mongolian instruments but some of them are electric.

1:51 The HU are Mongolian, there is no violin, the instruments you hear are the Morin Khuur (Horse Head Fiddle), they have 2 “strings” each made from the tail hairs from a horse (traditionally the hairs come from the player’s own horse to bind the instrument and player to each other), the “Male” (or thick) “string” has 150 hairs and the “female” (or thinner) “string” has 130 hairs.
The 3 string instrument is a Tovshuur (Mongolian Lute)
The style they sing in is Mongolian Throat Singing.

Speaking as a man, I appreciate how we can brake down and be vulnerable to a woman when we have to hide all emotions around everyone else. The power of a woman is much more then education or anything else contributed to advancing our world. A woman ( wife, girlfriend, mom ect.) Is someone anyone no matter ur gender can be free with and open up.

And Lzzy Hale (no i) is a powerhouse with subtlety and huge power 3 times crazier than u heard here. Her band Halestorm is excellent. I Am The Fire, Back from the Dead, I Love the Misery are good starts. For the Hu, Wolf Totem, Yuve Yuve Yu, Sagaan Essene are good intros

I’ve listened to a lot of The Hu, it’s something that you don’t need to understand, it’s primal, tribal or whatever you want to call it, like you said it makes you sway in a rhythm, almost trance like. Almost a true universal language 🤘🤘 I never tire listening to them 😃

6:37 Honestly, most Warrior cultures valued Women (admittedly or not), examples like the Vikings, Spartans, even the Mongols not only valued women, but women were almost as much warriors as the men.
Man has always tried to be in charge, women think the world would be better if they were, yet we both forget that we were made to complete the other. Where Men are (mostly) strong Women are weak, and vice versa. Men aren’t emotional whereas Women are, what men lack women have, and again vice versa.
When men can raise women up as equals/partners and we work TOGETHER as we were meant to, I believe great things can happen.

A lot of people comment on the beat. They call it "hypnotic". So, consider this: the Mongols lived in the greatest open plain in the world. They became the greatest horsemen in the world. Their entire culture was constructed around dominating that great plain on horseback. Now, think of how a horse "lopes" when running long distances. It doesn't trot. It doesn't gallop. It doesn't cantor. It doesn't walk. It lopes. The HU's musical rhythm is the same as a big, powerful horse loping across the vast Eurasian plain with the sky's great blue bowl arching overhead.

The 2 stringed instrument is called a Horse Head Fiddle. The strings are made from the hairs from their horses. One string from a male horse, the other string from a female horse.
