Here is a junk journal I have been planning on making for a long time! It has an Alice in Wonderland theme and I had a lot of fun making it. I hope you enjoy seeing it.
I just came across your video so I know I am a little late in commenting, but i had to comment- this is AMAZING!! I am a BIG fan of Alice in Wonderland, so this gave me a lot of pleasure to watch!! You did a wonderful job!! I have done a lot of journals, mostly art & mixed media, but am now just getting into “junk” journals.. Although I understand why they call them junk journals, so many of the ones I have seen are just beautiful, it pains me to call them junk journals! I was showing my Aunt & Dad an example of one the other day, (they are in their 70’s) - They LITERALLY thought I was going to get garbage and make one! I was laughing so hard!! My Dad learned that Buffalo check was basically Plaid or flannel this last Christmas so he told my Aunt that now a days things are called “weird Do dads” and to just nod and smile, the end result was pretty! Gotta love them! Anyways thank you for sharing! This is absolutely on my list, I only hope mine turns out HALF as beautiful as yours!!

yet another gorgeous journal creation by you! Alice in wonderland has always been my favorite of all the disney movies as well as i have always loved the original book! May 4th 1865 is the date Alice first fell down the rabbit hole btw! little fact incase you didnt already know! ;) Thanks for sharing, I adore your work!

I love your Alice in Wonderland journal. I have been collecting for over a year for Alice related materials. I can't tell you how many hours I have spent searching for Wonderland books to use on pages, cover, etc. all to no avail. I plan on starting mine soon, just have not decided on papers to use. Like your choice of antique looking wallpaper papers. I hope you don't mind if I borrow an idea or two from you. This journal will be for personal use. Thank you for sharing.
Wow, I think my head is going to explode! Diane, how do you even find a stopping point with all the stuff that is available to use?! What an amazing journal! Now my mind is flooding with ideas about making my own themed junk journal.But I am curious as to what you will use a journal like this for, that is so obviously themed. I mean, do you journal about your thoughts about Alice in Wonderland? (Because who doesn't have a journal full of thoughts about that??) or will you use it for everyday journaling, or what? I have a hard time even scrapbooking because the papers and materials have their own personalities and energies and I don't like that interfering with my memories that are contained in my photos. I wonder how it would be to try to journal in something that has such a strong personality of its own. That is why I am wondering how you will use it. Thank you for sharing, you are really an inspiration and even if I never make my own, I really enjoying looking at yours! (As you can tell I am making my way through all your videos - I just can't help commenting on each one!) Each one is such an amazing labor of love.
Chelsea, I am so glad you are watching and enjoying my videos. I love to get comments. I have some themed journals that are for very specific purposes. For example, I did a swap for a vintage Hollywood movie star journal, and I will be using that to write about my favorite movies, actors and actresses, etc. Even the list of Oscar nominees and winners each year. I have 2 journals about books, and I am using one to keep a list of books I read each month, along with good sentences and quotes from those books. The other I am just using for quotes from books that I am not necessarily reading right now. And now I have 2 Alice journals: this one, plus one that Oonagh deSilva made for me in our swap. Hers is so gorgeous! I will probably use the one I made just as a regular daily journal, but I think I need something special to do with Oonagh's! Haven't figured it out yet.

Wow! That was really intense. Did you stamp all the images in the corners and top edges of the pages? That detail alone makes the book, in my opinion. I love all the papers you used and the way they complement one another so perfectly. It's amazing how cohesive something with that much going on turned out. You continue to inspire me. It's coffee dyed paper. I made a strong (very strong) batch of coffee (instant) in a cake pan, then dye my papers, tags, etc. in it, to make it look old.
Is there one Alice in Wonderland journal that contains a wallpaper of all the characters on two pages and Alice's older sister is standing next to the Queen of Hearts in the bottom right-hand corner of the page?
