    Quick question cause I really need it 😅. For a budgie, do you have to force your bird out of the cage on the first week or do they have to come out willingly with you?? Because if you’re not supposed to force them out, i don’t know how I would do it because if I were to stick my hand it the cage, or even just put treats near my bird, it goes crazy, so the only way I would be able to get it out would be by forcing them out. I’m scared I’m just gonna have my bird grow up terrified of me.

    • @BirdTricks
      @BirdTricks  Před 2 lety +1

      It is designed to be used during planned outdoor flights. Not sure a bird would tolerate 24/7 and would most likely end up chewing on it. Battery life is also an issue and would need to be changed constantly.

    This is off Topic but has anyone ever had problem getting home owners insurance when you have parrots? My fiancée and I are moving and purchased a home in FL, I am not sure if this is just an issue in FL, but we called a few insurance company, a couple of big companies like Progressive. They asked if we have any pets, I have an Illiger's Macaw, because of him I was not eligible. I told them I can get pet insurance for him so they don't have to have him under home owner insurance they said no, I am ineligible just because I have him. Surprisingly they will accommodate dogs but not parrots. Right now he is at my parents, I don't think they have him under their home owners plan, and I don't want to call the company and have them cancel because of him. Any suggestions?

    • @medea27
      @medea27 Před 3 lety +3

      You might have resolved this by now, but this doesn't sound right - if you are insuring your property it's normally the building and/or contents you're insuring against major damage/loss such as flood, fire, theft, etc. It might be different in Florida but that's pretty standard across the home & contents insurance industry - you're _not_ insuring yourselves or your pets, nor any damage _done_ by yourselves or your pets. Important details for your insurer are things like which suburb you live in, do you have a house alarm, do you live on a flood plain - it's irrelevant if you own a parrot because you can't claim for any damage done by a parrot, or a dog, or any pet. You mentioned pet insurance which is also completely separate because it's health insurance for your pets - not insuring the property. The only possible reason I can think of to ask about pets is if you have special structures that you're wanting to cover, like an aviary - but normally the insurer will just ask for additional premium to cover it, not use it as a reason to avoid taking your money! This sounds really dodgy to me, because having pets is irrelevant to most insurance policies - I'd check out comparisons online to see what's going on.
