    I have an EcoDiesel Wrangler Willys, and it is great on road and off road. I don't know why people repeat automatically that it is not a good daily driver whenever they try to review it. Yes, JK was not that good on the pavement but the JL is pretty good on the pavement.

      Actually it’s the same price as the automatic on the gas engines

  • @fun2drive107
    @fun2drive107 Před 3 lety +2

    Skip the sliding 4000 roof, the leather, the wheels, steel bumpers and a lot of other things and it drops the price where it might be bearable. Yes I am getting the Sahara with the diesel but without all the added items which I have no use for. 8 spd transmission is needed because the majority of buyers want that. Maybe in the future but who knows. My JGC which is a 14 with the Ecodiesel has gotten as much as 33 mpg and as low as 22 but on the average around 27-28 mixed driving. This thing should get 30 mpg and unless you keep it 200K miles you will never get the payback over the gas engine. So what most of us diesel guys don't buy the diesel for fuel economy but for range. I would expect this to go 500 miles easy before fill ups. You are spot on about FCA having just about the best HMI with the controls and displays. Worst has to be Honda and Toyota of which I own and have owned.

    • @JH-tj9jd
      @JH-tj9jd Před 3 lety

      You will get most of your money back for the diesel upgrade when you sell it. The better fuel economy is a bonus. I think most people buy it for the torque especially if they're going with bigger tires.

Not unless Cialis, Stialto or whatever the hell the Companiy's name is brings back a newer version of those two Jeeps with the same quality AND PRICE. interesting there are many complaints about no manual it's a bit comical really...
    what these one-sided so-called drivers forget to consider is 85 to 90 percent of the people now days cannot drive a manual so the carmakers do what is convenient to them and sometimes cheaper I have had dealerships tell me the standard shift is not as economical which in its self is really stupid because if one really knows how to drive the standard is better than the automatic... I started on standard shifts when in high school the first car was 3 on the tree the n4 on the floor... another thing not considered due to injuries, etc I cannot drive a standard shift so the auto is better for me then again the one-sided people do not consider that

    It's GREAT if you're one of the very few who can, "have it all", unfortunately life is rarely like that. Life is about trade offs...............getting A, but having to forgo B. That being typed, the tablet-sized "entertainment system", Apple Car Play, USB ports, etc. are 'nice', but I'll take bullet proof engine, transmission, electrical component reliability, and quality sheet metal and welds, ALL DAY, EVERY DAY over heated steering wheels, tablets, USB ports, cup holders, etc.
    I have not read any reliability rankings however, anecdotally, I see a disproportionate number of late model Wranglers (and other Fiat vehicles) on the side of the road with their hoods up. I like a rugged, masculine-looking, body on frame, off-road capable SUV more than anybody, but I've never driven Moab and never will. Give me a solid, old-school 4 wheel drive system and a decent amount of ground clearance and I'm happy.

      Sham Rock He is definitely a fake Jeeper or at best a brand new Jeep fan. For example, he started by making a point about the location of the hood stand being part of the hood... he reacted to the ride quality being poor while the JLU has a very nice ride quality (it rides just like a modern pickup truck and not like a car) compared to the last generation JK. Jeepers react to these sorts of comments. He is not a Jeeper. Also, he never referred to it as a JL, made no comments about JKs or older TJs. He made no comments about the mechanical capabilities like the diff locks or the swaybar disconnect, the gearing etc. A “Jeeper” would always make comparisons and references based on past experiences with older Wrangler (JK or TJ etc) models. This was a review by someone who got an opportunity to test drive a fully loaded Rubicon and made a review video about it.
