  • We go through the startup of a 1993 BM triple chair. This includes the inspection of the lift and checking all the systems. #chairlift #skilift #skiequipment

I have no idea how I ended up here, but I'm not complaining. Thank you!

I used to do this job in Maggie Valley NC and in Gatlinburg TN. My favorite part is the morning ride around. Excpecally coming down on the light side. The view from the one in Maggie Valley was amazing and so was the one in Gatlinburg! The light side on the Black Ski Lift is amazing where it skips 4 towers, just down hill of the mid station!

I hope you did fire the evac engine up later. Unless it isnt a needed safety check to be done daily.

By law the evac must be fired up and checked weekly, and power off engaging the lift line monthly. We do that with our monthly brake checks but we do fire up the evac as part of our morning checks.

What is the "Resume" button for?

Resume brings the lift back up to its full speed after a slow command.

There is video still on YT from Russia I believe. The lift had obviously not been maintained and the anti roll back failed . Absolutely awful as it literally ran backward at a high speed and people who didn’t jump were crushed under the Bull wheel by chairs jamming up underneath it. I worked at a resort for a while and this gentleman here is on his game... You have protocols and inspections along with scheduled maintenance that are either done by the book or you have a catastrophic event . I got to learn quite a bit. Riding up on a work platform. Doing maintenance. Interesting engineering.

The Doppelmayr lift rolling back and ejecting people was from Armenia, and NOT badly maintained. It rolled backwards because the operator manually pumped the bullwheel brake open, while the hydraulic engine (used to evacuate the lift after a power failure), was not yet engaged with the teeth on the bullwheel.

@@shawncosmos5431 You can disagree as much as you want, but the official final report says otherwise, and you also got the country wrong. I'd post it here, but CZcams doesn't let me attach pdf files.
(also modern lifts do not have anti rollback with a ratchet, it's all done electronically with the service brake)

@@MrOpenGL Not sure we’re discussing the same thing…The incident I’m referring to occured on March, 2018 in Gudauri, Georgia not Armenia.
