How to Backup and Restore your Samsung Smartphone (Contacts, Messages, Settings, etc)

  • In this video, I am going to show you how to backup and restore your Samsung Smartphone. All Samsung smartphones such as the Galaxy S10, S9, S8, Note 9, and Note 8 have the same built-in method for backing them up.
    Each backup backs up phone call logs, contacts, messages, settings, home screen settings, and more. It basically backs up a replica of your smartphone so if you ever lose your phone or damage it, you can restore everything and move on.

    ok, this is for those who dont appear the samsung section to back up and restore, here is the way to do it:
    1- first of all you have to sign in into your samsung account on the device you want to restore, once samsung account is ok on your phone ... lets go
    Settings > Accounts and backup > Accounts > [your Samsung account] > Services > Samsung Cloud > (scroll down) and youll find the three options {1 Back up this phone, 2 Restore data, 3 Delete backup}
    Hope you find this helpfull, this was on my samsung galaxy s10+, but it should work on other devices
    thanks

      I am locked out of services. I can only back up to google or use smartswitch on Verizon note 8. A horrible decision. I bought Note 8 to have separate backup FROM google. I never imagined the Note 8 from Verizon had been totally reconfigured. Note 9's are the same. Basically google raided all my private info I had previously stored separately. Screwed up lost, duplicated, contacts, you name it...Verizon said all I can do is turn off google backup and do manual backups. All files are now everywhere. I don't see how it could be legal. Evidently if you previously owned a Samsung you were not affected. This was my first, bought specifically to keep a backup of contacts, calendar, texts in a separate account as Verizon backup sucks and I didn't want google to be my only back up (or have access to everything on my phone).

What is the best way for Mac desktop/laptop users to get their iTunes music library synched up or onto their Android phone? Would love to see what you recommend both how to do it manually and how to do it with software/sync somehow if possible. Thank you.

My phone got fried so I'm trying to get all the content, and all I get are reloaded empty apps. Can you comment, whether for a save this time, or a save next? Thank you

    I deleted a single text from one of my contacts 2 days ago; i had intended to do so. Later, I went in to save a pic from another contact/text to my gallery and all those texts had been deleted. I then checked my conversations and every text that I had from all my contacts with whom I text had been deleted! I have been trying to retrieve all the deleted texts without success. I did have all my backups in place on my settings. Is there a way to use, for example, the SD card or Google or other method where text messages are kept or "hidden" to retrieve? This video was quite informative as we are comtemplating purchasing another phone. Thank you. God bless you.

    Hi, I am preparing in advance if I one day lose my phone or if my phone is completely faulty screen black cracked/dead, I want to recover everything to a new phone e.g. photos, sms, whatsapp, telegram, call history, app settings, chrome bookmarks/opened tabs/history/downloaded pdf/files after I have lost access to my old phone. May I know if I follow every step in this video, is it enough to recover everything (latest updated data exactly like the day I lose the phone) from the old phone back in a new phone? If no what other stuff do I need to do? How to schedule an auto daily full backup of Samsung Account backup and Google Account backup? 1:41min, you mention samsung backup is more detailed, after I lose my phone should I restore backup of Google account or Samsung account first? I wonder if Samsung restore will overwrite Google restore backup or vice versa to cause corruption or missing data. Thanks a lot
