"Meet Hanako at Embers" - every Cyberpunk fan has read that more than anything else in the game, because we do not want it to end. I say ghost off Hanako, I've got a city to burn.
I mean, you can play through the endings and go right back to that "meet hanako at embers" point when it's done
And now, Hanako will be sitting there at Embers for weeks, while Mapo pays a visit to the lovely Dogtown.
And playing piano. When we finally get to her, we find out she left Arasaka and became a pro pianist instead. Special hidden ending.
My hanako has grown algi on her ass waiting for v lol
A lot more than just Dogtown.
@@NoName1462 Yeah, there's still the Rogue quest line, The Kerry quest line, And a bunch of other side quests and gigs.
yeah thats why i usually like to start PL earlier, so both storylines progress together, more cohesive and makes more sense, otherwise it kinda brakes my imersion given that by nocturne op55n1 youre practically dying
Time for Mapo to get used to reading MEET HANAKO AT EMBERS
Mapo i love your playthroughs specifically for the pacing of it!! you always manage to do the quests and stuff in such a cool order, makes for a great watch. Keep it up, choom
Lol I love the idea of V just standing in the middle of the lobby of her apartment building texting in her underwear and everyone else just walking past like it's normal.
We've all done it multiple times. Those NPCS have got to be used to it by now XD
That's just how New York is
One of my favourite moments in the game is just before the oda fight you can lean on the balcony and watch the floats and listen to the music. It's such a simple thing to add but i remember being in awe of how beautiful this game can be sometimes.
JEEZ, you saved Takemura. Im glad you checked upstairs! Gooood. I love Takemura, hes dope. So many ppl dont save him lol
I was so worried he wouldn’t save him when I saw he was doing this mission lol
My first playthrough I tend to turn off my "video game exploration" and I try and just do what I feel my character would do. So I just bolted out of the hotel without thinking about it twice. Had to save him my next playthrough. :(
Hey in regards to all the comments saying you gotta hurry or they skip certain things. I'd like to let you know I pretty much watch every single second of this playthrough because just like you I absolutely love the vibe of Night City. I've got 100% on this game on multiple playthroughs and I just can't get enough of it. So please just keep doing what you're doing, enjoy the game the way you wanna enjoy it and know there's definitely people here who love your content no matter what! We might just not always be as vocal :)
the NCPD missions split into two; assault in progress and Organised Crime. The first are little street fights that are 4-5 NPCs to take down and read what htey were doing. The Organised Crime ones are mini dungeons basically, with a proper reward, that often goes on your apartment wall.
I think there's a mod to clarify which is which on the map, as currently you have to hover over to see which is which.
Just to clarify there's more unique animations in the other apartments, if you ever do plan on doing another Judy date, do it in another apartment.
At this point you should call yourself bug-hunter mapo lol 11:58
I don't care what you do
I love every episode
I always love how Hanako refuses to maintain eye contact with V until you say something truly interesting, and she lets her guard down and is unable to keep her facade. up.
Also while you're at it, look up the song that is the name of the next mission with Hanako. See if you can make the connection.
@lockekappa500 why have i not thought about listening to songs the quests named after and make connections 😮 it adds so much to the characters, i need a playlist asap 😭
Judy: Hey V can you maybe...
Mapo: The helmet stays on
I love that when Hanako takes over the proxy, the doll completely changes; moves the ashtray out of the way, sits up straight and clasps her hands exactly as we saw her do before. Small detail that really sells the moment.
And yes, if you knock less than 4 times, Takemura opens the door and blows your head off and you have to reload.
No, he doesn't open the door or blow your head off, you just blow up
And then the Doll goes right back to grabbing the cigarette and smoking. Guess it truly shows that there is a complete separation of experiences with the dolls.
@@czaplan1 I think the implication is that he shoots you through the door. I doubt he has some explosive system rigged or something.
This is the episode I have been waiting for.
YEEEESS!!!
We will all become one 😂
@@Shorteagle Because we are all waiting!:p
One of us!
Man V and Shepard has a lot in common
-Both are extremely tough killers
-Both are pretty skilled people
-Both are TERRIBLE DANCERS!
I mean that’s both regardless
Lmao your commentary during the dancing is so funny.
also yeah, V is a terrible dancer haha
You and judy gonna practice yr footwork off camera
i catch myself wanting to use "choom" in irl conversations because of this playthrough 😩
The music during parade quest is so incredible. Cd project never disappoints with the soundtrack and writing
More passion, more energy, more footwork:D
You saved Takemura! Unfortunately I didnt save him when I played through because I didn’t know you could!
With each episode I get to experience new bugs I've never seen before. At this point it's part of the fun.
I hope this series never ends
First time I saw that room with Oda in it I thought "...oh, that looks like a Doom boss arena!" and then that music starts....
I...I never even thought of seeing if River does anything when I use the mirror!
Just want you to know that I, and probably a lot of other people don't mind what and when you do it. You have great commentary and you make the game more entertaining to watch so do whatever you want at whatever pace. I'm sure theres a lot of people who do want to watch everything else other than the main quest.
Max level is 60, so plan accordingly. Keep in mind you still have your one-time reset. Ultimate tier of each branch offers concentrated power rather than thin spread options, so consider which ones you want to advance to max level.
And he was right: it was 50, but the expansion adds 10.
gosh i love how the update made the boss fights more engaging and just overall better !! wish i could replay them over and over again lol
I am here for the ride man
quest marked as "!" are overall the most interesting because cyberpsychos, gigs, ncpd are just fluff on the side that you basically finish in like 3 min
Only if you don't read all the fascinating shards that add so much to the game and connect so many things in NC together, enhancing the lore and worldbuilding to an awesome degree.
Besides that, the combat is so fun that all of that stuff I'd worth doing for that reason alone imo.
54:20 - Does anyone counting how many civilians Mapo killed with his electric implant? Add +1 xD
Glad you stood up for Takamura else it would be unfortunate... I think they really nailed that corporate family business cyberpunk conspiracy with the Arisaka story in this game. I guess Pondsmith was also in with the creative development so it makes sense.
Does anyone ever wonder how it would be to have MIke as a DM in a cyberpunk tabletop campaign?
dude you should begin phantom liberty next episode it's the prefect timing
I still think he should do rogue and Kerry's story. Or maybe use those to break up the lulls in Phantom Liberty
No, you get the most out of phantom liberty if you complete all the side missions because most have references and dialogue that shows up in the dlc. Mapo is the kind of person that likes to get the most out of the game he plays and likes to go slow and take it all in and hates when people rush him, there isn’t that many side jobs left for him to do only really rogue and Kerry’s quest lines and some other smaller ones so it shouldn’t take him that many episodes to do. Just chill and let him play how he wants.
@@Jpow5734 no need to speak for him buddy he started the dlc just how I hoped 🫢
@@tarekabdallah7093disappointing imo, I really think he’ll miss out on quite a lot of dialogue that make the dlc even better.
I think the shotgun you used in that episode is an energy weapon , you can charge your shots with them and release in a good timing for optimal damage , your content is gold btw👌
... i really need to replay the game with a build that includes that damn dash. This is so fun to watch
I just realized that, since you haven't used tech weapons enough, you never charge their shots. They can quick fire like normal weapons, but they loose out on a ton of damage potential doing so.
Unlike Judy and Panam, River is an entirely optional character to meet. If you don't take the first job for the Peralezes you'll never meet him. I wonder if that's why the game gives you some explicit romantic options in texts.
Yeah, the Oda boss fight is one of my favorite boss fights in the game, especially if you're a sword fighter. It's a really rewarding fight that way.
such a sick game. best way to put it
29:15 "We're going to bed at a reasonable hour. " ... " this game is more immersive than my own life" delivered in the most deadpan way is too hilarious Mapo.
Hey man, you do you! I do skip some of the content myself, as long as you keep a mix of content Im happy to watch it, even just bits of it!
Oh and a quick edit. Some power weapons can shoot through walls and cover, give it a try :)
Finished watching - one more suggestion - Meeting Hanako will enable the end game - it will be the final mission. Explore more side quests and especially character arcs. I wont spoil anything, it will be worth it. YOU CAN consider starting the Phantom Liberty as well at this point.
loving this series mapo the goat
I love your playthroughs just the way they are!!!!!
Happy to hear you will do most content. Now I can watch worry free 😅
Your playthrough and commentary is entertaining bro. Can’t wait till you start Phantom Liberty!
just a quick reminder in case you didn't know, you gotta play phantom liberty before the main quest ends.
Had no idea Oda does all that in his fight
By the time I get to him in my runs I always demolish him in seconds before he can do anything
Feels like I've cheated myself out of a cool battle by grinding all the side content first
I decided to fight him fair...pulled out a katana (which I wasn't really spec'd for) and tried to Sekiro the guy. That took me a while :P.
Damn you didnt save before knocking the door and tried to knock once/three times lol. It wouldve been funny.
With my netrunner build, the fight with Oda was much simpler. Disabled his cyberware and gun, hitting him constantly with monowire so I get back RAMs and add some reboot optics and short circuit for fun.
But man, your sword fight was WAY more cooler :D
15:00 - Wakako gives you an extra line if you never open the boot at all, too.
So glad this amazing series is back, have you considered doing a playthrough of Baldurs Gate 3 Mapo? The dialogue and writing is incredible, turn based combat takes some getting used to but its an awesome game overall and right up your alley i think
lmao loved your reaction to the date, very relatable, its def nice thing they added after the fact but its indeed very limiting, what little dialogue you saw is unfortunately all it has to offer, no updating conversations, if anything a few diferent animations for diferent houses but hardly worth doing it a second time. Really wish they had more dialogue together, like small talk about main missions or something. I believe theres a mod for more imersive dates but dunno if youd go that far
At 1:00:25, I accidentally activated my double jump and leapt after that burger 😂
They really ruined that Gig with the guy in the trunk. Way cooler before they added that open icon so you don't know he's there until he wakes up mid drive and starts screaming.
You get a nice bit of extra context to several gigs, scanner incidents and seemingly random encounters involving Biotechnica when you're a Nomad V.
Spoiler:

Alex absolutely deserved getting handed over to the TCs. And Mapo let a certain other Biotechnica suit get off _way_ too easily too by just shooting her.
Probably already answered, but are saving Phantom for after you beat the game? There is a lot of good stuff you get from it that you have much use for if you play it last. Unlike me, who played it last and by the end of the DLC, I had cool stuff and nothing left to do to use it on.
hey man, you should play blackmesa version of half life blue shift. They remade the whole blue shift game and its amazing
Lol that Olive Branch gig was seriously bugged for you somehow. You are not meant to see him in the passenger seat, nor see that hand icon following your car haha.
30:58 - Pressly
Mapo i bet you are way advanced in game, and maybe this suggestion is pointless, but you should definitely get the optical camo for Phantom Liberty !
i find it really odd that people complain about the order in which you play, as someone whos had more than 2k hours in this game, the beauty in each playthrough is maybe doing some stuff in a different order to create a new experience, and what is a playthrough if not another way to experience the game differently, this time with someone else's perception of its immersiveness/experience
also dont get why people would skip through all the stuff, like you talking about how you feel about the story, at that point i wouldve thought theyd just watch a no commentary gameplay video
Are people complaining? How exactly? I think if anything he's doing it in the best order possible. I hate when people push this mission super early, and then have this main mission wait for weeks or months while they do a bunch of side stuff. Whereas Mapo has finished most of the side stuff from what I gather.
36:42 SilverV is REAL 😤
Shineeeeeeee. Also I would avoid Phontom liberty until you are satisfied with the main game. You could land in spoilers for the other endings. Also SHINEEEEEEEEEEE
Mapo, have you ever played The Witcher 3? Or maybe a viewer knows from him mentioning it at some point?
The storytelling and impartiality side content are just as great in that game, and personally even though I absolutely love Cyberpunk, I connect with TW3's characters to an even deeper degree. Part of that may be from going back and reading the books a couple years ago and then replaying it, which adds so much to the experience.
Gameplay is definitely a bit more clunky, particularly movement, but the rest of the game's greatness makes that not really matter imo, also the skill slots are excessively limited inhibiting character building capacity, but there are mods that improve that and allow you to use more of the available skills and are integrated into the games progression pretty well(Slots Slots SLOTS).
incredible* side content
Really not sure what happened there, and YT mobile site won't let me edit my comments.
Takemura is so cute, I love him (Idk if i somehow missed it or just don't remember, but have Takemura ever texted Mapo with off topics, like other characters?)
Do you know you can get two pets that would just loiter about your flat?
Did Mapo EVER used "Charge" on weapons that can be charged? I swear i didn't seen him once charging. Or am I trippin?
Yeah the River flirting immediately after starting a relationship with Judy is weird, happened to me too. Wish they did alternate texting (and mission) dialogue if you're already with someone.
1:03:40 the music in this mission is just incredible.
1:30:40 In my headcanon modded version of the story, V lost her left arm in this fight and had it replaced with a cool prosthetic and it ended up matching Johnny, for better or worse. I prefer more visible cybernetics so it felt like a good place to install the mod to fit with the game.
It’s not weird at all actually it’s quite realistic because he doesn’t know who Judy is because there is no point in the game where you tell him about her and v definitely hasn’t told him that they’re in a relationship so how can he know, you can’t hate someone for being ignorant, you can also just turn him down straight away in the text and during his mission later on so it’s only a problem if you lead him on.
@@Jpow5734 It's not River being weird, it's V who is super flirty with him no matter what what.
I think the flirting is fine, plenty of people who would pursue multiple romances at once and deem it ok. Especially as new as the Judy relationship is. Especially in V's situation. But the one thing I wish they added was a 3rd option for when you're in a relationship that kind of lets the person off lightly while saying you're with another person.
He wouldn’t know though
@@Kingcrimson_1456 I think they meant the option to flirt WITH River. Not that he's flirting.
I would like to know how Johnny can see out of the window in the motel without Vs perception.
He can't, he can only see what V sees
@@lunarvagrant1:51:25 he looks out the window and says “fuck, just one” V can’t see out the window.
@@morpho5539 V can hear the sound of only one car arriving, so Johnny hears the same. There is some dialogue in another mission where Johnny confirms to V that he can't see outside of V's own vision
please do PL first! It adds so much to the game, you'll love it!
DO NOT Meet hanako at embers unless you want finish the game, go for all the side content first and please do phantom liberty, its' SO SO worthy of your playthrough!
To be fair, the game warns you before you enter that this is a point of no return, so I think we're good.
12:37 When your game doesn't have mods and actually work like it's supposed to be then you wouldn't see this and eventually the guy in trunk will start screaming for help and you can choose to ignore him or stop and talk to him like you did before, of course you can talk to him before getting in the car aswell.
Uninstalled mods and it still happens quit the mod blaming already 😂
@@Mapocolops well then reinstall the game and it should work fine, since you're from the future have you started phantom liberty yet? Or are you planning on finishing main game first?
also as another terrible dancer, I love how bad V's dancing skills are
I've played through the latest version of the game three times and have never encountered the bugs that I see here.
You played through 2.12 three times already? That's impressive.
@@lockekappa500 2.0
when I was playing I didn't realize you could even save Takemura and was pissed another character just died off screen. Oops
also as a lesbian I gotta say I loved Panam and Kerry, disliked Judy and didn't care ab River 🥲 the romance options were pain in this game
JFC I hope the people commenting about playing the game "right" are kids, but we all know that they aren't.
When new episode?
You can literally murder innocent people in this game, lord forbid they allow you to cheat right?
It feels like your game is as buggy as my release day playthru. 2.0 was def a lot better. Certain mods maybe?
And to think to this day there are people who think this game sucks and the story is lame...
why is there so much crap on your map? NCPD events only appeared when i got near them, made the gigs and side jobs way more manageable
I just skip the videos or the parts where Mapo does side stuff. It wasn't interesting for me when I played the game myself, so I'm not interested in watching someone else doing all that grind.
My problem with this game is that it is stuffed with meaningless, mindless busy work. The issues with generic open world games have been discussed many times, everybody knows about them. Jim Sterling made a really good video about that topic in the past, so no need for me to tell you what these issues are. That is why I find boring watching Mapo doing the police raid number 46698 and reading endless walls of mind-numbingly texts this game calls "world building".
So yeah, I just come for the interesting parts of the main quest and some of the side missions.
i mean. considering the combat is super fun and there's different ways to play, the mindless NCPD quests are super fun for people who like to play around with diff builds. and the shards always provide new lore !! no matter what it is its building on the world of cyberpunk, and i'm sure there's many hints in those to the sequel we'll get eventually.
Really? You do realize these filler missions exist BECAUSE people asked for them. Especially some of the ones we get in Phantom liberty. I think Cyberpunk does these filler side missions perfectly, because none of them are necessary. They're there as a constant source of combat and exp/eddies. You can ignore all of them and it won't matter at all. So I fail to see what issue you have with them.
If your thinking is that if we had less of these, we'd have way more main story quests, I just don't think thats true. These are copy and paste missions. They dont have unique dialogue or performances.
HOW DO U HAVE SO MANY GLITCHES LMAOO
Most likely mods.
There are plenty of people that comment about their glitches all the time, playing unmodded. It's different for everyone.
@@Mapocolops can confirm the floating people appear in the vanilla game as well :D
We live in the matrix.
I have even more bugs in vanilla than him, lol.
