The correct settings literally make or break the game in my opinion, its amazing how well it looks and plays after following your recommendations, I'd argue it even looks better than just using the stock high / ultra preset, was really sleeping on the dlss sharpness slider. Thank you :)
wow okay ! Thank a bunch for the video. As for my end of the bargain, I went from around 60-80 to 110-125 fps, with believe it or not better visuals in some areas, because I had some settings tuned lower than what you suggested. My CPU is intel 13600K (running at base speeds) and RTX 3070 (8GB, modestly OC'ed). Cheers !
Killer video breakdown! I was already pretty close in my settings, just from a lot of experimentation, and this video will save people a LOT of that time I used. I run on a 3070ti mobile, so I went a little more on the FPS side, like having contact shadows off.
The one that I have off, that I'm immediately going to toggle on, is Lens Flare. I just don't typically turn it on, but the mention of all the neon has me curious to see. Plus, my current FPS floats between high 70s, in the most dense areas, to mid 100s, meaning I have room to add a little more.
You explained how a lot of these settings work in such a clear and understandable way that really demystified how things work for me. Thank you
Thank you so much, went from 60 to 100+ fps after these settings with quality staying pretty much the same
Update 2.1 reduced my performance by 60%. Going default helped a little bit this video made it run like butter. Thank you!
Okay... i was wondering. Played on 2.0 and was amazed i ran around 80 FPS and at a stable 58-60 no matter what. came back on 2.12 and i am down to 45-55 in city, and while combat or in high density areas i drop to even 30, no changes what so ever.
Amazing video dude! I've struggled to find that quality/fps sweet spot since this game came out, but these settings were perfect. I'm on a 3060, and went from running 40-50 frames in crowds and I'd hit 60 at best normally, to 90-100 normally, and 70-80 in crowds.

WTF is wrong with my pc?? I have 3080 ti and can barley get 40 to 50 fps in the city. 70 in the badlands.
@@dima97 Depends on your cpu. And hes probably playing at 1080p.
@@hyperionmetalcore I mean I have 5600 x ryzen cpu so it's pretty decent. I was also playing 1080p too
This worked great for me.
I'm running a RTX 3070 / I5-13600k combo at 1440p and was averaging 61 fps on the benchmark with my ill considered and badly understood config. Following your settings albeit with contact shadows off I'm now getting 119 fps average, with a lowest of 89, and the experience is great in terms of graphics quality and immersion.
So glad to get this nailed just as I'm getting back to the game to experience phantom liberty. Fine work sir, you have another subscriber.
How did you get 120 fps?? I am getting around average fps 44 even after doing all the settings in the vid , I have a Rtx 3050Ti and i5-11400H cpu .. any help?
@@Sh0a1bSaj1dthe rtx3050 is miles weaker than the rtx3070
@@Sh0a1bSaj1d you have the laptop variant of the 3050 which is as fast as like a 1660ti which is 200 times slower than a 3070
Awesome changes. I have been fiddlingwith setting for some time and best i got was 40-50 fps but with your suggested settings i get 70-90.
Huge jump dogtown is not a stuttershow anymore. Thx for the video.
RESULTS:
Ok, as I said below, I was already close to these settings, but I changed everything accordingly to match exactly - except my FOV is on 80, and my sharpness is on 75 (which I actually moved up from 50).
The result was that YES, I did get an FPS boost, probably between 5-10, enough to notice in dense areas.
As for how the game looks - it actually looks BETTER than it did before.
So, with these adjustments, both the look and performance improved. It's all about knowing which settings give you the most bang for the buck, and adjusting accordingly. I really thought I had it locked in, but these recommendations gave me a notable improvement all around.
Thank you!!!
does FOV alter framerate?
@@grayless8887 Yes, in my experience a wider FOV means a lower framerate, since more is being rendered onscreen.
Yes, especially if you ultrawide monitor like me 😭😭
Thanks for the detailed explaining of each setting, great video!
I spent so long trying to work out the best settings and failed. Wish I'd found this video earlier, it was super helpful. Thanks for making it.
This is great seen a few optimisation tutorials now I get a proper boost! And thanks for the ray tracing tips that really make it.
Thanks again
Great video! Glad you explained what each setting does too. I have a I7-13700 and a 4070. The game auto maxed everything and was getting normally 90-100 frames and down to 60 in more graphical intense areas. Now I get 180 and 140 in intense areas.
💀💀💀
Me happy with my 3050 getting good 30 fps on high settings
@@shashwatmali3640its a lie lol about fps
I have 4070ti with good cpu
U cant chance fps for so much
Bro probably turned on dlss 💀
@@D0GLS maybe 1080p
@@D0GLSwhat’s wrong with dlss?
My FPS shot up from 65fps to 90fps on the "Run Benchmark" test inside video settings in-game. That's a 38% FPS boost! I too have a 3090 GPU like the video poster (as well as a i7-10900k CPU), and I more-or-less did exactly what the video poster did except for maybe 3 options which I did different (put on more demanding of setting). This video is gold to get your FPS to skyrocket while also, surprisingly, making the game look even better! Hats off to FourEyes for posting this!
I was using these settings before update 2.1 dropped (running a Ryzen 5 5600G & RTX 3060) and my FPS went from 30-40 to 80-90, then 2.1 seemed to throw my settings out the window. Glad I was able to come back to this!
Dude, THANK YOU!! I run a Ryzen 7 5800x and RTX 3080 and these settings keep me at 100-120 in most cases, between 80-90 on the lower side. so much better now, I was having some issues with streaming it to twitch, those issues are now gone. YOU'RE A HERO CHOOM
For reference, before I was getting 45-60, sometimes even in the 30s, especially in Dog Town, so sitting over 100 without issues is game changing, staying around 90 even with RT reflections on : )
@@TheDarkLordKronenwhat’s your settings dude I got the same setup except cpu is 1 gen below ryzen7 3700
Absolutely best video. Went from 33fps avg to 98 in bench before and after. Game still looks incredible.
Great settings and great video! I just differ on one thing you mentioned about Path Tracing. I've played the game in both rasterized and ray traced modes, the visual upgrade you get with normal ray traced mode is only worth in reflections mostly. But now that I've tried path tracing... OMG it's a totally different experience (visually). Of course you will destroy fps with that setting on, but if you have a nvidia 4070ti or higher, the game is surely playable. I'm running it on that card and getting 50-90 fps without your optimizations! For me the most important thing for any game to look good, is great lighting, and don't get me wrong, cp2077 looks beautiful even in pure rast mode!
100% agree. This is not a game where you need max FPS for latency/accuracy like you would in competitive FPS games.
This game is so beautiful and if you have hardware that can run it, it's a crying shame not to use it.
I'm lucky to have X3D CPU with 4090, so can max everything (path tracing) and still keep perfectly playable frames.
I could care less about getting 20-30 more FPS and losing the visual experience this game has to offer.
Yeah, I’m running a 4070ti on a ryzen 7 2700. Usually have it on ray tracing low when streaming with a fps of 70-90, and without streaming can run ray tracing ultra, even overdrive with 60+ fps.
for me personally I have to say that lighting makes a huge difference in visual fidelity. So much so that I'd rather go with path-tracing on and medium texture quality to balance out the VRAM usage. It runs at usable framrates for me, but I also only use a 1080p monitor with a 3070Ti
I've got an i9900k & RTX 3060Ti on a 4K native screen (42" Sony TV). Was getting 55 FPS with recommended settings, RTX off & DLSS Performance. Went through your guide and now getting 66 FPS with DLSS Quality and RTX off (38 FPS with RTX on). Very nice improvement in FPS and image quality. Thanks for posting this guide. Cheers.
That is incredible, and thank you. I am running an i5-12600K with the venerable 1080Ti, (so no DLSS or Ray Tracing) and previously on High settings. This is 1080p, and I was getting about 64fps on benchmark. I do like motion blur so set this back to High. The rest of the changes, I cannot tell the difference. I'm now getting 84fps with 109 high and 64 low on v2.1, too. This is a brilliant video, thank you again.
Thank you for this video. It really helped me
Running a Core i5-12600K - 32gb RAM - Gigabyte RTX 4070 12GB card with 1440 monitor. Ran with the exact same settings recommended in the video. Benchmark ended up at 166 FPS average.
so easy to follow along with thank you so much
Great video mate! I'm getting an average of 90 FPS after those settings and the visuals are still amazing!
THANK YOU. I needed something line this.
Nice guide dude, well done!! Clearly it does look better to me.
This worked a lot for me! TY!!!!
thx , ur an amazing person u explain everything very clear
About the setting "crowd density", it has a very large impact on fps, cause I tested it out with a config, where all NPC's and cars got removed and I got more fps, a lot more... and no stuttering
So the trade off is either a beautiful ghost town, or an ugly living city, this game was really fun until phantom liberty broke it for me, now things just don’t stop popping in and breaking things.
Helped my FPS a looot. Thank you!
Thank you man, redownloaded CyberPunk and was getting 15fps for whatever reason and followed your guide and getting a smooth 75 your the best!
Great video. Increased not only my fps drastically but my game also looks wayyyy better.
This is one awesome guide to properly running Cyperpunk 2077! Thank you for this man 🙂
My fps took a huge tank in dogtown but these settings made it indistinguishable in terms of fps from other areas in the game, thank you so much!
Well done, it worked for me way better than the default Low Medium High settings. Your recommendations are a real functioning optimozation
Thank you Sir! Went from 55 to 82 FPS averages on the in game benchmark. Running a 3060 (12G) on a Ryzen 7 5800X at 1440p. Much appreciated.
Liked and subbed went from 50 fps to 80 just like that. Thank you good man.
Thanks for the explanation, i like to know such things.
Thanks that really helped me out
I normally run the Hardware Unboxed recommended settings. They show that RT shadows looks no different to pure raster shadows. Raytraced reflections look better than SSR set to psycho
My system is an AUS ROG machine running an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8-core CPU with 16 GB RAM and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 8 GB RAM. When I bought this machine about 2 months ago, I spent an hour in CP2077 playing with the settings and running benchmarks. My final results were: AVG FPS 138, Max FPS 226.
After switching to your settings, my results were: AVG FPS 37, Max FPS 48.
I think the biggest difference was your settings being at native screen resolution, while on my chosen settings, I was at 1920 x 1080 and using the Nvidia upscaling.
Thank you much mate, good guide
RTX 2080 Super (recommended settings) was at a 44~48 fps on the benchmark after tweaking the settings with your recommendations I'm at ~90-95 fps, and I feel the game looks better than it did originally.
Welll explained settings. Thank you
Thank you sir❤👊
Good guide, got me to a solid 70ish fps 1440p ultrawide w ryzen 9 and 3060ti
If you're not playing in a competitive FPS tournament frame rates is not that important, especially in a single player game. It's allot more important to get a stable frame rats. You will feel like it lagging if the frame rate bouncing all over the place even if it's between 60 and 120. Some times it's better to cap the frame rate at a lower Hz than try to get as high number as possible.
if you have a pc like his than yeah but i think this helps lower ends pc more, for example my pc goes from around 55 fps to around 75
for shooter games your priority is to target as many fps as possible but for AAA singleplayer games at the very least 60fps and you are good to go
It's about responsiveness of the game. Mouse input translating into things happening on the screen. Even if you have nvidia reflex on, it will take at least 2 engine frames to change anything on the screen starting with the mouse input, that's 30ms. If you run at 144hz it's closer to 10ms. The game feels more responsive, and you the player feel more immersed. Always aim for more than 60fps. You can get away with much less in something like a slow paced strategy game, but fast shooty action? Aim for 100 at the very least. It feels much better to play.
@@InternetStudiesGuy It's that the AI is too stupid for you to need to be that good in a single player game. Also most players are not skilled enough to even be able to take advantage of that fact.
But the higher resolution and the bigger your screen is the higher hertz you need. However If you play on a laptop with a 17" screen, 4k resolution is a total waist of processing power. You need at least 45" or even 50" before 4k at 120 Hz is required. The human eye can't see the difference between 1080p and 2160p on a small screen anyway.
i need fps for immersion cuz i got some sort of mental disorder
Great info...THX!!! :)
I run 1440p (ultrawide) on maximal (psycho) details, ray tracing, path tracing, DLSS balanced, 50 FPS ----- on 4060 Ti !!!!!!!!! :D
Guys try path tracing, its something jawdropping how the technology can work with the light. Its not that demanding how you think, try it max performance first and then go up with quality.
In fact, the human eye can tell the difference between 50 and 120 fps, but it won't affect the game experience, it will be smooth enough.
I found frame generation introduced input lag. Without gsync that input lag was horrendous, with gsync it far better but still noticeable. I get motion sick so I'm sensitive to input lag.
Also gsync... you want to see the lil blue thing in the corner, which you turn on in the nvidia settings app (not the nvidia experience app) but the option is hidden if the card doesn't think your monitor can support it. And nvidia don't support freesync over hdmi, so the option might be hidden because you need to buy a display port cable.
...and with this video YOU earned my SUBSCRIPTION...good one keep 'em comin'...
Adapted your advice and jumped from 31fps to 75fps. Game still looks good in the benchmark tool. Nice video!
good recomendations overall. the only 2 things id say need a "astrix" would be V sync, and motion blur. V sync unless youre sensitive to latancy or in a competitive game you really should leave that on. save power, temps, and possably noise. unless youre struggling to hit the refreash rate, as it can create stutter in that case. then motion blurr, if you struggle with motion sickness in game try turning on motion blurr. its something youre brain dose to fast moving objects naturally. especially if you sit close to youre screen and/or it takes up a large portion of youre field of view this can help a ton. it can make it worse though depends.
I like to leave the lens flare on in this game because I feel like since I basically have a camera in my eyeball it would probably make sense that you would get a lot of lens flaring happen when walking around the city.
thx helped a lot
I just realized that I don't have to decline a feature. I play with the "Ray Tracing Overdrive" preset with path tracing on and 2K ultra-wide screen resolution and get around 100 FPS. My hardware is good, but not the best (for example, the smallest current CPU). But I chose a 4080 graphics card - and oh my god, is that a beast of a card! I will never regret spending €1500 on it. The good thing is that the card will be enough for the next 10 years (as long as the card doesn't break).
Thanks I tweeted and applied these settings to my Lenovo legion go, averaging 60 fps only because I care about the game looking good too otherwise with lower settings getting closer to 75 fps.
thank you , bro👍
Just the video i needed
Thank u this was awesome I went from about 60-80 to 170 with FG with a 4070 super and 7800x3d
I have a 4060 and use the Frame Regen.. and it does help.. everything on ultra. The dlss, I have off.. makes it look ugly.. maybe its because I am on a 1080p. I also don't like the motion blur
omg bro thanks so much!! helped me to get fps from 17 to playable 55
Waiting for season 6 warzone settings
Thank You!
I’ve got a 3060 ryzen 7 5700x and this really helped my fps
Hi I've just got geforce now ultimate and a Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW3423DWF what would you recommend for the best resolution to run this in? Thanks
Very good video thanks
What settings should i use with i7 8700, rtx 3060ti and 16gb ddr4 (2400mhz) should i completely give up on even the lowest RT settings? i seem to run the game fine without RT for the most part
as someone who gets 90+fps on maxed settings but came from a low end system, this doesnt explain everything in the settings but it does help to those who have an old gtx gpu
thx mate
Bro on my 4060 laptop following your instructions(plus ray tracing) I’m getting able to run 1080p100fps and looks mind blowing.
Great vid 👍🏻
Woah just what i needed, didnt expext so good video about this to exist.
Update: I weny from ~40 to ~70 FPS thanks to it and the game looks waaaay better than what i had on 15 FPS
Update 2: now im at stabvle ~80 after another guide with nvidia settings ang the game looks better than ever
thanks it made my game look really nice
i got a 4060 ti 16gb and a i5 10400F and thanks for helping, this sadly took a bit of the games beauty but gave me 100Fps in addition to my original 80 Fps
I have an i7 7700 3.60 Ghz (Kaby Lake) CPU + 32 GB of RAM + RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6, do you recommend to turn "Nvidia Reflex Low Latency" on "ON WITH BOOST" in my case?
I run this game as high as I can for a 3070 rtx , these tips helped boost me by roughly 10+ fps howver normally i fell like this should increase your fps by about 18fps
Thanks a lot, Definetely going to try this on my 3060 and 10400f combo :)
And?
@@bastiidavis3397 Big increase :)
Thank you so much sir, it really helped boost the fps by almost 45%!!
thx bro
so much better dude thanks
I ended up getting a brand new gaming laptop with a 16 core processor and a 40 series so I just have been putting everything up to max and it runs really smooth. I do not use path tracing tho.
Follow your settings it really doesn’t look different than when I had other settings on high but now game still look amazing & my average fps is 67 high like close to 80 on 4k & high crowd really change a lot in terms of immersion
I am running a 3070Ti (ZOTAC) and AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8-Core Processor. The FPS went from a stuttering 45-60 to a really smooth and clear 120-140.
This remind me of when I played Shadow of Mordor without proper graphics drivers at around 15 fps, watched Total Biscuit the Cynical Brit may he rest in peace, and then updated the drivers and the game ran at over 80fps
About nvidia reflex, turn it off if your processor is not fully loaded, so after it will be faster. If they both work and load 90% on, and 95%+ boost
Was wondering what an average pc would be able to run this game..
I run everything on psycho or ultra but very well explained video! 👏
Once I was blind but now I see!! Nice Work! Thanx!
Well done, thanks for sharing, this game demands a lot of performance, the thing is that it don't look that good, is almost all red in its colors, I have gamed other titles and they look amazing w/o the demads this game calls for.
Finally some good settings! I havent been able to optimize this game until now and can finally enjoy it. Hardware Unboxed just lost a follower and you just gained one sir.
i can have everything to ultra settings on 1080p with dlss and raytracing on and around 130fps stable(benchmark) and playing
yeah.. the power of dlss even on a 4060ti.. but maybe bcs mine is OC 16gb..idk much but seem to be right
Is Ryzen 5 7500f enough for "crowd density" high setting ?
I seem to have lost a lot of the fps gains after 2.1 came out. I used to get about 100fps average, and then 2.1 dropped it to probably around 80 average. Do you think these settings need adjusting for 2.1 changes?
2.1 disabled FSR for me, might need to turn it back on if you were using that
Thank you for the in-depth explanation of everything. With your exact settings I got an average of 132 FPS on my 7900XT GPU and Ryzen 5 7600 CPU. I think I might try turning of AMD FSR thanks to this and play that way.
Edit: With AMD FSR Turned off the benchmark result is 113. So I am keeping these settings (with only AMD FSR turned off). Thank you very much for the video.
should i run a benchmark? or does that not show how the game will actually look?
Hi.
I am not a gamer for a very long time but I want to return soon. Can you explain to me with a simple words again please? I watched tonns of videos about Cyberpunk. I really love Ray Tracing reflections. But I hate how the light after entering the room through the door ricochets every surface and lights rooms too much. Looks like somebody switched some warm color lamp in this room. Can I turn this option of the Ray Tracing off leaving only reflections on windows, water, polished cars? And another example. The night. Standing woman with metal arm. With RT on her metal arm is shining like a discoball. Looks like somebody aimed few spot lights directly on to her arm. I would like to have this turned on. Is it possible?
Basically I am choosing GPU now. The choice is Ray Tracing possibility(RTX 4070) or no Ray Tracing at all but higher FPS(RX7700XT).
I can not check it by myself, because I do not have Gaming PC at all.
Thank you in advance.
P.S. I hope that Cyberpunk 2077 is good as my love - Deus Ex(now it is called GOTY).
GOD DAM IT, I WISHED THIS HAD WORKED. I have long periods of good FPS but randomly it will drop to 20 or less FPS for days with no changes on my end. Is there anything different in 2.12. I'm still stuck at FPS's under 30 at the moment despite watching multiple CZcams videos to fix this. I have a 3080ti, 32GIGs of GDR 4 and a expensive CPU of 3.30 GHZ that handles any other modern games with no problems. I'm so Fukin fed up with this games problems. I hate asking for help because anything anyone suggests does not work because they don't try read. ARRGGG. Again I used all settings that I could in this video.
Motion Blur and Depth of Field are sadly the first options I ALWAYS turn off lol
This video actually went so hard my game looks so clear now
