    IT IS SO WILD TO THINK THAT ALMOST 10 YEARS AGO MOTOROLA WERE ONE OF THE FIRST COMPANIES TO SAY, WE'RE NOT INCLUDING A WALL ADAPTER FOR THE CHARGER AS A COST-SAVINGS MEASURE. Now every company does it, no matter if it's a flagship. Man, have times changed.

I wonder how well the Moto G will do in 2014 when the competition will respond. It's only real loss is no LTE but this isn't aimed for LTE markets anyways.

      I'm still using my Moto G as well [since the end of January 2015]! Just curious: Have you seen or heard about the Motorola E5 series (which has yet to be released in the US)? If you're looking for a similar smartphone in terms of style and 720x1280 screen resolution, the E5 Play might be suitable; however, a significant portion of its built-in memory would probably be used for Android 8 alone. At the very least, the wallpapers for my Moto G would fit on an E5 Play without any alterations. :-)
      * Though the E5 Play battery life would be a little better than the Moto G, the rechargable battery is removable, allowing for a quick swap from a dying battery to a fresh one.

    Hi Marques and to all across the world . Iv`e been using the Moto G 3g 1st gen now for about 12 months and to be honest i can`t find a better phone anywhere near this price bracket ( £120.00 ) .I`m still getting an easy 1.5 - 2 days battery life on normal to heavy usage , the loud speaker is louder than any other phone on the market and the phone runs smooth and fast with no lag what so ever ( kitkat 4.4.4 soon to be lollipop 5.0 ) so what`s not to like about the moto g 1st edition ! I did try the new 2nd gen but even with dual speakers they weren`t as loud and battery life not as good as Motorola kept the same battery running a 5" screen ? If anyone is looking for a really good fast smart phone with no bloat ware overlay - pure android and the important things needed in a smart phone ie battery , hi rez screen , super loud rear speaker , latest firmware ( before all the leading other brands ie sony,samsung,htc etc etc ) and it fits in the hand perfectly for one finger operation then buy the Moto g 3g 1st edition as you won`t regret it .Just one downside and that`s if your into photography then the moto g 1st only has a 5 meg camera but to be fair it`s pretty good all the same !Thank you.

      @laypyu Před 9 lety +1

      Have the moto G for a year now too. For it's money it's still the best smartphone in the market. I'm the type of guy that's into cheap smartphones and that changes a smartphone every 6 months. I had a sony and a huawei before, nothing compared to the powerful smartphone by motorola. I'm just in love with this mobile, really proud of what motorola has managed to produce at such low price. Was thinking of buying the moto G 2014 but thankfully regretted it, if this one dies at some point I think the next best choice is moto G 4G.

    *Probably the best deal of 2013 in smartphones*
    I was a bit disappointed that ***** focused so heavily on the Moto X for comparison, even though it is a logical decision, the Moto G stands on its own in my opinion. Besides I was expecting to share this video with friends who are not tech savvy at all and don't know anything about any smartphones and this makes this review a bit out of reach for people who haven't been following tech news this year.
    All in all it's still a good review and shows what's important: the Moto G is not the best smartphone out there but it's a steal for 169€.

It's still powering up and still running and still being used. Never a major issue with it. My only wish was for them to have given the expandable storage, but overall it's been a pretty damn good phone. zero complaints.
Enero no podrá llegar demasiado rápido. Será una excelente forma de iniciar el año..
    No hay duda que si vienes de un móvil inteligente inferior o buscas adquirir tu primero, el Moto G es la mejor compra que podrás hacer.

    Wow, I had no idea the Moto G was under $200! If I were to recommend a phone to my parents (or anyone who doesn't need a top-of-the-line device) this would be it.

      I'm recommending it to my mom for that reason. She has a phone released in late 2010, my old Evo 3D. The Moto G is better than every handset Virgin Mobile offers except maybe the S3 but that's unlikely to get future Android updates so that's not even a great option.

    I think the nexus 4 for 200 bucks is a better deal. I managed to snag it when it was that cheap 😀 it has more ram, better build quality, NFC, and a better camera. And its a nexus, so you get almost instant updates

    • @Spooky_Psyche
      @Spooky_Psyche Před 10 lety

      Yeah, but that's for the 8gb version. You can get a 16gb Moto G for $200, and it's a huge difference. And trying to find a 16gb Nexus 4 at a reasonable price right now is basically impossible.

      @CyberPoodle Před 10 lety

      bulldog521521 yes good point but many people will be just fine with 8 gigs. I am a pretty tech savvy person, and I flash roms frequently which take up quite a bit of space and I haven't really ever needed more space than 8 gigs

      Bariq h That was during the fire sale. Just like the one they had with the HP TouchPad, it was the only few people that were lucky enough to get one. And just like the HP TouchPad now, finding a used one will just all be prices as if the fire sale never happened.

The only thing that is average on the moto g is the camera and to be fair even that's more than good enough for most users. .Cheers dudes and keep up the chat coz we all luv it lmao

  • @WWoodyW
    @WWoodyW Před 10 lety +3

    It's hard to justify $600+ for flagship phones with something like this around. Having the best specs doesn't matter much for many consumers. It's about usability where it appears this phone sacrifices little. That half a second extra to load an app probably isn't noticeable when you don't have a more powerful phone in the other hand. I hope they sell a ton of these.

    I am looking for Moto G, But i read negative things of moto g those are: 1) There’s no USB cable and no headphones, so you’ll have to buy your own
    It’s quite disappointing that these two basic amenities aren’t packaged with the Moto G when devices at less than half its price ship with them. That’s going to be an added cost to you, so don’t forget to factor it in. For a basic cable and in-ear headphones, you’ll have to spend an extra Rs 550-and more if you want quality materials. By comparison, the Micromax Canvas 4 ships with flat tangle-free cables while several other manufacturers like Wickedleak and iBall throw in an additional battery to swap.
    2) The battery cannot be removed or swapped for a different one
    Speaking of swappable batteries, while the 2070mAh battery of the Moto G is going to be enough for most users, power users will want more. But if you absolutely must have a smartphone with a removable battery that you can swap out when the need arises, then the Moto G isn’t for you.
    Moto G Black Back
    3) There is no microSD card slot for additional memory
    The lack of a microSD memory card slot can be a major drawback and even a deal-breaker for many. If you like to store a lot of music and movies on your phone, the Moto G’s 8GB or 16GB of internal memory is going to be too little. Plus, just three HD games-FIFA 14, Asphalt 8 and Call of Duty: Strike Team-take up 5GB of space now, so what do you do?
    4) The camera is a major letdown
    The Moto G has a 5-megapixel snapper on the back which is only good for photographs to be taken in bright daylight. There are a number of issues which we touch upon in our quick-read review of the Moto G, but its shoddy low-light performance means that anyone who likes shooting photos indoors, at parties or at nights will not be happy with the results of this. You should not get rid of that point-and-shoot camera.

      Unless you've never had a phone before, it's more than likely you have some, maybe several, spare from previous handsets you've owned. These extras are very common these days.
      I would rather the cost be kept low than these extras shipped ... and think of the environment ;-)

    Great review, I just thought I would add my comments.
    I Bought the phone today, First of all I am a very heavy phone user, having had the samsung galaxy s3, iphone's etc I bought this phone with trepidation, The common belief that only higher priced smartphones are worth using, I could have gone and bought the nexus 5, or even another phone, but I thought I would give this a go.
    Screen is relatively good, 720p hd and uses gorilla glass for protection, compared to my s3 it seems to be dimmer, even on full brightness, haven't had any problems regarding performance, loads everything quick and easily, problem lies however with the memory, I bought the 8gb because i thought I'd have no problem given it comes with 50gb of online storage, however with all the software etc, you scrape a rather unimpressive 5gb give or take, the camera is not fantastic, in the right light it takes a good picture, but any other condition and it really under performs. Surprisingly however the front facing camera is not half bad, The phone does not feel cheap, it feels stronger and more premium than my s3 (not much of a challenge, I know) The phone is heavier than I expected, and is not overly comfortable in the hand, but minor - very minor aspects aside, it is a very good phone for the money.
