When glock launched the G17 they were also a new company with no aftermarket support, the market didn't ask for a plastic "tupperware gun", fast forward to 2024 everybody is trying to out-glock Glock.
New companies need support, maybe they will be the next big thing, maybe not, but better having more options than having only a handful.

    • @hardtarget2359

@@grtorrest I agree! But you know just as well as I do that there is no innovation in this gun, let alone it being the “next big thing”! This gun is nothing more than a single stack Glock. Especially for the inflated price. Rob made a niche gun that 90% of the market doesn’t want now. But 10 percent of the gun market is still decent margin for him to recoup his efforts.

Fingers crossed I have enough preparations to last my lifetime with new or reloaded ammunition. Plus I have found that with a little playing around the 30SC can become a really spicy little round with much the same performance as the upper-end 9mm's and still retain accuracy@@user-rn9sb8wu4h

Just remember, your choices of ammunition weights and types will be extremely limited, and cost 20 to 25 percent more than 9mm. Also, if finding a holster matters, that might be a problem, if you get anything except a Shield or Shield EZ in Super Carry. I personally think that Federal "screwed the pooch", at failing to properly market Super Carry. To be fair, it would have taken a pretty massive marketing effort to educate the most important demographics of seniors, women, and new shooters. Most people with any knowledge of guns whatsoever, are at least familiar with hearing about 9mm and 380. But this new caliber would have been an unknown quantity to them, unless they followed gun news.

As usual another great video! Curious to know your thoughts on how this compares to the SW EZ in 30 SC as you have a video out on that. I went with the EZ as it was the only single stack 30 SC option out there. True, no optic cut but I went with a CT pressure activated laser and it’s accurate as all get out. I know some get worked up over the grip safety but it’s been a non-issue for me. I have shot many rounds with a half-assed grip and it still fired every time. I like what I am seeing with the Avidity but wondering if is any better in your opinion. FYI, I like the 30SC so much that I also have the Shield Plus, also a great option. Good to see another maker adopt the 30 SC round.

Looks a lot like the Masada Slim to me. Still waiting on your review of that one. In that I get 13 + 1 of 9mm. And those are CZ 75 pattern mags giving even larger capacity if desired. The only thing missing on the Slim is the rail. That could be fixed if IWI or someone else released a new grip module to add one. Most of the rest of the features are pretty close. Still waiting to see what CZ has in the pipeline for concealed carry.

cz has the p-10 M, but it is single stack with only 7 rounds. I carry the P-10 C myself, and sometimes the S as well. If you're looking for small, but don't want to sacrifice capacity go with the P-10 S. I've owned the P-10 C for 4 years now and the only malfunction i've ever had was due to bad ammo (re-man)

As far as slingshot or slide release. I prefer the slingshot. I have found living in Northern MN that the slide release is not always reachable or quick to get to when using gloves or mittens. I find that my fingers can slip off the release because of the hand covering. I usually wear mittens that have a slot cut in the palm. The top, mitten part, folds back and my fingers are exposed but not my thumb. At least in the pair I use. I have seen some that the top of the thumb folds back as well, but I don't use those particular type. The flap allows me to use my fingers or just slide my index finger out to activate the trigger, on those really cold days.Rather then trying to get to the slide release, or doing both methods, I find it easier to just use the slingshot method all the time, because it always works, weather I'm wearing mittens or not.

Winter glove pistol shooting was a serious obstacle with my 19 at an evening low light class this month. I edc the 19 and wear gloves daily for my job and it presented a serious problem with shooting the gun that one night especially with one handed edc light manipulations and safely getting on the trigger and oddly getting out of the trigger my finger would get bound up and had me wondering what what other comparable pistols in your experience are better for winter gloves. I appreciate any guidance you have with all the platforms you have come across

I was very excited for this pistol to carry 8-10 years ago when it was first announced as being "right around the corner." Now I just don't see a market for it compared to at least 10 other/better options. They need to make a second version asap that has a staggered mag and at least 15 rounds on that length of a grip, or shorter grip and 10-12 rounds, with cost at or below $499 to make it worth it today.

I was wondering about 30 super carry. From your side of things how is it holding up. I a 380 1911 style gun and I love it. I shoot it well and it's easy to carry. However I'm not a big fan of 380 caliber. It shares the same problem as 45acp. It came out in a time where guns were being transitioned from black powder to smokeless powder and fmj or lead ball ammo was standard for the day. Also the automatic loader from revolvers were still pretty new. That being said 380 and 45 acp are hard to find and get good defense hollow point bullets that actually work. 9mm was designed for a little higher chamber pressures and more bullet speed so defense hollow point bullets are easy to find. I have high hopes for 30 super carry but I was worried that it would be a flash in the pan or short lived fad. My next defense hand gun will probably be 30 super carry. It has the ballistics I like, good overall performance. I really like the gun you featured today. If they get the 30 super carry magazine worked out and in production I would like to get one. I'm odd. I know most defense gunfights only use the capacity of the gun and rarely use reload or spare mags, but I'm a firm believer of being prepared and having 2 extra spare mags. That's the main reason I carry my 380 1911 over my 45acp or 9mm. I have 2 spare mags with one in the gun for it. My others I have 1 spare mag and one in the gun. It's not about capacity, it's about reliability and it's easier to grab a spare magazine when you have a couple in your pocket.

I would have to ask, how many rounds do you put through it to train every six months? Genuine curiosity. From the dealers that I know, the feedback from their customers is they hardly ever go shooting because of cost and availability. Which is a big big issue. The average 9mm ccw owner shoots a few hundred every six months at a min.

AA pistol slide serrations are "different" from any other pistol. Most pistols with slanted cocking serrations are angled to prevent your fingers from slipping up and off. This AA pistol is not just different, it is backwards from vertical serrations of the 1911, for example.
Plastic rear slide rails on the frame are not a selling point. If plastic is good for frame's slide rails, the the front rails should also be plastic. Plastic is asking for the rails to break; and to get chewed in dusty conditions. So, the rear frame slide rail should also be metal.
If dust does not wear the plastic rails, it will imbed in the plastic and wear the steel slide rails.
Do not fall into the "change" trap. Improvement has value. Change for the sake of being different is not an improvement.
