In this new series we meet up with Turks living abroad and ask them about their lives. We don't choose where we are born, but we are always exploring our dream place where we can live. I am an Indian who wants to retire in Turkey, i know turks who live in Canada and i know Canadians who want to return back to India. The best place is where you feel the best.
Absolutely 🤠
I'M TURKISH BORN BRIT & AUSTRALIAN. MY SOUL BELONGS TO AU, I'M ALREADY RETIRED & LIVING IN AU 🤣🤣
Everybody’s wish is different, I wish I was born&raised in UK.
I live in Turkey, but I want to go the USA or CANADA. Because Turkey's currency lately is going down and politics aren't right in the way of. Everything is so expensive in Turkey rn. Even car prices are over the 300.000 Turkish Lira. I mean these cars are minimum level like 1.0 TDI or TSI, and their's hp under 100. Let me give you an example, you pay for a basic Audi car in terms of $ it's approximately 20.000. But in Turkey, we have to pay for these kind of cars at least 600.000 or 700.000 its like a 50.000$. In Turkey minimum wage is 4250 TRY and most of the people are earning minimum wage in Turkey.
@@onur7192 WHAT ABOUT DEMOCRACY & HUNAN RIGHTS; ARE THEY OK. 🤣🤣🤣🌏🌏
Turkish people very serious, very respectfully and civilization people.
They're like live and they are very tolerant people. All respectfully for This people. This people have the art and love of live. Thank you again Turkish people.
Me and my wife holiday in Turkey and we love it there, I have never felt such wonderful hospitality from all the people in Turkey 🇹🇷 and I have travelled a fair bit around the world, our dream is to retire in southern Turkey, it has the sun beaches and beautiful food, 😍
As a Turkish, I am glad you liked my country sir.

I was in the UK and Germany but for me and in my eyes no place like Turkey no matter what . I am glad I returned to istanbul ❤🇹🇷
Hi Mick, i lived in London for over 10 years and overnight just made the decision to pack up and move to Germany. I just got so tired of the life in London. I moved to a really small town in Germany and was so contempt with life in Germany and thats where i met my wife who happens to be turkish and i now live in Turkey 😊. Its amazing, i love turkey and its people and i feel home in turkey. Great video.👍
What a wonderful journey! Where in Turkey do you live?
What about family
Did you have some in London
I have lived my whole life in germany, i am thinking about moving to turkey, I am also turkish. Memleket baskadir🇹🇷👍🏽

Would the Salisbury Hotel be a good place to stay? In Green lanes
@@mickandtrudie Yes Mick , it is a very good pub too , ive never stayed there personally , but bang in the heart of the Turkish restaurants , also they have built a brand new Travel Lodge in Manor House too which is 5 mins away too , Both good choices
@@mickandtrudie Not sure the Salisbury is a hotel anymore ? Cant find any info on the rooms there , but a great pub .
God loves you Mike amca. You have a great heart .

kesinlikle haklısın, kolay değil diyor da türkiyede yaşamak kolay mı? 1 litre benzin 20, 1 kilo kıyma 130 lira, avrupanın birçok ülkesinde insanlar 1 2 saatlik maaşıyla 1 kilo kıyma alırken bizim 1 günümüz -ki çalışma saati de fazla- anca yetiyor. Ben giden insanın sosyallik, kültür ve dil (gerçi birçok vize dilsiz alınmıyor) konusunda sıkıntı çekebileceğini, bunların dışında ekonomik durumun en son sırada geleceğini düşünüyorum.

Yes that’s the best way, we speak together in Turkish sometimes now 🤠
Mick Amca, may I ask where your half children live? I am guessing they are in TR. I have been living in USA for 29 years now and soon wish to retire in TR. Love all your videos about TR. Bizi bizden daha guzel anlatiyor ve tanitiyor videolariniz. Eksik olma!

Great video, I'll share this with my students (I'm an English teacher at Ege University) and I always share your videos with my students and recommend that they subscribe to your channel! I also agree with some of the other comments about you making future videos for ex-pats living in Turkey, please do. I too am an ex-pat (American) who has been living and working in Izmir for the past 10 years and my (Turkish) wife and I couldn't be happier (except for the current economic situation)! She lived with me in the states for about 8 years before moving here and there are lots of Turks living back home in Columbus, Ohio. We would love to meet with you guys one day and give you a tour of our new summer home in beautiful Mordoğan! You're welcome anytime! Cheers mate and keep up the good work!

I would love to watch Mick Amca at my lectures. I think your students are very lucky sir. Btw im studing at Ege University too. 😁 (electronics)
When we are young , we explore the world for better future for us & our families BUT getting older i appreciate simple things in life & look to retire in the old country, were things are simpler & things are slower.Food much better, plenty of sun etc

Another great video, so nice to see it from our side in the UK about Turkish people coming to set up a new life in the UK , Keep the videos coming u2, 👍
Yaşar has become a British person. His accent is like British 😄
Dear Mick amca, you two are so lovely 😊 I live in Giresun. I would be happy to see you here in this city as well. 🙂
Something your first guest said rung so true with me. I too feel like a complete stranger in my country of birth after a lifetime of living in my adopted country. A real case of nurture versus nature.
Great conversations, thanks for bringing it to us.
Uncle Mick is with us again with a wonderful video that will allow us to look at our life, which is only one, from different angles. Thank you very much sir for all your hard work.
Bizleri İngiltere ye de götürdün ve gezdirdin. Teşekkürler Mr. Mick.
I really enjoyed watching this video, it is very refreshing to see the other perspective, your experience with Turkey and theirs with UK. This is TV worthy, I loved it. Well done amca.
as a turkish who lives in turkey i wish i was born and lived in uk or any other europe countries
Haha istediğin kadar dua et knk burda doğdun ama umutsuzlanma şansın var sadece az

You're shooting fantastic videos to develop connection between Turkey and UK. Great pleasure to watch and follow them. Appreciated Mr. Mick and Mrs. Trudie.
respect to u sir and ur wife. im originally turkish but i was born and raised in london. i have great respect for the uk and i class uk as my own country, not turkey. reason being, uk made me who i am; which i am grateful for 🙏
Good content. Thanks.
A great and innovative content as always. Thanks..👍🏻👍🏻
A very interesting video on the reversal of the situation between England and Turkey.
60 years ago I migrated from Egypt to Australia. Apart from the beauty of Sydney I couldn’t believe how easy it was to get a job and with good money at the end of the week. Same as the Turkish gentleman said “You have to work hard” to make it ,and that is a fact. Whilst you still work and make a living, you haven’t even got time to think about going back to your country of origin, however, when retirement comes around and you’ve got plenty of time to think, that’s when relocation thoughts play on your mind for varied reasons. Not necessarily to your country of origin though. I enjoy the variety of subject matters in your videos!
I often thought about leaving Australia for Europe and Turkey when I was working in Sydney and Melbourne and I did soon after I got my Aussie passport. It never felt like home despite my decent living conditions.
Once again you bring a new slant to your videos, I love the north coast of Scotland but I have to say retiring to Turkey would be nice the people are so welcoming, great food and weather. Thanks again for a wonderful video.
So good video thanks man
Another great Video, Thanks Uncle Mick!
Mick you really have a natural talent for making these videos. Amazing. I love your videos.
güzel video olmuş keyifle izledim teşekkürler mick amca.👍
Great video as always, very interesting.
Lovely video again. Finally heading to Turkey in Feb and using your videos as a guide. 👍🏽💞
Uncle Mick its a great video, i love seeing different peoples point of view on things like life ,countries etc.. I have lived in UK for 15 years and returned to Turkey and living in Turkey for the last 3-4 years , i feel as i made the one of thes best decisions too . I do miss UK now and again and i do still visit couple of times a year ,but i think if you are economically stable Turkey is a better place to enjoy life. Also most of my family is here so that was another reason
Really loved it, conversations was pretty natural.
I so enjoy your videos~ please continue to make them. Thank you~ My husband is one of the men who feels like a tourist in his home country after living in the USA more than half his years. He says the way of speaking has changed since 1988!
This concept was really needed in your cannel to cover both the sides. I liked authentic answers of these expats who denied possibility of retiring full time in Turkey. I know it could be difficult for them to leave UK at this age. Good video Mick Amca. Can't wait for your next video. Say Hello to aunt Trudy.
Thanks for the video; it just put a smile on my face.
They are truly amazing people.
Of course as a middle eastern Turk i will say thank you Europe to accept us to work and live in Europe

Güzel bir vidéo daha, merci oncle Mick ♥️
thanks for this wonderful video.
Brilliant video, one of my favourites that you have done :-)
making this comment As a Turkish citizen who lived in abroad for 3 years and then came back to Turkey again, Once you feel your value as a human being in abroad and the high standard of life, It's very hard to come back Turkey, if it's not necessary.
I honestly don’t think you feel your value as a human being by paying taxes over almost everything or working your ass off until you reach the age of 70, none of this exists in Turkey, you Turks in Turkey really have a twisted view of Europe, I am not even mentioning the bigotry against Muslims.
@@bodoor8172 I totally agree with u. I’m living in London for nearly 5 years which I feel happy right now. However, I don’t want to leave here for long time for some personal reasons (stress level, work life balance, weather, etc.)
Things are not quite good as it is 10 years ago as economy wise in TR nowadays. Most of ppl think that everything is better off in Europe.
Life is short and you need to give something to gain another things.
You just need to be careful about it, you just need to know who really you are and what you want from life.
@@esemredemir yes but you should take Brexit into consideration, I was generally speaking about the EU. Turks in Turkey don’t seem to understand what the EU is.
@B O'door don't know where U live. However, We also have to work until the age of 70 due to loss of income when we are retired. When I mentioned ''value as a human being' I attributed it to the income of ordinary citizens, freedom of speech and thoughts, and respect towards all religions. We are good at the things at some level I mentioned earlier, but we still need time and open-mindedness to reach a high standard.
when I was abroad I was homesick most of the time. Once I returned, things have started to change again
so nice to watch thank you x
Loved the little video with Yasar. Used to work for him in the cafe for about 12 years....
Guys, very interesting information, thanks for sharing Mick and Trudie. It's great to digest open and honest views, openly presented - from Turkish people living in the UK - and again from you guys on the reverse when you share your experiences in Turkey (always well received). We have 8/9 Turkish related businesses that have developed in our small town over the past decade. However, I do prefer life and living in Turkey (over the UK) for many personal reasons, my impartial opinion. So glad to know that British and Turkish people have dual lives in both regions (including you uncle Mick) - 'live life well and prosper'! Best regards...
Thanks Dean comments like yours make it all worthwhile 🤠🙋♀️
Lovely Video Guys👌. Really interesting 👍. I made it to Istanbul. Lots of Snow these past few days. It's Truly Magical here. Heading to Bodrum in a few days. Feel So grateful to be able to travel.☘😍🙏.

Mick Amca..
Very sorry to hear your loss.
The Minute 19: 30 at street corner, the scene looks very good with lighting and angle, your hat as well.
Turkey offers a lot, especially for retirement.. sea, sand, sun.. wonderful weather.. rich cuisine, friendly people, tremendous history, archeology, flora, fauna, interesting geography, 8000 km of coast line, surrounded by 3 beautiful seas, suitable for all kinds of outdoor sports and activities. Plus good connection hub to fly anywhere.
The only simple secret is.. You have to be “ curious “ to explore and enjoy.. and you are a very good example of that. Thanks for the video.
Best wishes
