Fortunately, we live in the age when scientists have done so much research into this subject that they can give us relatively convincing answers long before a new life appears.
Here’s a rough guide which will help you find out whether your children are going to be blue-eyed, brown-haired, have a big nose or a small one, as well as plenty of other things. Literally, anyone can use this and make a good guess about the appearance of their future sons and daughters. Fascinating!

- Modern science can predict what physical characteristics your child will inherit from you. This information is encoded into your genes that can either be dominant or recessive.

For those who have neither traits of mum or dad, you need to look further down your family tree as you could have inherited the colour hair or eyes from grandparents. Neither my parents have red hair but my great grandfather did.

Im a southeast asian (specifically Indonesian) but my grandfather’s eye color are silver to light brown,and *some* of his family has also a colored eyes....which is *REALLY RARE* for asians to get that......but sadly he had passed away 😔

Its because black hair and brown hair is dominant. If neither partner has the blonde gene in them then there is a 0% chance.

The video showed less than 1% of brown, 75% Green and 24% Blue. They just rounded up. Since the brown isn't even 1% the other part of the 1% went to the 24% Blue which they rounded up to 25%. 0.xx% Brown was rounded to 1% and 24.xx% was rounded to 25%

These eye possibilities are not true. It depends on the other alleles of each parent, not just their eye color phenotype. If a parent has brown eyes with two brown alleles and the other has blue eyes, then every child will have brown eyes. However, the child could have a brown and a blue allele, meaning if they marry a blue-eyed person, their children would have 50% chance of having blue eyes and 50% chance of having brown eyes. Without specifying the alleles of each person, this is worthless.

Umm this is wrong! @ 2:00 for the parents who BOTH have Blue eyes, that one is wrong!! My grandma’s parents both have blue eyes but she was born with brown eyes!! So explain that. And no, she wasn’t adopted!! There’s always a chance because even if your parents don’t have that eye color, they still carry the alleles/genes from their ancestors and older generations. Which makes their child have a different eye color EVEN if they DON’T have it. There is NEVER a 0% chance. There is always a chance no matter what.

This video is completely inaccurate. It all depends on what alleles you inherit from your parents. The unseen allele is underlying and may still affect a child.

The unseen allele is the recessive allele, which would mean if you had one, you'd just be a carrier. It would only show up if you had a child with another carrier of that gene. So like, my dad has blue eyes, and my mom has brown eyes. I have brown eyes, but I am still a carrier of the blue eyed allele. If I had a child with someone else that was also a carrier of the blue allele, there would be a 25% or so of the child to have blue eyes. But, also, there are co-dominant factors within the allele which would also make green eyes a small possibility. This video isn't inaccurate, but it spaced over the topic of carrier alleles and never talked about green eyes being a co-dominate trait for blue eyes x blue eyes or brown eyes x brown eyes.

I have hazel eyes, my husband has rare type of case where person has different eye colors. He has one black (left) and one brown(right).And we have son. He has different eyes too one is green (right) and left one has 1/4 of the eye green and the rest of the eye is brown. Its so wierd and people always are amazed by it. When you are mix of dominant genes and recessive genes. I have brown hair which can change its color due to lighting. I once had blonde hair and once red-orange ombre. It’s also straight and thin (same as my body). My eyes are dark brown. I have no idea what happened to my skin, my face is pale, arms are somewhat yellow and my legs are nOrmalish and darker than my arms. I am basically a rainbow. I think the reason for blue plus blue is because blue is a VERY recessive eye color, brown isn’t recessive, so a very recessive eye color can cancel it out entirely, Green is definitely recessive, but not as recessive as Blue, the 1% could also be from a pigmentation error. I was probably guaranteed to have Blue eyes because my parents and my grand parents all have Blue eyes.

Does hazel count as brown or green? It's a result of brown + blue/green eyes so it's definitely not the same as just brown. I think you should've included hazel eyes in this.

My dad is italian, my mom is Irish. My brother has strawberry blonde hair, PALE A** skin, and brown eyes. Me and my other brother have brown eyes, olive skin, and very very dark dirty blonde hair. We all have freckles. My friend is pale with blonde hair, blue eyes, her mom is white and dad is black, and her brothers are dark. She's not adopted. My brother with blonde hair, my great great grandma had red hair and she was the only one.
