I’m just now realizing how many parallels actually went on. Kratos apologizing for not letting Freya choose to die just as Athena wouldn’t let him die, Freya getting what she wants and choosing to stop fighting rather than making Baldur’s mistake and continuing to kill everyone. It gets crazier each time I re watch all of this
The look on both yall faces when Atreus bumped into Kratos!!!! Ahahahahahaha Yall looked like YOU bumped into your dad after being out too late! 😆

You can see one of those weights lifted off of Kratos after shaking hands with Freya.. he truly cares deeply for her as a person
I love how the roles are reversed and as Freya was about to apologize, Kratos said the exact same thing, Freya said in the prequel, when he was about to apologize for being rude to her, after finding out that she was a God.
"No need to explain. Not to me. Not for that."
It's the beginning of their relationship starting over again🖤❤💒. This entire setup was amazing, Freya was conflicted but you could tell by conversing with the crew and then Kratos alone that she wanted to forgive deep down. Even after the Atreus bear moment because she had her epiphany. It added up with the last one in the ending about what Kratos was telling Atreus after Baulder death
This was was of the more devious pieces of chicanery from Odin; Nidhogg guards the roots of Yggdrasil, which reach into all the realms. All he had to do to protect the magic that kept Freya bound was to take a root from each realm and tie them around it- the moment any of the roots were compromised, Nidhogg would come a -runnin' (unfortunately for her). Brilliant storycraft on behalf of the writers of this game.
I didn’t notice the first time when I was playing through the game, but when Freya was about to apologize, Kratos returned the same words that she told him in GoW 2018: “No need to explain, not for that”
A very fulfilling full circle moment, if ever there was one 🤝🏾 great reaction as always!
It's crazy how Kratos went from this going on god killing sprees to only killing gods in self defense lol
Even the two later ones that really deserved it in this game can be argued to have been self defense. It's pretty wild lol

This was what I wanted you guys to see such a beautiful scenes with Freya learning to forgive and take away her burdens of her past
when it comes to Baldur and freya not seeing his madness you gotta understand that all that crazy shit he was doing to kratos and Atreus, freya did not witness any of it ,like him coming to the house, balder hunting them and fighting on the top of midgards mountain like she aint see none of that, the last time she saw her son was over 100 years ago when he wished to not see her again the next thing she know she finally found her son and now kratos and baldur are having a death match where for the first time since she cursed him as a young man he's vulnerable. Plus freya feels responsible for his pain and was willing to die to give her son peace but kratos was like nah that's not right that's not a good deal trading freya for balder soooooooo snap snap snappy I gave balder a choice
Not only did Kratos know that Freya allowing Baldur to kill her was a bad deal, he also knew that it wouldn't have given Baldur any peace. Even in Kratos' notes, he says that even if he let him kill Freya, he would've continued coming after them, and he would've been forced to kill him anyway.
@@tron9683that’s why Kratos quoted his father Zeus by saying “the cycle ends here.” To determine that no child will ever destroy their parent ever again. He knows that gods are suppose to be better than this.

There’s a dialogue they skipped where the other dwarf calls Kratos “a tall glass of milk” like she’s flirting. It’s pretty funny
There’s such a satisfaction in seeing how far Kratos has come and opening up himself to those close to him. The character development is so good.
Notice how Kratos was able to read the runes, unlike last game where he had Atreus read it.
Nidhogg comes from the world tree roots. Remember when Atreus asked rataroksr what those “baby dragons” were at the bottom. She trims the roots to stop overgrowth, while the squirrel works in the leaves. It’s a mother basically and it’s just doing it’s jobs protecting the roots because Odin set that trap purposely with world tree roots because he knew Nidhogg would protect them from being tampered with. So they killed an innocent dragon basically.
yeah, that was crazy but like, you guys don't seem to realize how old kratos is in this point in the game... he is 1050 years old... that man has lived more than a thousand years since the events in Greece!
You notice that when she was talking about not being able to change fate Kratos did not tell her he has already changed his fate during the Greek saga he did not want to hurt her any more.
He did kinda imply when he said fate can be overcome

Such a really good section in the game! And yeah the voice acting was on point in this one!😁I mean its always been on point but this is where you get to see Freya's actress shine the most up to this point. Can't wait for the next one!!
Yes, this section, plus the end of 2018, Freya really shines. Her monologues are always amazing and emotional.
So, now that you're far enough into the game to see Freya as a follower...most of the side missions have dialogue if you complete them with Atreus or Freya.
You end up bonding more with whichever character is with you during these events. (It doesn't actually change the events of the game, just builds more on each relationship since you see more interactions.)
For example, the comment about the Hafgufa's where Mimir says Kratos just wants to spend time with Atreus while he has the chance is changed.
The dialogue instead is focused on Freya and Kratos talking about how much Atreus would have loved to see it.
It cant be overstated just how good the actors are in this game. I feel like every notable character just knocked it out of the park
Kratos has so much half brothers like Hercules, Athena, Hephaestus, Perseus, Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite which Kratos clapped her cheeks(Alabama shit), and the list goes on but his fully brother is deimos
Almost half of those you speak about are female and therefore not half brothers.
Going through this journey with you guys is so gotdamn fun. I love it. I absolutely love it.

Plus with the whole thing of Atreus unknowingly going to Ironwood and trying to keep it a secret was already bad enough, but then getting to this part i literally had to pause the game when Freya fucking came out of nowhere to curb stomp Kratos, it's just been Jumpscare after jumpscare, plus freya kinda got annoying. Also at 31:49 when Kratos and Freya were talking about family it was wholesome especially when he talked about Calliopie at 33:00 i was like "I'm SORRY"

My headcanon keeps telling me that one of the reasons why Kratos was refusing, or atleast trying to avoid fighting Freya was to prevent having another "Athena ghost" type of thing that follows him wherever he goes to feed on his guilt and regret.

It's so unexpected for someone to come out of one of the waygates instead of the characters going in.
I just want to say that they are not voice-acting. This was shot in motion capture so this is a true testament to the entire cast's acting. All of their facial expressions were caught with technology. But I do understand what you were trying to see and to that sir, I agree.
The sad part is freyas actress was going through a divorce so she used those emotions for Freya

2:40 Kratos's theme starts with three deep bass musical notes, going up, and chanted. Here we hear Atreus's theme, and it starts with those same three notes, but reversed, and played on Violin.
Another way they show both the differences and the similarities between Kratos and Atreus.

It’s really neat even though I am not a fan of race swapping, the acting writing is so well done I can’t imagine anyone else playing AngrBoda and Kratos. ❤❤❤ they did an amazing job. No wonder they’re turning it into a Series. Mind you I hope they don’t politicize it.
I agree. Santa Monica did a phenomenal job at what most studios struggle with. Unfortunately, we all know that once franchises get popular bigger studios start to push agendas. We will see though.
Not sure if it’s been mentioned but Baulder was doing Odins bidding. He was looking Faye but she was dead and found Kratos. That’s why he said I thought you’d be bigger. He wasn’t out for Kratos. It was a misunderstanding that I believe Faye knew about as she already had been on that path before.

Wanna know the funniest part of the prophecy plot? Kratos dying already happened in the game. In the boss battle with thor had kratos die halfway. Just like in the shrine. However thor needed to be arrogant despite the fact that kratos killed magni, beat modi and killed baldur and thought: lets keep this guy alive because i want a real fight. Bro you wanted vengeance against the one killing your family and here you have it. Kratos can't be brought back to life and return to midgard as all the realms are locked up and kratos wouldn't be allowed in valhalla, the vanir paradise nor the light of alfheim. Helheim wouldn't be able to bring him back to life or send him back unless he was pardoned but would still be unable to return to midgard. Meaning that if thor left kratos to die... Everything would change entirely.

I believe deeply that Freya snapped because Atreus turned on her. She has largely ignored Atreus in most interactions up to this point. In the sled attack she hesitated when Atreus had an arrow drawn on her. I'm so glad that we get to hear Kratos express that he has friends for the first time in a long time.

Also he cut a lot of the new enemies you see in vanaheim, also he cut the Odin Captain fight, kinda annoying. Gamers Playground tends to cut a bit too much
I was just infuriated by the fact that in the video the moment when Freya attacked the beauty in the form of a Valkyrie was cut out, just disgrace for such a mood you gave, horror...

Did TNT fade into the Valkyrie boss fight with no context or was it just the video? I had my issues with the Greek compilations they watched, but the Norse ones had been much better about showing the story up to this point. How weird.
Yea, the greek videos were kind of wonky because of the editing but we've found a really good Norse compilation so we know the story behind the Valkyries and Freya.
