Just to clear it up (in case this wasnt put into account), the reason why he didnt say anything about Ironwood is because as stated by Angrboda earlier, the reason how Ironwood became a safe place is because everyone thought that it was a fantasy, not real
Atreus letting them know about Ironwood being actually a real place could risk its protection
Glad somebody commented on it, he couldn't say anything about where he was without raising any suspicion in the first place. This added to the prophecy about his dad makes him want to go to Asgard
Yeah and what madr the situation worse is how Atreus got so defensive and said "So what?"

An extreme attention to detail also said by creators is when Heimdall catches the arrow. Notice the entire fight Heimdall is in a playful mood not taking Atreus serious. This is due to his arrogance seen in effortlessly dodging all off Atreus attacks. But if you notice when he caught the arrow mud was flung unto his face and this upset him because he didnt anticipate this and prides himself on Atreus not being able to touch him. Thats why he changes mood and gets serious with Atreus but Thor steps in
I want to see how the fight finishes. It would be a true GoW moment if Atreus slaughtered him.
Trust and believe you will be amazed, emotional and satisfied with the rest of the events that take place within this story. Honestly I say the first and second are game of the year level, the first one actually is, just from story and scenery alone
@@TNTGamingonlineHeimdall in Gow is not just a normal enemy, he can foresee anything and can read anyone's mind also he is being untouched and no-one has landed a hit on him yet.
Just to give you an extra layer to that detail and a nice parallel that most people missed.
When Heimdall fights someone else later the thing that actually makes them snap is when Heimdall kicks dirt/mud in their face (trying not to spoil).
It's pretty much poetic justice.
That's actually the first time kratos said boy so far.
Your wife has officially entered her Disappointed Mother stage with Atreus lol.
Ironwood is a secret. He can't tell anyone. He's keeping a promise
Atreus doesn't tell Kratos about Iron wood because the giant girl said it had to be kept secret so Odin wouldn't start looking for it.
Notice Thor still had that axe wound in his stomach from his fight with Kratos. The reason for that is because in the prior game when the world serpent spit Kratos’ axe back to him an update to the weapon came on screen (I can’t remember exactly what it said serpents poison, serpents blessing or something of the sort had been added to the axe). It played no part that entire game. In the mythology, the serpent’s venom/saliva was deadly to Thor. That’s why the wound hadn’t healed. Correct me if some of my details are off. I do know that’s why he has that wound still
No you're right. The snake's Eitr poison is what led to Thor's death. The Axe has that Eitr poison which mind you, survived Fimbulwinter which drained the magic out of everyone and everything, even stone as Kratos says. Yet that venom, which is to be used at Ragnarok survived.
@@joshcooper467 details like this are a small example of why this series is so great. They don’t even explain it, but they put them in there anyway.
@@joshcooper467 I don't think it's exactly what led to his death in this game. He was still strong enough to smack Jormungandr back through time.
@@tron9683 The comment was about the scar that remained on Thor. I know he's strong and maybe, I should have specified, the Eitr venom killed Thor in myth, but GOW takes a different approach.
And now you've finally met my favourite character, Heimdall.
Every scene he's in is entertaining and he's so fkin smooth with foresight.
To be honest I think without certain abilities and weapons, he's the hardest boss to beat with just pure hands.
He’s really cool.
Too bad he's a tool, though. He got done dirty at the end.
@@velvetrosang4684 not really. Dying brutally at the hands of Kratos is well, a True Gods death.

With the introduction of Heimdall, we finally get a complete picture of what was, until the end of the last game, Odin's triumvirate of top underlings in the GOW lore: Baldur the scout, Thor the enforcer, and Heimdall the guard. As we just saw here, Heimdall and Thor don't exactly get along; it's fair to speculate that each of those two also had friction with Baldur, who had lost his sanity due to Freya's enchantment robbing him of all sensation. It all makes for an interesting dynamic where they are, all three of them, at each other's throats. But with Thor too strong to overpower, Heimdall too prescient to be touched, and Baldur's too immortal to be hurt or killed, they're all forced into a three-way stalemate, and therein lies their stability as Odin's muscle.
All I know about Skjöldr is that he is a supposed son of Odin and also the first king of Denmark
Mimir later notes that he could be a good king someday. Basically foreshadowing or nodding to that
One thing that I always enjoyed about this Asgard sequence is that, while it established Heimdall as a powerful yet annoying enemy, the game quickly reminds us who the real top-dog is when Thor comes in. Players might think, "could this untouchable dude actually beat Thor?" But then Thor uses his own foresight power to threaten him, making Heimdall see exactly what would happen if he didn't behave himself, and that scared him enough to back down. There's a reason Thor is Odin's greatest enforcer, after all.
Surprised y’all didn’t mention anything about Kratos calling him Boy when he ran off to the portal, this is the only time in the game he calls him that whereas in the 2018 game it’s all he called Atreus
i think this is the only time Kratos called Atreus BOY in this game.
it shows how much their bond has grown
8:01 Well he couldn't actually tell them about Ironwood. Angrboda told him to keep it secret for fear of Odin finding out. I do think he kinda incriminated himself though by admitting that he wants to go to Asgard. They already suspect you of doing it, and although it wasn't true, making the "so what if I decided to go to Asgard, its my life" argument in that moment only makes you look more guilty of doing it. Especially when he didn't even need to bring that up. All he had to say was that he didn't go see Odin, and he can't tell them where he was really at. But I think what you were saying is correct though. Atreus does want to go to Asgard. He's already going through the stages of a teenage kid who wants to branch out into the world and do his own thing. He's also obsessed with the Giants and prophecy. So seeing himself in prophecy working with/for Odin was bound to come true one way or another because he thinks thats supposed to happen whether he likes it to or not.
Anyways, another great part! I wish these were longer, or we got these more frequently.😅I remember my first time seeing this section of the game. I thought it was crazy!😁But I guess it had to happen somehow considering in the mythology, and even in Marvel, Loki has been to Asgard. Can't wait for you guys to see how the story progresses next!
Heimdall had such a good voice actor. I hated him the moment he said “are you finished?”
Huginn and munnin were known by just about every person in Midgard. The aesir were the gods of the old Scandinavians, and the humans definitely would have known the names of odins ravens
33:28 if you look at Thor’s stomach it still has a cut from when he fought Kratos, and you notice that it’s not healing
I noticed that too
@@TNTGamingonline if you go back and watch God of War (2018), you’ll remember that when Kratos got his axe back from the World serpent it was embedded with ‘Eitr’ preventing Thor from healing. Also, a little bit of Norse mythology, when Ragnorok happens Thor and the world serpent fight, and it said that they both end up dying, Thor killing the World Serpent but he ends up dying from the serpent’s poison he walks about nines pace before falling down dead.
You guys have to remember that he made a promise to angraboda that he wouldn’t tell anyone about ironwood hence why he didn’t tell his father
Atreus made a promise to Angrboda that he wouldn't tell anyone about Ironwood. That's why he didn't tell Kratos where he was
The way Thor looks at the arrow then Heimdall suggests that arrow was going to the pits of tartarass
19:44 It's probably because Huggin and Munnin aren't regular ravens. In the lore, they were physical manifestations of Odin's thoughts, desires & memories that he sent into the world to see what was going on.
“BOIIIII” ahh so good, gives chills how well he executed that!
My favorite quote from Odin being honest was when he said to atreas something like was your first thing to do here to kill me like aside from what hes heard from Mimir Atreas has no clue about any weaknesses or what other powers Odin has so trying to kill odin first thing wouldnt be a thought
Angrboda did say he can’t and shouldn’t speak of ironwood to anyone if your friend tells you a secret do you tell your parents even if they ask
Fun fact, Skjöldr (that guy Atreus spoke at the base of the wall) is the first King of the Danes
This instantly became my favorite game because of both game play and dialogue!! You won't be disappointed with the outcome. I really enjoy your content. Keep up the good work!!!
8:04 he also didn’t want to disclose the existence of ironwood at all to protect Angrboda!
8:22 he promised Angrboda that he wouldn't tell anybody including Kratos about Iron wood
Tasha makes a good ass point about the ravens I didnt even think about ever
As an outside observer, it is a good question.
But you gotta remember that gods have stories and they are famous. Regular humans know about them.
Kratos needs to whip out the Belt of Chaos on lil bro
Hiemdall has a personality like Hermes
YES!!!! I was thinking the same thing!
I honestly enjoy how even though the asgardians are excessively arrogant, they're not really exclusively complacent or believe themselves entirely invincible. vigilant and wary enough to comprehend that Atreus/Loki would not just immediately trust Odin, revealing they know he intends to turn on Odin and thus forcing Atreus into a corner.
This game had some of the best if not the best writing and acting
Being Odin's Top bird is Nasty Work LMFAO! 19:33

The only time Atreus is called BOI in the entire game.
Could you imagine Kratos bending Atreus over his knee and beating that ass? lol
That BOI definitely sounds like he was ready to beat some ass, lol. I would've pissed myself if I were Atreus.
I see yall having a hard time T & T. In this duology, unlike the first trilogy, you and Kratos alike have got to learn to trust people lol 😭😭 this series actually has genuine friends of Kratos & Atreus
Bruh, the PTSD is real. It's incredibly hard for me to trust people in this series.

Lol, she's such a girl!!!!
Man, y’all made me want to play the game so much I just got to exactly where y’all are at in the story
Real goosebumps when kratos called him boy for the first time this game
Not gonna lie but when Kratos roared "BOY" like that I had flashbacks to when I was a kid my dad would yell "SON" whenever I acted out that was his way of saying "one more strike and imma break my foot off in your ass"
*This is a fairly long rant and my opinion on this part of the game, didn’t mean for it to be so long so my bad :)*
I understand that he made a promise to angrboda on not telling anyone in fear of Odin, but he still could of at least explained it to his dad in private. Easily just had the two of them go through a portal doorway, explain to kratos on how he got there and who he met. He could have easily left out the whole prophecy about him and how kratos is going to die, that would have been more than enough to kratos.
He probably would have been more than willing to help keep the ironwoods a secret, as well as keep angrboda herself a secret as well. People are trying to say that Kratos just needs to blindly trust Atreus because he made a promise with someone that Kratos doesn’t even know. I’m of the opinion that Atreus got far to arrogant an believe that at that moment only he new better than anyone else so didn’t even try to reach a compromise with Kratos.
It just frustrates me how people are making excuses for Atreus like he didn’t do anything wrong and Kratos is the one in the wrong. Atreus is just being an annoying know it all at this part that believes only he can save everyone because he’s following a prophecy that he’s trying to fulfill at some parts and doesn’t want some parts of it to happen, honestly seems like Loki stile of thinking to me. I get he has the right reasons but he went about everything just so selfishly and poorly. An again this is just what I think, just had to get it off my chest.
I agree with you
Well, he's a teenager, of course he "knew better". We've all been there.
Sometimes simply knowing something they shouldn't can change fate more than what can be anticipated. Kratos could later reveal the secret or mimir would. And if a specific person living there heard it: Ironwood would be breached.
Love watching this with you guys
In the game the ravens have blue eyes/shiny eyes, so is simple to notice, i believe in lore if you'd see 2 ravens in places there usually have no birds or at least not a common place for ravens, people would believe it to be Odin's Ravens
I really hope you two have watched Sons of Anarchy. The actor who plays Thor (Ryan Hurst) plays Opie on the show and is one of the most beloved characters ever.
He was also in Remember the Titans among other films.
Ryan Hust. Sons of Anarchy, Outsiders, Remember the Titans and Walking Dead. Son of Cooter.
Huginn the first bird we see is the mean one, and i guess the other one is probably nicer. Huginn probably didn't say his name because he doesn't respect or care for Atreus.
Also just my personal theory's that the birds are so connected to Odin that it could also represents his thoughts (Huginn) and mind (Muninn), meaning his true thoughts are more shifty or cruel, in in his minds eye he thinks he's nice and caring (the persona we see). Also you can google "Atreus's depiction of Huginn and Muninn", and learn the story of how Odin made them his "pets".
Oooor i might be crazy who knows
that little turn around where odin turned and heimdall moved out of his vision and he just stopped then resumed his statement was peak comedy. its easy to miss.
Man cant wait for the next one
Heimdall was the guardian of the bridge that connected Asgard to Valhalla and the Great Lodge; the bridge itself was called Bifrost (and is usually depicted as a rainbow).
You guys makes me happy. I love the god of war keep doing it.
It's gets far crazier
Great reaction you guys!!!! Keep it up!!!
Ayyeee that intro was 🔥 😂👍💯
26:02 wow didn't notice this detail until now 😂
To me, the best part of the game starts from here. Y'all almost there to the finish 🎉
The bird can’t tell Atreaus his name because Odin corrupted it’s soul basically that’s why you have to kill the ravens so you can free their souls it’s a whole side quest about it
His name is huggin. He survived ragnarok and is in the shelter after the fight ended.
8:00 no he couldn't have said Ironwood remember the Girl told him he can't say anything not to anyone, not even his Father which is Kratos so he just lied and said he went to visit the grave
Heimdall has arrived 🐐
That “BOY” came from the depths 😤 don’t play with Kratos boy 😂
Thor is Ryan Hurst (Opie in Sons of Anarchy/Gerry Bertier in Remember the Titans)
The reason why odins raven huggin didnt tske him right where odin was so loki would see all the troubles from heimdall and thor before odin started talking to him so that way he looks like the lesser evil that actually could be trusted. To keep quiet and weave webs in all directions until he can strike in silence.
I was supposed to every last of God of war on this channel. I love it very much.
Kratos and Mimir, the new parents of Atreus dealing with his teenage angst....😂🤣🤣🤣
Its a shame that the person you're watching skipped over the dialogue between Freya and Tyr. Good reaction you guys and keep it up. :3

Lol, damn!
I'm surprised how many people miss how odin disrespects and manipulates all three of them
When Atreus arrived in Midgard I let the Helwalkers whip my ass like 3 times

2 Vids in the middle of the night nice 😁
Is there an ep 13 yet or is 12 the latest?
You may or may not recognize Thor's voice actor? Ryan Hurst is the actor and you might know him from Sons of Anarchy as Opie Winston, or from Remember the Titans as Gary Bertier.
My disappointment in everyone was unbelievable when Atreus decided to run away because they ARE NOT LISTENING, Atreus, right now in this moment is under a lot of pressure he has to keep the fact that he's been to ironwood under wraps, the future of Kratos dying at the hands of Thor, and now the future of atreus going to Odin is coming true they did not listen to what he had to say. This is Kratos should talk, not be all demanding like that. Also 7:54 Angroboda told him not to tell anyone not even Kratos that he's been to ironwood, that's why Kratos assumed Atreus been to Asgard.
Also meeting Heimdall was so FUCKING annoying, just because you can read minds does that mean you can be pompous ass to everybody you talk to.
Also interesting info when Thor came in helped Atreus out with Heimdall at 33:26 you see the his scar that Kratos gave him hasn't disappeared yet cause when Kratos and Atreus heal themselves any scars would disappear but his didn't and this actually comes from when you first wake up Jörmungandr cause when he spat the axe back there was something embued in the axe and it was Ether and apparently it was Jörmungandr's venom.
I honestly hate most gamers’ reactions to Atreus leaving Kratos. They always complain about Atreus not telling the truth when Angrboda specifically tells him to keep Ironwood a secret.
Well, you gotta look at it like this yeah, he should’ve said something but again at the same time he’s Loki and a giant and Deceiver of Gods so the reason why he put his plan into Motion yeah giants Ido have their own privacy, but I said this along time ago because yeah it was annoyingly as what he did and you got a look at everybody who reacted to this standpoint is the simple fact that like You should let everybody’s intentions on what you’re trying to do at the same time. trust is a two-way street and because of what he was doing, he was given Kratos a reason to not want to trust him let alone everybody else which he should but again trust is the two-way street and yeah, he has the right to keep Ironwood a secret but again at the same time he should’ve said it would’ve been more of an approach that comes along with planning just like how they let him go back to Asgard
@@lloydswaggedoutThe way I see it: Atreus was always going to end up on this path and it is mainly because people are showing that they don't trust him to make the right decision. Also: think about how Angrboda, her grandmother and Atreus are the only ones to know about Ironwood. A place that's only safe because Odin thinks it isn't real. As the last of your kind: you're going to take that secret to the grave. For once: this isn't on Atreus. Sounded to me like he had the basis for a plan and had they not been so stuck on trying to be right: they could've helped Atreus tweak that plan to perfection but instead they all jumped down his neck so to speak.
@@avarycepierce6296 In shorter terms: it wasn't Atreus' secret to tell. He made a promise, as he tells Kratos later on, and has been trusted to stick to his word.
The test Odin gave Atreus is Heimdall. Heimdalls eyes give him the ability to see people's intentions and true thoughts. If Atreus was there with false motives Heimdall would see it.
It was also to get atreus to see that odin is the Saint in comparison to what people say about odin.
I swear no one sticks around to see freya meeting Týr, the interaction shouldn't have been optional to watch

@@sphinx3749 sometimes you have to throw it out there and hope, I mean as a fan of this franchise since the first release it's fun seeing there reactions but I understand they do a lot so it's fine
I think one point yall made that i have to disagree on, i'd even go as far as to say it never happens in the game, i don't think Atreus ever feels like he knows better than his dad, this doesn't really have anything to do with who knows more of the world, its moreso a balancing act between the two of them that keeps falling out of alignment
Kratos is too distrustful and close minded to change, and he needs to change if things are going to go differently than they did in the past, Atreus needs to grow on his own but needs to reign his impulses in before he makes irreparable mistakes. Going to Asgard wasn't a bad move, but the way he left was. There were ways to explain the situation while keeping details about Ironwood secret, and for VERY good reason which you'll see later, but unfortunately neither Kratos nor Atreus were in the right state of mind to have that conversation
Hugin and Munin were Odin's ravens, responsible for reporting back to Odin what was going on in the Nine Realms.
They weren't spies . . . necessarily.
He cant tell anyone about Ironwood.
