I've watched every video so far, and this is the first time the organist has invited people to come try out the instrument. A class act!

indeed, although I'm sure most of the organists in Brents videos would be willing to let others come visit. I've been to the cathedral in Springfield where Mark Gifford is organist, twice, and consider him a good friend now. Also if Covid never happened, I would have been to First Christian Church in St Louis to that Austin with Dr Sarah Bereeza back in May.

@@kennypierson9760 I would also like to try out that Austin. And for what it's worth, if you ever find yourself in central Texas you are welcome to try out the organ that I play on Sundays. It's a hybrid, but it has some nice sounds and the acoustic is excellent.

@@thebog11 you've gotten me curious now. Where do you play? Would love to look up the instrument!

I love that 8’ plus 1-3/5’ registration - I guess you could achieve a sort of Tierce en Taille effect by putting it down in the tenor.

What a nice organ. And thank you for posting. Indeed the Prestant 8' sounds wonderful also the facace. The Flavial is a rather "strange" stop. I prefer a normal stop on such a "small' organ. The reeds are also wonderful.

A delightful instrument. So good to hear a well-balanced tremulant (Bach would have liked it). A "prinicipal celeste"-who would have guessed? Above all, the smooth, slightly stringy principal with mutations & mixtures perfectly regulated-some early baroque revival organs were real screamers, but this instrument sounds perfect for its hall.

The principal céleste is one of my favourite sounds - it comes from old Italian organs, where it was called the Voce Umana.

    Great video!
If you’re still in Dallas, check out the [fairly] new Ross King organ at Holy Trinity Seminary!

Brent, you should some day get to Omaha Nebraska to St Cecilia's cathedral. They have the 65 rank Pasi Dual temperament organ, all mechanical, as well as 2 Bedient pipe organs within the cathedral, and also multiple smaller pipe organs in the music school just behind as part of their music program.
Definitely world class instruments worth showing off.

It’s refreshing to see an instrument that isn’t trying to be everything to everyone. That philosophy so often results in mediocrity. This organ is unapologetically what it is, true to its mission, and that alone makes it pretty special.
