    Good video , the only thing I would of done different would of been to use a lighter coloured bucket at the end , that way you would of seen the real colour of the dirty water , apart from that a very good video

  • @thegreatestfartofalltime6448

    I see a lot of people on youtube just go straight at it with the heat cleaner. I think it's nice to see the whole process. The carpet looks much better and it's good to know that it has been treated properly.

    That was an interesting video. It was good to see the entire process. A couple of suggestions, if I may. When I had my business many years ago, I made sure that I worked the carpet in one pattern. This helped to make sure the pile was lifted in all the same direction for maximum finishing. Also, I always had a small clear plastic bottle about 400 ml, which I filled with the dirtiest water from my machine to give to the owner to show what was cleaned from their carpet. Otherwise I made sure I emptied into either the white bath or toilet for maximum effect of how dirty the extracted water is. That usually always shocked the owners and made them appreciate my effort. Cheers.

      Hey, thank you for the constructive comment. You are right, when I work a woolen carpet, or 60/40, woven or similar, I do work the carpet in one pattern (wherever possible), keeping true and consistent at all times. Right after the extraction I use a grooming brush to make the pile nice and uniform (firmer on man-made fabrics and really soft and gentle on wool or naturals).
      However, this one in particular was such a "tough cookie" hardy, stubborn and resilient PPE, that no matter how "nuclear" I went at it would have made any difference to the pile. What you are looking at was a carpet that got damaged by fire, specifically by layers of soot. The owners wanted to get rid of it completely so they didn't really care about the traffic, which was heavy, working the soot right into the pile over the period of weeks. I had to mix a strong concoction of solutions (PH 13) with addition of an oxygen booster in order to extract everything in one go thus saving time - I have to say here though, not that I care all that much how long will it take for as long I am happy with the results...in any event, I didn't want to spend my childhood there :)
      With regards to the bottles, that is an excellent idea. On the other hand, customers (especially female ones) know exactly what state their carpets are in so the smile and the spark in their eyes when they see the final result is all I could ever wish for ;)
      Carpet cleaning is a relaxing and healthy exercise (to me anyways), what made you to stop?

    Very impressive demonstration. I have a small carpet cleaning business where I specialise mostly in Persian/ Chinese antique rugs etc. I use machines that are not that powerful because I'm frightened of causing damage. I do often take jobs for actual home carpets, but it takes me forever with my machines and I'm not always happy with the results. I'd like to ask you guys a question however. Would you use that treatment and such powerful machines on an expensive, quality, antique carpet? I would be afraid to damage it with such power. The carpet in your video looks synthetic and so can withstand such treatment, but you did a great job of it. Thanks.

Related this process three times. and again vacuumed. Then sprinkled cleaning venigar again streaming done followed by vacuuming, within 4 days my bedroom was cleaned like anything. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Little hard work and paid off.

    Heat treatment to prevent damage turns out to be melting ravelings to prevent the carpet from fraying. Catch a raveling in the brush on a vacuum and end up with half the carpet in the vacuum. Carpet must be a synthetic natural fibers don't melt.

    good clean there well done , but have to say as its soot its always going to make the carpet look great especially when extracting , i am a carpet/upholstery cleaner myself thats trade register with the ncca , {national carpet cleaners association},i have the victor sprite water feed scrubbing machine as its water fed i don't need to pre spray just put the solution in the sprite water tank saves me loads of time especially on the big commercial cleans , i would rather have the machine do all the main work lol, its god to see someone following the process associated with carpet cleaning as many seem to think you turn up with a machine turn it on and thats it , the constructive comment on your hoovering may of been the correct way to do it back in the day but now a days you have to hoover north, east, south, west like you did to fully get all that dirt out before pre spray and agitation process

      H Faci You are very welcome. Good quality machine is important. Truckmounts are powerful but good portables are equally as good. You can get a second hand top notch portable with equipment for as low as £2k.
      Any troubles or questions, let me know and I'll try to help although I am not that good giving relationship advice :) I am actually pretty awful at it hahaha

      @@hfaci8977 like mountain mongrel said you need to have a decent machine and proper training and get yourself ncca trade registered you sit a final exam after training which is optional but for an extra £40 well worth it, there is of course a yearly subscription of £250 and you have to do an advanced spot and stain course within the 1st year, I did my course also at clean smart very good and got lots of great advice, machine wise there pretty simple to use, the machine I have and in my opinion the best on the market is the jaguar 8.4 brilliant machine that can be used for hard floor cleaning, stripping and waxing with a 1200 psi I used 600psi on a department store and the vacuums are that powerful on the jag there was little water being left on the floor when cleaning at 600 psi 😁, if you take your time and build your company right you will have no problems within 6 months my initial layout of machinery and van was all paid 😁, also there is many solutions out there to use you only need a basic 4-5, obviously not including spot and stain treatments, I get all my solutions from world of clean in Devon fantastic company, hope this helps you a bit 😁

      Hi! try ncca.co.uk they do standardized training courses for carpet cleaners and after a year you will be recognized as a full member. That is the professional carpet cleaning body. Not sure about south-east as I believe they only have one training venue in Leicester.
      For the machines and how they operate: I took a several day carpet cleaning course from my supplier www.clean-smart.co.uk/store/carpet-cleaning-training-course/
      Their training course is also NCCA recognized. Thank you for the comment and good luck!
      P.S. If you take the clean-smart course it is much cheaper than the NCCA course and the guy who does these courses, Derek Bolton was the trainer for NCCA for number of years. Derek is a great bloke and helped me out with my business on many occasions.

    I have a 100% polypropylene texture rug that supposed to be like a medium pile carpet and in some spots it's flattened out and very rough. I've gone over it with a Kirby Shampooer kit and a Bissell Proheat 2x and the same area are unaffected.
    Will a steam treatment restore them?

    • @carpetcleaningplus8090
      @carpetcleaningplus8090  Před 3 lety

      Hi, yes, high pressure steam cleaning with a powerful carpet cleaning machine might restore the pile unless it has been in the high traffic area for years.
      In which case there is a slim chance the pile will be restored back to its original condition.

    Not quite sure how long that one room took you to clean since you sped up the video. I hope you made a lot of money per square foot with all those steps. I know Portables are more prominent in the UK but the high temperature from a truck mount good pressure and a rotary extractor would have made that a one step job in and out in 20 minutes

    Would it damage the carpet if you do that whole process more than once consecutively?

    • @carpetcleaningplus8090
      @carpetcleaningplus8090  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi, no, not this a heavy duty synthetic carpet. Sometimes I do 4 or 5 overpasses to fully clean it so I am confident to say doing the whole process over and over again will not damage this particular carpet.
      On the other hand however, if the carpet was woolen or from any other natural fibers or material, damage could occur. In that case I would spend more time on pre-spotting, using special solutions for that particular material, use less heat or less pump pressure. It all depends on the quality and material of the carpet as shrinkage, discoloration, over-wetting etc. could occur.
      Hope this helps ;)

    • @carpetcleaningplus8090
      @carpetcleaningplus8090  Před 3 lety

      That is a very interesting question indeed. The bucket itself is made from a non-recyclable plastic so once used and broken (although it is made from very durable plastic so it will last) will be disposed at my council's regulated landfill. Hope this helps and have a nice evening.
