Vintage Ringing Hammer

The reason that some hammers ring is that the geometry of the claws of some hammers more accurately mimic the geometry of a tuning fork - whose dimensions yield a vibration that is in the audible range of the human ear.

I've heard hammers like that before. Never thought anything about them, but I guess your right, they do mimic a tuning fork !
