I enjoy my Trangia 27 cook set with an additional billy for stews and small stainless steel Snow Peak kettle to pour out my water for tea and hot chocolate. You have much more patience than me cooking on the ground. I set up my cook set on a picnic table and try and keep everything clean on a steel tray. Looking forward to your next trip with the lovely wife. Thanks so much for your honest review.
The Trangia 27 is the best bit of kit i bought for camping 2 up on the motorbike, we was out the other week in Derbyshire lovely little camp, and we did rib eye steak with garlic potatoes,, Try Diall bio ethenol from B and Q only £6 per ltre, less cokey than meths , or stick a drizzle of water in with the fuel to stop it carboning up ,or just get the gas conversion, loads of tips out there regarding the Trangia, wait till summer ,, you'll love it,, Have fun.
good tips regarding the Diall Bio fuel! Also Garlic Spuds, get in that sounds lush!
That is a nice little set up. Just a heads up.... beware of the "Don't cook food in a bag" trolls. Those are the one that say the plastic chemicals will leach into the food when the bag is heated. That how we cooked in Scouts and as far as I know, no one in my troop has died off in the last 35+ years.
Haha, thanks for the heads up. Yeah I don't worry about things like that either. 😀
Good video. The splayed plastic server that comes with a rice cooker makes a great spatula for a Trangia.
Good tip!
Nice cook up Neil, they're a great stove, cooked some nice hearty meals on mine. The Go systems gas burner worth getting, works a treat with it 👍
We used to use them in scouts and I HATED them. However I may need to revisit them.... loving the omelette idea tho.... and a big thanks for the shout out on the knife! Cheers Tim
No problem Tim.
You got Trangias in scouts? All we got in our scouts was nits. 🤣🤣
UK Yanky hahahahaha! We was posh in Essex! 😂😂😂
I always find it a bit awkward when I am cooking with a new system or a new set of pots. If the food was tasty, then you did great- a little dirt won’t hurt you.
Been using this set for a quite some time now and it can be a bit fiddly but I hope the vid shows you can control the heat effectively with a bit of practice. This is a superb cook kit for those going down this route.
Hiya Neil! Great video. The bird you could hear was a pheasant. Love the cook kit very compact with loads of gear tucked away in it.
Thanks mate. How ya been? Hope you and your good lady are well.
@@UKYanky we're good buddy! Itching to get out but busy month December. Fingers crossed for twixmas. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Nice kit set up mate, i too have a fetish for the Russian doll thing where it all fits inside each-other.. I have always been meaning to do am omelet when out .. Hope you and your good lady are fine and dandy !

Hi buddy, love the omelette idea, I’m defo giving that a go. Are you going to the bushcraft show this year? Would be great to catch up again.
Thinking about it mate. Was also considering the Edale meet which is the same weekend sadly. Are you going again this year?
was tempted to take my nephews if I can drag them away from Fortnite
UK Yanky yes, we’ve already got our tickets.
I used to have a 'Frankensteined' model 27, ie basic alloy model with non stick replacements with a gas adapter that combo is the dogs for cooking cooking especially doing bacon and egg rolls then some shithead stole it 😡
Sorry to read that Bill. I think the gas is a game changer for this stove as the simmer ring is a pain to get right.
