In this video I show my first use of a "tool" designed to allow one person to reinstall a thrown skid steer track in a short amount of time. It worked great!

An excellent tutorial. Just purchased a 325G and expect to have to do this myself at some point. I’m going to order this set of tools to have on standby. There is a learning curve, no matter what you do in life, and this helped flatten it a bit for me. If you need ideas for future videos, one on servicing - and maybe some on operation of the various attachments you have - would be nice. Thank you for your time in putting this video together.

Take that “nut” ,which is actually a fitting, all the way out. Stand on track and force grease out. Once the front idler is all the way back, take your Texas tooth pick thing and slide the track back into place. See if you can send those pieces of 600$ rod stock back.

I love what I am learning from people who actually know what they are doing. The track hasn't come off since (knock on wood), but I have a list of things to do differently the next time. This includes, now, taking the fitting/nut all the way out. I'll hang onto the track tool things just in case.

Works a whole lot better if you put those bars on the top front and use them to push on the front roller instead of the back.

Thanks for the tip. Another tip to add to the great suggestions I have received through the comments. It is a benefit I didn't expect, but is working great to get some great info from people who know what they're doing.

Great to see you supported a individual ideas, watching maybe some marketing chalk you could mark the track the amount it needs to move so you could view it from inside the cab when the mark is at a visual point ?

That is why I use wheeled machines in woods track machines are great but over wheel tracks will do just fine in bad conditions

I do quite a bit of soft terrain work, which doesn't seem like it would work well with wheeled skid steers? But, then again, as I noted this is my only experience with any skid steer. If I get the opportunity, wheeled does seem like it would be less maintenance if I could get it to work.

Lots of good information and practical tips put in there. It is appreciated. I prefer to have the whole process (good and bad) left in videos as well.

Thanks for the reply. I make these videos to help me remember what I did when I inevitably have to do it again so, yes, the goofs are also helpful to remember so I don't repeat them.

I find they a much easier to put on if you have 6 people, an excavator, 2 winches, 3 hunting dogs, and a case of beer.

Save yourself a lot of money. Get 3 pieces of solid to bar out an inch in a quarter in diameter and use. That does the same thing but a heck of a lot cheaper

@@dalewcox i used some 1.25” fence material the other day to switch tracks. What a time saver! I will definitely be buying some stock an creating something like this.
