I am watching this video in 2021, during lockdown. I recently discovered that there was an Italian inspired dish called Arancini that was famous in my hometown Tripoli Libya but it no longer exist. So here I am learning how it's done the proper way! Much love Laura!
You have quickly become my favorite chef, Laura : ) You're very talented and make every recipe super easy. You deserve a TV show!
Thanks Laura. I'm making these today, (rice and filling are chilling)... and I'm sure they're going to be great. Whenever I'd seen these, which wasn't often, I was always like 'oh, I have to have one'. So now I can make them. You are the best.
Literally cannot stop watching your videos! All recipes look so good I can't wait to try them out!
I just went to an Italian restaurant not too long ago and had some of these as an appetizer. So delicious!! So glad I found your video, because I'll definitely be making these!
Laura, these look amazing! I'm picturing a broccoli and cheese rice ball...I think that would be an interesting combo. Thank you for all the amazing recipes!
Thank you sooooooo much for sharing all of these amazing recipes! Always a treat to watch and learn.
cooking is so labor intensive, but laura makes it look so easy. a true master of her craft.
ugh, i'm so hungry right now. that looks so freakin' amazing!
Hi Laura!! firstly congrats for your channel, I love it! I would love to ask you for a vegetarian recipe, a vegetarian option on the filling, if you could make it it would be amazing! thanks so much for sharing your knowledges... un beso
I'd use mushrooms, most likely white button, since it's the mst accessible variety in my area.
In my country we have traditional dish - stuffed cabbage rolls, the filling is ground meat or meat with rice, my mum made the filling of fried mushrooms with onions and rice, red bell pepper for my sibling who hates mushrooms.
I just love your recipes Laura, i am confident that i have subscribed to the best food / cooking channel on The CZcamss.
Always wanted to learn how to make these. Made them tonight for dinner. They came out great! Thanks Laura!
sweet Arancini sounds delightful..with a cherry filling maybe and vanilla sause
Arancini means little orange 🍊 in Italian
I tried the arancini two winters ago when I went to visit my italian relatives and I absolutely loved them, so I've been trying to figure out how they were made since the day I had my first arancini. Yo made me so happy! haha
My favourite one, of all I tried on that trip, were the ones with muzzarella and bacon filling. OMG, they were amazing!
I'm new to watching Laura what a Italian blessing omg they were delis and brought so many memories back watching my papa making them
So glad I've found this. Whenever I come across these, I always buy some. I didn't know they were so (relatively) easy to make.
I love Arancini! They are also very popular here in Malta. After all, we are a stones throw away from Sicily. We usually have 3 types, and the shape of them tells you what's in them. I have to say tho - I love the chicken and mushroom ones! Do you have a recipe for that?
Also - why don't you add grated cheese and breadcrumbs to the rice?
Grazzi!
***** OOooooo - love those too!!!! YUMMMM!!!
+GoranMa what does arancini means
thank u lot of viewers where been saying i mentioned u
+Helga Haper thank u lot of viewers saying i mentioned u
***** hahaha
I would make a vegetarian version of these and add broccoli and cheese, sooo good!
good idea! Sounds delicious! I will try that sometime. Thanks for the idea!
Spinach and ricotta is my favorite aranchini honestly!
You should try the one with sweet potatoes
All the food you make looks great, and elegant but still so delicious. But the best thing of all, your recipes are the easiest! Love you and your recipes!
I love your channel, Laura! I have Italian ancestry and learn a lot from your culinary artistry.
I'm sure you would win Master Chef
Laura can these be made in the oven instead? I really don't like frying my food in all that oil. I did make them & they were good.
You can bake but be sure to oil the pan and turn as it starts to brown they are awesome air fried just spray them with oil
Seriously one of my fave Italian dishes! After watching your video when you were visiting your Nonna, I thought to myself your channel is legit and I need to keep watching. Thanks for posting this recipe!
I made these & they're so good. Thanks for sharing the recipe for it
I'm a simple man, I don't need a microwave
I'm already heated
That's not funny!
If you're a simple man, don't you need a microwave oven?
Can you please apply for "Food Network Star?" You already have the votes of all your fans :)
Not my vote! She never replies to any questions. All she wants is for you to join her website.
Thanks!.........same to you!!
She has her own show called Simply Laura on the Cooking Channel
JACK P same here but I still love her!! I asked her a couple times about funnel cake Lmao
I like her videos but, like Jack mentioned, I too have noticed that she very rarely responds to her subscribers. I must have asked what brand of cookware she uses in more than a dozen videos, and I even DM'd her once, but have never had a response. I also see legitimately decent questions from other people go unanswered. I understand she has more than 1 million subscribers, but even one response per video would be appreciated.
Made these on Saturday and turned out awesome. Love your recipes Laura
I fell in love with arancini when I was in Sicily last summer and I can't wait to have another one!!!
Can these be baked?
For sure. Just preheat the oven to 350 degrees and put them on a tray. They will probably come out a lot flatter though since they are not going directly into anything to help retain their shape though. Keep them in for about 20 minutes.
Could these be frozen prior to cooking? I would prefer to make more than I need and then put them in the freezer for those days am feeling lazy..
they look so good.. love the videos
Laura, I just found your channel a couple of days ago, I can't say that I've watched all of your videos, because there is a lot ha, but I can say that I've definitely watched enough to know you are an amazing chef. My grandfather was Italian, and unfortunately he has passed away, but your cooking reminds me of him, especially the passion that you have to cook. I think you're so amazing I emailed the food network in hopes they will watch your channel! Good luck with everything, you inspire me!!
Hi Laura! :)
Can you make a vegetarian version of this recipe please?
Pretty please?
i would replace the beef w feta or ricotta + spinach/broccoli , just cook the rest of the ingredients like she did but dont add the meat obv 😂 and mix em up w the ricotta or feta nd cooked spinach mixture and fill the rice balls ;(
;)*
Just add chorizo, bacon, don't skip the mozzarella, and you'll be fine.
Alvin Cornelius are you being sarcastic ? XD
park jimout i can't help it 😂
Welcome to the terror dome; the upper echelon
Investing on these large balls
Just as I watch my soap operas and other daily programmes... Laura Vitale is an everyday must! I come home, log onto CZcams, and there is my daily Laura in the Kitchen episode waiting for me. If a few days ever were to go by without Laura - I would notice in a heartbeat!
One of the best things about your videos is.. even though some recipes seem quite tedious, the ideas that they give out are amazing. I mean this might look tedious to do from scratch but would be awesome to do with some left over rice and left over meat curry.. and would be a great evening tea time snack.. Ahhh... just love you for all those inspirations.. You are awesome Laura.
Spinach and cheese
Melissa Facchini paddy
Oh yea, or creamed spinach!!!
The egg doesnt stick to the flour... Egg will stick to anything. What the flour does is preventing your rice mixture from soaking too much egg and becoming mushy
+James Tucker why are you attacking me, do you expect every person on the Internet to write only the things that you approve of? I wasn't being offensive, if you don't care about this information then let be and move on
+Igabella Actually, that's wrong. Without the flour, the egg will slide off the rice, thus making your breading patchy and it'll fall apart. The flour gives the egg a better surface so it sticks on evenly.
+Brandon Quinn no it will not become patchy, I have experiance it myself. What will happen is the rice will absorb so much egg it will fall apart, the flour is to prevent that.
Igabella
Nope.
+Igabella Wrong.
You are such a great teacher and cook. Thanks!!
Buon Natale Laura! So, I've made arancini in the past with my father's recipe with mixed results....not because of the recipe but the technique with which I put them together. So after watching your vids, I had amazing results. So thank you!!
Did you happen to misclick this video instead of rice balls music? i bet you did
Laura, I'd love it if you did a vegetarian version of this.
just replace the meat with some vegetables and mushrooms
A deli where I used to live made them with chanterelles. They were REALLY good!
If you live in the UK here, we get quorn which is a meat free substitute :)
Love me some Laura! So glad I found you a while ago. 💞🥰 Thank you for your recipe.
I made this with regular rice, what a mess
Cam Par
Yup, I haven't tried to make this recipe yet, but I can tell already that if I did, it would fall apart.
I think the egg yolks as a binder and chilling the mix helps keep them together. Looks yummy, and the rice balls look good too.
Geez the intro song is so intense
seriously? It's just a typical Italian song.
Kevin Exactly. Jennifer W Yes, It's just a typical Italian song. And I just think it's intense.

wayne lawson How cool, Wayne! I hope you and your wife continue your lives together (if that's what you want, naturally). Keep making those rice balls lol :) Maybe try the pork or chicken vindaloo filling that I recommended up above, using just plain white rice above in the video comments. Best to you and your honey!
wayne lawson
You rule Wayne!

Hey, you know, I tried to make these: worst cooking disaster for me EVER. They completely disintegrated in the oil! What a fiasco. Better luck next time.

Looks terrific - I'm gonna try this!
Laura your the best chef. thanks for your videos
When we made them in the pizzaria 30 years ago, I dont remember deep frying them. We baked them in the pizza oven, and they where softball sized and no tomato sauce in filling. Just beef and peas, and another was a cheese riceball with just mozzarella filling. But I think for those wanting alternatives, fill these with anything you'd like. I can already think of many ingredients I just cant give it away.
Wow that just looks sooo good

Awesome recipe!
Laura, I actually made rice balls last winter using leftovers from your butternut squash risotto recipe! First off, I love that recipe so much, and secondly, the leftovers are great for rice balls (when you add the mozzarella, like in this video). I will have to try these rice balls next! Thanks for making such great videos and recipes. Cheers!
