    Thank you so much! This is a perfect tuning. I wasn't sure what to use. Funny story too: I finally know, from your video, what the famous song from Markos "Καραντουζένι" is referring to - kara duzeni. It makes sense now. I think he must have used this tuning in the song! Thank you again!

      @@BarakSazBaglama : Many good tuners indicate the note range, makes it easy to avoid breaking strings! 😁 People who also have a piano or keyboard know what C4 is and can relate.

    I just tuned my new long-neck baglama to AGD (as opposed to your A#FC) as advised by another channel and managed to break one of the lower strings (fortunately it's the higher octave one so I still have a spare high octave string to sound there on D). Did I make a mistake? Are the lower 2 strings not supposed to go as high as D?

    • @BarakSazBaglama
      @BarakSazBaglama  Před rokem

      Some of the long neck Baglama can go hi as D ( bottom string closest to the floor ) but some cannot and they can only reach C
      On my CZcams channel there is also a video that shows how to change the strings if you need help
      And in my online course there are many explanations and techniques also about tuning ,changing strings and different kinds of instruments (Baglama) and their behavior and unique tunings:

    Hello from Japan.
    I would like to create tunings of C3 C4, G3 G3, C3 C4 C4 (from the ceiling to the floor) with a long neck saz.
    That means the two courses on the ceiling side are a whole tone higher than your tuning.
    The tension is too strong as it is, so I think it would be better to change the two courses to thinner strings.
    Could you please advise me on the string widths of those two courses (C3 C4, G3 G3) that you think are good?
    I subscribed to your channel. thank you.

    Two questions:
    How do you figure out the tuning of a song by listening to it? There are many songs I’d like to figure out by ear but I’m always unsure what the tuning is exactly and there isn’t always a live video of someone playing it etc. Will the low three string course be tuned to the key of the song and everything else tuned accordingly? Like what tuning would a song like תלכי ממני be in?
    And are longs almost always tuned in Kara tuning and short necks in baglama tuning in terms of intervals?

    • @BarakSazBaglama
      @BarakSazBaglama  Před rokem +2

      Hi, there are many different tuning‘s for Saz Baglama.
      If you are a beginner it’s always better to start with a long neck instrument and with Kara Duzeni tuning. (there are many different tunings also for long neck)
      if you don’t know all the different tuning‘s very well so it will be very difficult for you to recognize which tuning The song Will be on. But this is what’s nice about this instrument that you can play every song on every tuning so it doesn’t really matter, The beauty of the music and the unique sound of the Saz comes from you knowing how to play professionally and traditionally and with the right decorations specifically for this instrument.
      when you become more professional you will recognize which tuning it is specifically, also on this instrument many times when playing many saz’s together so each one will be on a different tuning and the music becomes very rich and beautiful when the main note stays the same in all of them.
      On some tunings the main note will be on the bottom string, on other it will be on the top and on some on the middle string, it depends on which tuning

      You have to check that the string itself is not wrapped around the key on the area that the key goes inside the neck. The string should be above the hole and not inside the hole - when it’s inside the hole so sometimes this happens - what you describe
