I DID IT. After Not Crocheting for nearly 15 years. I decided to start again. This was my first project. Turned Out Beautifully!!
Clear, Precise Tutorial! Awesome Teacher. Thank you!
I'm on the Hook Again!
Thank you!!
Welcome back to the world of crochet Laverne!
Very clear description & good close-ups of the stitches. I love it when video crocheters are crystal clear & detailed without going too long. Excellent presentation & a lovely pattern. 😊
I'm working a bigger blanket of purple hues. Used 248 for the initial chain. This was very easy to follow.
Classic pattern but still beautiful! Love the color you chose. Thank you for sharing this timeless pattern!
Very nice stitch Bonnie. This will definitely be added to my favorite list. TFS
So sweet! The first afghan I started was a ripple afghan in 1970. It was a beautiful mix of about 9 shades of fall colors. That was when I learned to ALWAYS make note of the hook size for each project! During my cross country move, I lost the hook I was using! I picked up a hook I thought was close enough! You know how that went! Been thinking about making another one after all these years. Thank you Bonnie for your inspiration and for the walk down memory lane! You are an awesome teacher.
Thank you Rosemary! Yes, it's so easy to forget which hook was used. Blessings to you!
Never been a fan of crocheting Chevron, But this one I must give a try! Thank you!
Been making this pattern for 50 years. Love it. Thanks for letting other people know
Absolutely gorgeous
This is my favorite chevron pattern! Easy to do and very relaxing. Thank you very much, Bonnie!❤
I love chevron anything! I just inherited a queen size single crochet blo chevron scrapghan that my great grandmother made in the 70s. She passed just before I was born so it's pretty special to me for that reason, plus the fact that it was in my parents house my whole life. So many memories! You can very well tell it's 70s because there's a lot of browns, yellows, greens, and oranges. It was made with super saver and is in great condition.
Yes, Granny Squares were the starting point of when I learned to crochet back around 1970!

Hi, just finished my second Chevron baby blanket and I'm pleased with the end result. I find it easy following your patterns and you take time explaining all the steps. I've knitted for years for all my family but can only crochet now due to arthritis , cant seem to hold knitting pins now. Anyway look forward to your next video. I'm going to try a Ripple baby blanket now . Bye now from Sunderland England.
So glad you enjoyed this one Lesley! Do take care.
Very pretty. I'm making one using scraps ofcyarn
*I'VE BEEN TRYING TO RECALL THIS PATTERN!* I am YELLING with JOY because this is one of the first stitches my grandma Lucy Coker Jefferson taught me. She also did it in a double crochet zig zag, and it was sooo simple, but I just cannot recall exactly how it went. I've literally been on a sort of spiritual quest for a tutorial to jog my memory, so thanks, hear???
My pleasure Jancey!😊❤️

Hi Goofy Kayla.. I'm Goofy Sue .. trying to type this while having a sneezing fit. Such a fit that had to go down to ladies room in my house. Anyway haha don't know what I was going to say. Love seeing you as always. Maybe my brain will do better at remembering.
Yes it's a great day to crochet. 🌻🌼🌺❤️🐦🙏
😂😂😂Welcome to the “non-perfection” club Sue Ann! I totally understand!😊❤️
@@BonnieBayCrochet thanks 👍
The first blanket I ever made was a continuous Grannysquare in the 76,77. It was yellow, green & white big enough for a queen size bed
That was my first project as well, but mine was green and yellow!
Those square plastic keepers on bread make great stitch markers! And they're free
Hi Ms Bonnie ma'am,
I have been following you on this beautiful blanket. I have an issue I don't know how to fix. My blanket keeps getting wider and wider and wider... It's growing more square clusters and I don't know what I did wrong. Can you please help me.
Thank you so much for sharing.
I just love you so much Bonnie ma'am, I hope you don't mind. You are like a sister I never had or thought I needed! You are a great teacher 😉🥰.
I would really need a photo to understand what is going on, but sounds like you are adding extra stitches at the end of the rows. I recommend rewatching the first few rows of this project again to see what you are doing differently.
Just finished
Yay Anna!!
Love this blanket. I can’t find how much yarn I will need.
I do list this information in the video. Here are the yarn recommendations: 5 skeins each of Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky (100% acrylic, 100 g/3.5 oz, 136
m/149 yd). (I used 5 skeins of the colors #339 Sailor Blue, #334 Kingfisher Blue, #335
Duck Egg Blue, 15 skeins total.)
You can use Bobby pins, too.
Great idea!😊
Hi so am do u possibly have a video of a bottom n top edge border? Just wondering like a frame going all around for a edge? This is so BEAUTIFUL thank you
No, I don't have a video like this. Usually chevron style blankets don't need a border, but you can just continue the single crochets all the way around if you would like.
Bobbie pins work too as a market
I have so much, I can use what I have.
Your sweater is very pretty.Did you make it? It looks like a top down with a circular yoke. I do the count 5trick to. It happens that I can only do 5 chains before moving the yarn again. Thank you for this video. I love the ripplechevron stitch p and have used it many times. Lately I find my edges get uneven on the left, but ok on the right. I’ve tried different patterns but haven’t figured it out yet. Help!!
Yes, I make these sweaters and you can see this one here: czcams.com/video/lB7lJDT0pwA/video.html. You can always send me clear photos of the issue you are having to bonniebay@me.com and I can take a look.
Thank You , easy to understand, so planning to make 2 of those. How big did it turn out to be , I would like to make this foe my twin size bed.
This one is
Thank You
How big is this blanket originally, I would like to make big enough for a twin size bed.
Thank you , You are a joy to listen and learn.
This one is 52" wide x 56" long (including optional edging).
Hi, how many stitches do I begin with to make a one meter square blanket?
I really have a hard time with the combined double crochet. I cannot get it close to the last cluster of three. There is always a big gap. Can I do a 2 or 3 DC cluster instead? Thanks for your help.
Definitely try it and see how it looks.
I use a bobbypin to mark my rows...
My row 2 (after the SC row) ends after a valley; i still have the correct cluster count, but when coming back to do the next row, i have space for four clusters before the valley. My other side ends after a peak and has the space for the five clusters. My row 4 will not end correctly if i continue. I did the 178 starting chain as the video suggests. I have followed the instructions exactly.
I would double check that.
I accidentally ended up with an extra cluster at the end of the row, would it make a huge difference? This is my first Chevron.
I made this blanket but in green colors came out really nice I don’t know how to put a picture of my blanket
I want to do that blanket in stead of 25 stitches is it 35 stitches as long as I want plus 3
Hello Bonnie, 😊
Thank you for this tutorial.
I have a question please.
So I added 35 to my chain f 178 = 213 for
6 chevrons.
I wanted my throw a little bit longer.
I wanted to adjust for my Worsted Weight.
I thought mine would not be as wide as your chunky weight yarn. Or my Chevrons would shrink my original chain a little.
I have 212 stitches.
But I realize, My R 1
SC row is a even number. While yours is odd. 177
Will this matter.
Does odd I’m Ready even number matter with this chain
I don’t want to have to frog it.
Thank you so so very much.
🙏🏽💕💐😊
If you are off by a chain or two, you should be ok. Just may need to skip an extra stitch here or there on the foundation row. No one will ever notice. I promise!
I have to try this, what size is your project, and thank you for this video it’s so easy to understand
This throw is approximately 52" wide x 56" long (including optional edging). I usually have this information in the video description.
Hello Bonnie ❤ I'm seeming to have a big gap on the valleys and can't figure out why, any advice? Thank you 💐
If it looks significantly different from the sample in the video, you many need to back it up and recount.
can i make a bed sheet used this pattern??
