Fun fact:
In the original portal game there is only one reason you are dragged back in. You might remember GlaDOS talking about the “party escort bot”. If you lie on the ground and raise on hand the party escort bot will drag you away. When you are flung out of the facility, you end up unintentionally lying in that exact position.

The Portal series will forever be a twisting and fan favorite game series I’ve played. You cannot imagine how powerful the storyline was in the game through toying the player, betrayal, and relief.

Technically there are 6 characters: chell, wheatly, charoline who became glad0s, cave johnson who dies before charoline became glad0s, and ATLAS and P-body, the test bots you play as in the coop mode

GLaDOS is made of two parts.
The Generic Lifeform system which runs Caroline consciousness, and the Disc Operating System which runs the Artificial Intelligence.
The DOS in GLaDOS overpowered Caroline and immediately began trying to kill people.
When GLaDOS deletes all of Caroline, we learn that Caroline did not turn evil, but rather that the DOS was the one behind the strings all along.
I think that she cannot delete Caroline, cuz it's the most basic part of her, but she faked in for proudness

right, it's not a thing that makes sense. it's like saying you're deleting your 6 year old self, the present is built on the past even if you don't explicitly remember it it's still impacted you now

Fun fact: The original needing for Portal 1 had you just die on the carpark. After announcing Portal 2, Valve changed the ending to have her be dragged back.
In Soma the "Villain" is an IA that had the mission to protect humans but then problems problems in not spoiling the story, and the IA was basically making artificial organs to save humans and it wouldn't let them die so there are people you find in the middle of the game who have like a lung or a heart in the wall.

theory: gladOs once said that the air around chell is not real air, it's just the same air that got cleaned many times, i say it's false, because in the facility,there are some plants grows around aperture(it's not much,but it's enough to give the place real air).
GlaDOS’s humor was lost on you. She was constantly saying things like that to try to make her feel bad. Like when she used the spring board, and GlaDOS says, “I guess you put on a few pounds”

No? Not really. Its a VALVe game, you’d have a hard time to find a person who plays games who doesn’t know what Portal is even if its not by name
Where did you get that idea from? Portal (along with Half-life) was the dominant force in gaming innovation of it's time. People don't talk about it that much because it's a game that was released 15 years ago.

Glados didnt just turn evil. Scientists installed cores to make her more comtrollable, but instead she became more aggressive. This is the reason Wheatley betrays you when you install him in the main core.
Sounds like somebody doesn't know who inspired the entirety of GLaDOS' character

Chelle doesn't speak, she's a vessel for the players personality, thus, there's only 2 characters in the whole game (plus a bunch of dead people like ratman and cave johnson
Technically there are 8 (Chell, GLaDOS, Wheatley, P-Body, Atlas, Turret, Chonk turret, Giant turret) but there are also the many cores and scientists before the aperture purge but we don't see them in-game + cave johnson and caroline so technically 10 characters

Glados being a simulacrum was actually the easiest plot twist to figure out because of the way she spoke. She clearly had the mind of a human at one point. But yes she was a great villain

Fun fact: GlaDos is a character based on the AI villain SHODAN from the System Shock series.
Who I'd say has an even better characterization than GlaDos herself. Just based off of the intro to System Shock alone.

A great AI in fiction is AM from Harlan Ellison's story I have no mouth and I must scream. AM is basically the epidomy of "what if AI gained sentience and turned against us?"

I love how easy it is to hate her but to love her aswell
One thing portal did that I think helped is they really amazingly humanized their AI, with even things as simple as the turrets holding personality and seeming to have some kind of self-preservation, knowing when they are vulnerable and even asking for assistance. Doing this made it feel like that program was all the more real, and then adding in that an entire person was in that code just made glados feel even more of a person than an AI.

I love how Portal is connected to the Half-Life series yet can make perfect sense WITHOUT playing the Half-Life games so it can give players the experience of a great story game without the need of complicated lore
