I would pay money to see Chris and Brad do a whole day of saltwater fishing together . 😄
Yeah, we need this
How much pay?
Trueee, have them each cook a meal on a boat inbetween fishing.
I would love to see an episode where Brad takes Chris Noodling and Matty Matheson joins them. This would be epic. :)
@@MD-sc1jk that would have to be a pay per view special
How is Chris going to laugh at Brad’s lunch when his brought the same thing, just the boushie version. Brad has the true plowman’s lunch hahah
What does boushie mean? It's it like a zoomer thing?
@@Shinkajo Think she meant bougie (i.e. bourgeoisie)?
@@Shinkajo fancy
Boushie? You already edited this comment once, may as well fix it. bourgeois shortens to bougie. I mean Christ, I thought I was white.
@@bearchow1723 really? You think?
Pairing Chris and Brad together is honestly the best move. They're hilarious together
Great camera chemistry, show them more together please !
That Chris/Brad intro is the funniest thing I’ve seen on this channel in a long long time. Thanks for the good laugh.
The goldfish saltine situation was too good. Two sleeves!!
this channel is a joke now after the woke garbage in 2020. no one finds it funny, sorry.
"CHRIS THERE'S DIPS!"
Chris losing it to what Brad brought is probably the best stuff BA's released in a while.
*_Edit_*_ : As an Englishman, Brad not liking the pickle was a tad disappointing_ 😔
That felt like the OG test kitchen. The chemistry between those guys is what made the channel great.
Totally agree 🤣
Really not a high bar unfortunately
I was literally just looking for this comment hahahahahahahah trueeeee
Chris reaction was like: Brad you forgot the assignment & packed what was in the shelf to have something presentable
“Soggy kale is a $20 restaurant salad” ROFL. Love that line.
I fee like BA purposefully holds back Chris and Brad as a pairing because it’s just so good. Gotta use it wisely
Chris and Brad are total opposites and together they are the best. Brad is so loud and brash and everything just comes out of him and Chris is so measured and precise but both so passionate I love them 😍
cat and dog energy!
I loved how this wasn't fancy or "cheffy." Leftovers, tiffin daba, basic sandwich makings... I could relate.
Shilpa & Zaynab losing it in the outro is everything to me hahaha
"No time for lunch" Bon Appetit do better for your team! This should be the exception, not the expectation ;) Even when there are continuous recipes being created having a REAL break to unwind is a must!
I SO agree! This made me sad for them. It's so important to take a break
yeah literally people need breaks
Honestly most chefs don't get a chance to have a lunch during the day. We cook for everyone but ourselves lol
@@youngpriestess4107 maybe that should change
Give these people a lunch break Bon Apetit
Chris breaking down makes me nostalgic for old Brad and Chris BA days. Love this
I have never seen Chris laugh this much and it has just solidified how much I love Chris
Went to culinary school with Chris. He’s a smug know it all but not a talented cook.
@@EverOrtiz11x11 That's how he comes across to me also.
@@EverOrtiz11x11 i can totally see that..but thats kind of why i like him haha
Zaynab has such a cool vibe to her, she seems like such a chill, no-bs person
Apples actually have a ton of phytonutrients and antioxidants that go along with the sugar. They are worth eating. Just don't eat *only* apples and you will be fine.
I've read similar, the other thing is to eat the whole fruit. Apple juice would be a sugar bomb but a whole apple with skin is much healthier
the end was the most relatable conversation and banter including just laughing about it now as adults.
Chris: [to Brad] "are you my child??"
The rest of us: he's not not.
Brad and Chris interactions make watching ba worth it.
Chris and Brad are the quintessential INTJ/ ESFP bromance pair. “Are you like my child”. I love it.❤😂
stfu with those pseudo-scientific pErSonALiTy tYpEs
I guess for both Indian and Chinese people, lunch is a formal meal, that's why we have a hot hearty meal in the middle of the day, then take a nap. I was taken a back of the food they eat for lunch when I first came to Australia: an apple, or a banana, or a bag of chips? At lease get yourself a hotdog, or a bowl of noodles please.
You guys should make a video on the chef’s favorite dishes to make for parties!
15:10 OMGS That is so nice. There are a handful of times my mom forgot to make my lunch when I was in elementary school and she would drop off some piping hot chicken adobo and rice or something similar. I still wanted chocolate milk and a frozen pink lemonade in that weird triangle packs but nothing beat my mom’s hot Filipina lunch. Even if it was 87 degrees F in the oppressive Los Angeles spring time and it was pizza for school lunch that day 😋
lmao @ Shilpa refusing her parents’ piping hot curry chicken packed lunch!!
If i only saw chris and brad’s lunch, i would NOT BELIEVE that they worked at a major global food publishing business.
Gonna tell my kids Chris/Brad were 'The Odd Couple'. More of this duo pls.
Also as a Brit it makes me super happy to see the humble Ploughman's getting the love it deserves. A true 'picky dinner', like a working class charcuterie ❤
Chris and red Leicester are actually the odd couple
Looking back, I really appreciate my mom taking the time to pack my lunches. As a kid you want to do what the other kids can and try the school lunch-until you find out they're trash and your mom was trying to save your taste buds lol....the school pizzas and coffee cakes used to smack though
Last year my kid begged to eat the school lunch. So I finally let him, he didn't even make it a week before he said "The school lunch tastes like foot, I want your food again"
Shilpa was great, would love to see more of her
"Apples aren't good for you."
*eats two sleeves of saltines for lunch*
Chris pretends we don’t remember him learning about Red Leicester in the recreating of Jamie Oliver’s burger. ‘It needs no introduction”, oh really cause you missed it last time.
Brad and Chris are the most epic pairing.
It would be interesting to see them all pack kids lunches!
Yes!
Nah
Chris and his hyperventilation laugh gets me every time lololol
"Chris! Chris! Close your eyes! We're going seafishing and here's lunch!!!!............Goldfish!" LOLOLOLOLOL. I'm rolling
Tiffin carrier is my new buy with a little of everyone’s lunch in it… 👌
I like the carrier, but could do without what was in it.
I like to heat my lunch. Mine went to goodwill
@@joyaustin6581 i mean you can put it in an oven or in hot water or something
@@glennzanotti3346 what a totally necessary, not culturally disparaging comment
@@vin2164 you expressed cultural bias. He didn’t. maybe it’s food allergy, intolerance to spice, dislike of specific foods, vegan or gluten diet. Some people just don’t like rice. Im not a fan of eating plain Greek yogurt
"Didn't know you were coming, Chris!" LOL I love the honesty. No BSing
Lunch is a luxury😣
Apricot jam
Roti❤️
Green beans w/ coconut & curry leaf💚
Grain salad w/ feta, almonds, herbs, olive oil, 🍋😋 🇬🇧 Ploughman’s lunch🧀
Never tried Red Leicester👀
Pickle ~ savory, sweet chutney
Kale 🥬 parm, roasted chickpeas gotta try w/ capers😛
A plate of limes💚💚💚
Masala rice🧡
I’m getting a Tiffin dabba❤️
I love how Chris is still bitter about Red Leicester 😂
Red leicester cheese is so distinctive, you would definitely know it anywhere if you tasted it, even blindfolded…
Right, Chris? 😂
The red leicester got me good
😂
ROASTED 😂
I was looking for this comment. If you know, you know.
I had to scroll way too far for this comment, lol
This was great! It was really fun seeing how people think about packing their lunch
I mustve watched Chris' and Brad's interaction 5 times by now. Absolutely incredible. Resubscribed in hopes of seeing more of this OTP
Thank you for sharing. I love the idea of storing lunch in Tiffins
Brad: "I didn't know you were coming 🤷♂" 🤣
Thanks for the laugh Chris and brad!!! I lost it after the 2 packs of saltines.
We need more of this
Chris and Brad chemistry is the heartiest and sweetest! 💗
Fuji is the chosen apple. I will continue to say this every time a video has a discussion of kinds of apples. I will not stop until I am acknowledged.
Not Chris packing Red Leister cheese 😂
"A cheese that needs no introduction." Lmfao
Seeing Christina Chey in the background makes me happy for some reason
Seriously, the whole history and logistical necesity for the tiffin and dabbawallas is fascinating.
I love these tips and stories! Thank you for
Sharing!
As someone who lives in Leicester, I appreciate the excitement over our cheese!
🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
It has a bit of history on this channel, I think going back to a series Chis has where he tries to recreate a recipe of a dish they give him blindfolded. I think there was a bit of a meltdown over the struggle to identify Red Leicester.
@@rileystewart3170 ah I see … “melt down” - love the pun
Chris and Brad are my favorite part of BA
I like the grain salad and the kale chickpea salad. Healthy, convenient and delicious
Loved this video! Such great interactions. 🤩🤩🤩
If I was packed a school lunch with roti and a mix of chicken and vegetable curry, I would have been HYPED to eat that!
CHris you nailed it... I love eating like that... just need a glass of vino... thanks you too always too funny
Love Chris, he and Brad compliment eachother so well! Seems like such a great time in that kitchen.
The last three were amazing!
The new hires at BA are such creative talented cooks I love them
I like Brad’s qualifying “I won’t do anything weird” 😂
Brad is wrong about honey crisp apples (or any apples) being bad for you. With a relatively how glycemic index of around 38 and full of fiber, phytonutrients, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, it is far better than the cola (GI of 68 and lacking any nutritive benefit) that Brad mentioned.
I think he's just saying to view it as a treat, which it is. Sure, it's better than a can of cola, but that's a pretty low bar to clear.
@jay ann go to bed
I think he's confusing apple juice which is basically just sugar water with a whole apple. A whole apple is good for you. Apple juice isn't.
@@JHallOnline fruits are not treats, they can be part of your meals and snacks on a daily
@jay ann holy cow, you are triggered LOL.. let him have his opinion goodness gracious - Brad's clearly messing around saying it's as bad as a coca cola.
I love how everyone seems to have so much fun in the test kitchen.
yeah after the change I was worried but everyone has found their stride and are more comfy around each other
It's mandated fun
@@albuseisenhorn3385 what change happened?
That grain salad looks awesome. I'm going to have to try that!
I just hope it's enough calories! If I ate that for lunch, I would be hungry before dinner
Omg Shilpa seems so cool! I was intrigued by her name because my partner is South Indian and I’m white and I was wondering if she was mixed race, but then I read about her husband. Super cool to see even more cultures being represented on Bon Appetit! 😊
Your story seems interesting. I am a South Indian and my husband is white :) just the opposite of you 😃. Are you used to watching him eat "curd rice" / yogurt rice by now? 😆
I’m on the honeycrisp train, too. Still better than ice cream, which is what I would usually have for dessert.
Love that Chris brought Red Leicester! Jamie Oliver will haunt him for life.
Not me seeing Shilpa's green beans-grated coconut dish and screaming 'that's beans thoran' ;-;
Chris and Brad needs their duo show
This is really awesome
Please don't leave us hanging without that South Indian green bean recipe! 😋
Brad and Chris are everything!!
Great video, I really enjoyed it!!
Don't think we don't see you with the Red Leicester there, Chris. We haven't forgotten. 😂
Yay more Chris! 😍
Love to see fun in kitchen 😊
Good 👍
I'm here for Brad's chaotic energy and nothing else.
brad and chris are just great. the OGs
Tiffin Dabba is a game changer. So cool
Chris and Brad need to take their act on the road!!!
A Ploughman’s lunch in the UK would never include salami. The meat portion usually is sliced ham. But well done Chris
Brad’s energy makes me so hyped! I never in my life wanted to go fishing and somehow I’m now sitting in sweats, shopping for fishing gear, and packing this crazy cracker and soup lunch! This guy could sell ice to an Eskimo. Let’s go team Brad!
Needed this vid
I love a good Chris and Brad interaction
The thoran surprised me a little, I have to admit. That's not one you see much, but it's simple and delicious.
If you're in a hurry or don't have the beans, frozen peas or edamame do quite well as the main component too.
Thoran is an understated dish, whereas it just adds so much flavour. And thank you for calling thoran as thoran:)
I don't actually know any other name for it- is there another common one? Or does it often just get the White Dude Treatment and get called something like '(Vegetable) with Toasted Coconut and Curry Leaf'?
Chris: "I only do almond butter"
Brad: "AHHH, I forgot that about you." as if it's a core personality trait or piece of life history
Guys this chickpea kale thing has me straight to the shops, I'm so ready for non-soggy lunch
glad to see the Test Kitchen getting back to normal (it probably has been a while, but, ya know)
Good job!.
I love Chris and Brad lol they're great
Sheet pan dinner grain lunch is genius.
Brad is such a real person 😂
I will now be on the hunt for a tiffin. I’ve been looking for something like this for a while but never knew the proper term for it!
Brad's lunch is the best thing 🤣
All of these lunches are snacks! Thanks for sharing :)
The cutaway at 9:45 is genius
more of chris and brad please XD
Ok I am inspired ❤
Brad and Chris 💯 dynamic duo
Everybody out here talking about chris and brad while im out here enamored with the tiffin box and the fire food in it
I never have had kale and I’m not sure how to prep it, want to try it definitely 😍
