No, but they share the same universe. They usually called "When they cry series"(Higurashi, Umineko, Ciconia). They had a different story but they share the same universe and author of course. Sometimes anyone theorized they're connected bcz there is some foreshadowing at Higurashi.
Battler doesn't know who Beatrice is. The reason roses are red 🌹 He suffers from amnesia. He doesn't know who his mom is neither who Beatrice and the Ghost from the Mansion are. Bern and Lambda weren't enough for him to see the Truth. There are things only the old, the real ones, can see, because It turns Red. Like the first time the Pink turned White to Red.
This opening is better than the entire Umineko anime adaptation
