    Nice demo. What blows my mind is how many people are so opposed to working with pocket holes at all. One guy on a channel recently he said he is not even willing to try pocket holes because he just doesn't like the idea of using them. That to me is just ridiculous. Pocket holes are not to be used in every instance, but when they are applicable, they provide an incredibly strong joint. I love my Kreg K4, my Massca and my Armor. I guess I am kind of a tool nut.

    That's a good review, Jon! And your demo of the jig was easy to understand. Now I am going to take my Armor jig into the shop and try it on some plywood. (Scrap pieces until I get the hang of it.) Peace and God bless you, Jon!

    Hi Jon, I just received my new Armor auto jig. Thank you for your video. Now I can attach dust collection to my toe screws connections. As an aside, the dust collection, pressure Handel and drill guides are all on the same side. So the worker can work on large panels without having to reach around the workpiece. Good advise! Thanks!

    I must say that the Armor brand does have some perks. Main one to me is the guide stop for the thickness of the material, that is a quicker set up than Kreg's. But Kreg does make a decent set up also. It all depends on the users needs, more than being fancy.
    Thank you Mr. Jon
    Take care

      @branchandfoundry560 Před rokem +1

      I agree, Tim. I have the K5, which I like. But locating the stop collar isn't as straight forward as this. Also, the K5 dust shroud pops right off with the slightest bump. I always have to clamp my vacuum hose the benchtop to keep it attached, which is annoying. Wonder how secure Armor's clear dust shroud is by comparison.

    Jon - Great work. Thumbs Up. For us color blind people, if you can send any feedback to the Armor people about the screw length guide, that would help. The color guide is of little help for us. Perhaps there's a way they could update it.

    Nice video but I will stick with my Kreg Jig as I have been with Kreg for the past 30 years and still have my first one that they made all out of aircraft grade aluminum and with steel inserts. It is paid for and works just fine... The old one as well as the new one. Nice to see that many other companies have copied the Kreg Jig now.

    hi Jon, i have the same jig but when i drilled the pocket hole, it is not as deep therefor the screw is not totally hidden. I have the Kreg R3 and the hole is very deep. I've contacted Armor tools and they sent me a replacement, same deal. Since you have the jog, how deep is your pocket hole?

    Are you still planning on getting a Makita track saw? Are you considering holding out for the Milwaukee? I don’t have any Makita tools at this time, but the 40v Makita looks good. I am a little hesitant to get the Milwaukee track saw when it’s available, even though I’ve got a lot of Milwaukee tools and batteries. I prefer to wait for Gen 2 and make sure they’ve worked out the kinks. Any thoughts?

      Anyway, if anybody out there is as dense as I am and needs it spelled out, pocket screws are a great way to make cabinets, and you’ll want the extension arms to keep the panels from wobbling around.

    I had this jig and it was a complete piece of crap! The drill jammed up in the sleeve and broke in half. Armor has one of the worse customer service anywhere! Finally got a replacement 6 months later and after maybe 10 uses, drill jammed again and snapped!
    Switched to Kreg and it’s worked perfectly for past 2 years!

    Genuinely how are we supposed to believe anything opinion based stated in this video when it’s a more likely scenario that you are simply not speaking Ill of the unit based the fact that they payed you to review it ( the product along with any of the other products they sent along with it ) as that Is a form of payment in my book cuz they give it to you for free, surely along with plenty of other goodies, say possibly the fancy table ? The one referred to as “fairly new to the shop but quickly becoming an integral part of my workflow” or something to that effect… but of course them sending you a thousand dollars in gear is going to shift your perspective undeniably firstly because there was no investment or cost involved so ya of course for free it’s amazing but pay the 150$ then review it & I bet you would see things a bit diff…I really have enjoyed many videos of yours but I just wanted to share my concerns because these are imo “ fake reviews” & are in fact more similar to a subcontracted mini infomercial than they are a real review…really a form of sponsored promotional vids parading around as reviews and they flood CZcams always presenting themselves as authentic, customer based reviews of actual satisfied purchasing parties whom were satisfied with the product, that’s a review, not someone who’s interested in the field or hobby whom makes videos on yt whom would be incentivized by the free product itself…. videos like this have to come with a disclaimer in other countries explaining that it’s a promotional video and not a genuine customer review….unfortunately stateside it’s a little harder to find out if a content creator is on the payroll or not which he isn’t hiding so i appreciate the honesty but would appreciate a real review even more

      @@JonPetersArtHome I didn’t say you didn’t use it but if I wanted a product demo, I could go to their website I wanted a real review & I believe I’m not alone thinking there is a conflict of interest when a companies product that you’re reviewing is sending you not just that product but others for an opinion😂as that is seen as a form of payment and or s be clear that I’m not the only one who feels this way cuz other countries have started mandating that content creators disclose this information in their videos and also classifying these videos as the advertisements they are
