This house is actually in my hometown and I visited one of the open houses, the master bedroom is on the 2nd floor and the second bedroom is in the basement.

Kayak, you should have read the house info more carefully. The second bedroom is in the basement! So the whole width upstairs is the bedroom, as there is no hallway.

I’ve literally lived a block from to this house my whole life and let me tell you: I toured it when I was like 12 and it was hella normal on the inside. Like you couldn’t even tell it’s weird from the inside at all. Skinny legend ✨✌🏻

this is an old comment lmfao but I live in Northbrook so pretty close and I was with a friend and she told me she did the same thing haha
I’m from Deerfield and we call this house the “Pie” house. It’s deceptively big and you did a pretty good job from the outside (I’ve never been in) but it’s longer than your build and the backyard has a shed, bins, and it’s pretty small.
They had a finished basement. So the top floor it's just a bedroom and a bathroom. That's how they got it all to fit. Pretty sure it needed to be longer too.
Not really a challenge, but a build suggestion: Maybe building a British/English home. Most builds are what some of us would call "massive" suburban style homes with pools and huge patios. It would be fun to try see Simsie build a different style of home she's probably not that familiar with. And maybe she could ask Plumbella or her boyfriend for tips, seeing as they both live in England. 😂
EDIT: Just an add, if I see more than one bathroom in a house like this I'll loose it (jokingly) like no en suite, just one little bathroom. For example, in my house and my cousins house, the toilet is in its own little room and the bath (no shower) and sink are separate.

This makes me feel like we need twin, full, Queen, and king sized beds in the sims. Like how you can have different sized and shaped cabinets. They should do the same thing for couches so you can make wrap around couches and what not. Or like how counters work and connect to each other.

Turns out, it's actually 3 levels, bedrooms are on 2 separate levels. one in the basement, and one on the top floor. That's the reason the bedrooms weren't working quite right😃

We have one in Italy too, it’s called “fetta di polenta” and it’s located in turin
Do a build challenge where all the rooms are the item menu rooms. For example: you can choose what kind of cabinets you want, but they have to be placed like they are in the menus.

I love what lilsimsie did with the build, but I think the reason she had trouble with the size of the bedrooms is because the original house has the second bedroom in the finished basement.
Once the pandemic is over, fly Simsie out to Illinois to tour this house.

i looked up this house and turns out its three stories! one bedroom for each floor. that's how they were able to fit two bathrooms and bedrooms on "one" floor lol. But i can't tell if the other bedroom is actually the basement or the third story, but either way, interesting house!

All the leather furniture in the downstairs makes sense if they have multiple shedding dogs. They are more hard-wearing, less likely to tear or scratch from little/big claws jumping on and off, easy to clean and don't hold onto the hair ready to attach to your best outfit.
We gave up on material couches a few years back because we got fed up with having to hoover them every six seconds just so we could sit, then get up and not look like an unshorn sheep.

I know this is old, but there is a plan of the house on the Zillow page now! There’s actually a basement, which is how the bedrooms are so big, one in the basement and one on the second floor.
The photos look spacious bc they are taken with a big angular... If I take a photo of my tiny apartment with a big angular it looks like doble the big, when in reality I have like 1 person/1 and a half space to walk xD

Replicating really buildings in the sims can be so fun, haha I’m doing a lot of these builds these days. It’s so addictive...

Why are contemporary houses always so...depressing? It’s all just whites and beiges. It’s so sad to look at.
I recently moved to Grand Rapids, MI from places where the houses *are* all depressing and boring, and I've just gotta say: the architects must dream of coming out here because every single building is sooooo cool. My boyfriend can attest to me saying "the buildings here are too cool" several times any time we drive around. There's a house down the street from me (although I believe it's been converted into a dentist office) that looks like a CASTLE. In the middle of a neighbourhood. It's awesome.
When I was a kid somebody painted one of those wartime homes bright purple and everybody made fun of it. In retrospect, they were all just cowards

I’ve got an idea for a challenge that is more challenging than the skinny house one:
Make a house that is 2 units wide, and as long as you want. The only exeption is the bathroom which you can extend from the back but has to be 1 unit wide. The house has to be functional and have everything you need including a skill building items. You can add a second floor. You are not allowed to put any of the furniture or items that would go in a house normally outside. It can have more than one floor.
You can make the bathroom not an extension of the house, it would be a fun way to add to the challenge.

You did a REALLY GOOD JOB with this build! I wonder if the house irl was longer in proportion to its width, giving more space for table on the same wall with the couches and the second upstairs bathroom? It would make the house appear even skinnier.
You didn't mention if the house in the listing had the dimensions. Not that THAT would help at all in a Sims build!

LOVE the dog statues! The ones on the front porch & bathroom are whippet/greyhounds, the best dogs ever! (said like a whippet owner, of course!) That's what The Sims 4 needs: a nice whippet statue. You did a great job of recreating the skinny house within the limitations of TS4's build mode. Yay, Kayla!

There is apparently a basement:

I wish the sims 4 had the color customization of the sims 3, these recreation episodes would be just that much better being able to change individual textures
