Appreciated your minimalist approach. Using it i was able to take it even further, only took off panel and door latch, being careful and methodical was able to remove all four actuators (quad cab) without too much fuss. Well other than putting the first one back together and admiring the work until I realized my shop light was still inside the door. Off to go do a burnout...

This is way better than the traditional method. This is my 4th time doing this to multiple trucks with bad actuators. I hated the old way because reassembly was a bear. Your way is way better because most everything stays put. Thank you!!!!

Man, I was watching the other videos and it was kicking my butt… I ended up watching yours and I was done in 30min. Thanks!
Edit: just finished the other side (both needed it)…. After doing one, I bet the other one took me maybe 20 min… super quick in and out. This is the way to do it. I used: the 11mm socket with extension, 11mm box wrench and 3 different length flat head screwdrivers. With this, I was always able to get the right angle to pop the old one off and the cable off.

Found this video while trying to replace my own. I found an even shorter shortcut that doesn’t involve removing the outside handle. There’s a small slot towards the bottom inside the door latch on the side of the door. Get a small screwdriver or something to push in the slot. The push tab is directly behind the slot. Just push the tab in that way and slide the actuator out from inside the door panel. Thought I’d share!

Awesome tip! I used Chinese replacement parts so I'm sure I'll get a chance to try your method soon. Thanks!

Here's an idea, figure it out 1st then make the video. Instead of wasting everybody's time

Some people appreciate watching someone who isn't an expert complete a repair successfully. Like my father, who this video was made for.
