I really liked it, I never seen as catching pokemon as repetitive because there's so many ways to can approach to catching and I like how collecting resources can tie up to increasing pokemon friendship. To me it was one of the few times rideable pokemon was fun. Also the smaller details of the game were just nice, like how you increase in rank, you clearly need better gear and they give you the means to create such gear and how all the myths related to certain pokemon were formed. One of my favorite moments was the origin of a certain item we all know but we can never use, but when we see it it shows how important it use is. The only thing that's not a good thing is when you got to "beat a pokemon x amount of times" for the Pokedex, but I guess it was balanced out with "use x move x times" and "use x type moves on the pokemon"
I have actually never stopped playing it! I like it far more than SV, of course gen 4 being my favorite gen has something to do with it, but it’s just so fun. I’m on my way to 100% the Pokédex 😊
Not sure why the comments here are so negative, I loved this game on release and I loved it when I played through it again about 2 months ago. The most glaring issue is the graphics that look worse than some Wii games, but I think this game is still a gigantic step in the right direction for the pokemon franchise. Also, for a small creator, I loved this video and thought it was very well put together! Best of luck!
Its more so, what Legends Arceus was comparing itself to, which was the Zelda games, Breath of the Wild / Tears of the Kingdom and they are objectively better games. Legends Arceus was fun, cool, great story (including "postgame" with Volo, or good story not including), It had am amazing premise which every fan enjoyed, catching mechanics were a blast. But the "people" aspects were lacking as towns were soulless. There were no in game puzzles (keep in mind gen4 is notorious for its cave puzzles = which spear pillar cave path got reduced to a diagonal tunnel...) But it did have a lot of charm with its pokemon interactions, new battle gimmicks are fun, arceus battle dream simulator enjoyable. Should of had better graphics, but emulators and mods have helped that regard massively. Overall its a step in the right direction that scarlet and violet (S&V) were supposed to further go on, but S&V have its own issues, and didnt really progress much. I think its a solid game, 7.4/10
I used to think this game was trash and a half ass attempt at giving us the open world game we’ve always been wanting but I’ve definitely grown to appreciate it more over time…
IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN! or atleast with my skill issue back in my day we had 8 gyms, elite 4, champion, a balanced story, a clear goal, a evil team and overall A STRUCTURE. in this game your running around 100miles per second with your pants on fire fighting boss after boss getting subplot after subplot WITH NO END until you 100% the pokedex!
gameplay > grafics not excusing gamefreak in any way, we really should expect better from the worlds highest grossing video game franchise, but legends arceus wasn't really that hindered by it's grafics
If you remember it as the worst game to ever be named pokemon then yes. Well, not worst. There's still those vomit inducing ranger games. But past that, worst
Why? Wrong. Nothing you say will convince me the game was never good. Unless you talk about the fact that there’s nothing to do once you’ve beaten the game. I bet you couldn’t get past the tutorial. Ok that’s fair, the tutorials have gotten longer in recent games which does suck. I won’t agree with anything else you say. I feel like is inhumane and completely alien to like this game. So many people thought this would be a modern Pokémon game that tries some interesting things for once but then we get people like you. (And verlisify)
I started replaying it since having a back injury. It's been so fun. I hope the new legends game holds a candle to it.
Yesterday is the past y'all. A game from 2022 is a game from the past.

"as good as we remember"? the game isn't even 3 years old yet lol
This Palworld update goes crazy

my favorite pokemon game
There’s some gameplay that looks fun, but I barely made it through like 2 hours and got bored. It was too slow for me. Still excited for ZA though

I thought the game played fun and was a good idea overall but the graphics were a let down for sure
Bit soon from release to call it a game of the past

i would have enjoyed it a lot more if it looked good

Impossible to win? Really? And most of the "subplot after subplot" pointed towards the main plot. I don't think this critique was very thought out
I feel like a game has to be at least 25 years before you “see if it holds up”
Only if the graphics are good... I am not talking about artstyle btw.
