Paul McCartney is my favourite but l like very much and appreciate George Harrison songs he was a great musician and songwriter guitarist just he was unlucky to be in the same band with the 2 greatest songwriters
@@zdvxr Here comes the Sun, Something, While my Guitar Gently Weeps are certainly in the top 30 of Beatles songs. That’s it though. Taxman, Old Brown Shoe, Long, Long Long Long, It’s all Too Much, If I Needed Someone and I Need You are very good too. (BTW, John and Paul also helped make those songs what they are by their input). Paul’s Bass on Something is phenomenal. But John and Paul, both together and separately have about 75 incredible songs and another 50 very good ones.
I mean he was far from perfect he was a womaniser and couldn't get keep his hands off other people's wives which doesn't make him evil but he was no saint
I wish you would have discussed that George was the first Beatle to convert to being a vegetarian back in the early 60's. Paul & John also became vegetarians later on. He was an animal rights supporter & Greenpeace advocate as well, thank you Sir George.
It seems the Beatles didn’t have charmed lives what with Lennon being murdered and Harrison attacked and both dying so young. I got to see the song Hey Jude as they recorded it and it is still my favorite song by them
Something is a beautiful song. Any woman would be so lucky to have that song written about her. I have loved George for 58 years. When I saw his big smile and his big, brown velvety eyes, I was hooked. He organized the first concert for charity. That was amazing. I always loved the songs George wrote and his voice was beautiful. His spiritualism was often the subject of his music. He was a very talented man. We were lucky to have him. Rest In Peace, George. You are truly loved and missed. ❤️🌹❤️
I've had a My Sweet Lord earworm for 2-3 days now, and I don't mind one bit. It could be much worse. Love ya George and will see you one day soon enough.
Neil Innes can be seen in the Monty Python Pirate sketch with George. He later went on to play Ron Nasty (based on John Lennon) alongside Eric Idle as Dirk McQuickly (Paul McCartney) in The Rutles.
That's story about Phil Collins! I remember hearing an interview with him regarding him playing for George Harrison. I'm just glad they ended up having respect for each other in the end.
EMI was a humongous giant in the music business for a great many decades and you called it EIM. A massive GIANT and you can't get three letters straight. EMI !!!
Wow did that ever make me smile. Harrison was such a real, truly good person. I was expecting trash talk or negativity. The fact that that Indian guy talked shit how he didnt play the instrument right..well usually people would trash talk back. Instead he went in open minded. Just shows what a great person he was.
George Harrison's interest in Indian music began during the filming of The Beatles movie in Help!, he didn't act on until the fiasco in the Philippines in 1966, with a stopover in India. When John Lennon needed something extra for Norwegian Wood, it was George that picked out some notes on his sitar. Making it the first time an eastern instrument was used on a western song, definitely a first on a rock and roll album. George Harrison was an innovator like his former band mates Lennon and McCartney.
George was 3 months younger than Jimi Hendrix George got his first Guitar in 1956 and his band stopped touring in 66 after taking the World.. jimi hendrix started touring in 1967.. How About That:::
I was amazed to find out that George was 15 when he was recruited to play lead guitar for The Quarrymen (became The Beatles). Paul was 16. I think of what I was doing at 15🙄
A lot of people love talking about john lennon being a shit person but never mention george sleeping with ringos's wife behind his back. That is the lowest thing you can do to a friend. I know ringo forgave him but it's still a shitty thing to do. Also ringo was a wife beater and a drunk but it never gets mentioned. Just johns seems to get dragged even tho all the beatles were not perfect people
It never gets mentioned coz Ringo and Maureen's marriage was already over at that time and Ringo was having an affair already... He wasn't even bothered about it... George was having a lot of troubles with his life back in 76-78... His health wasn't good, his throat was a disaster, Pattie left him for Eric, Warner Bros was was messing with him...etc.. so, yeah he also messed up with his life... But the thing is, George and Ringo's friendship was bigger than anything... George always backed Ringo and so did Ringo.... That's why there's is nothing to talk about... it's not a crime to submerge a sinking ship...
Two consenting adults, Maureen and George. Perhaps Maureen and Ringo were through by that time so Maureen wasn't committing adultery and George wasn't betraying a friend.

If John and George had not gotten so involved in these causes, we likely would have had 3 or 4 more Beatles albums. Most of Harrison's work subsequent to the Beatles was, at worst, forgettable or mediocre at best.
What is your favorite George Harrison song?
"It's All Too Much" and "Your Love Is Forever". Co-faves!
If I Needed Someone, If Not For You, All Those Years Ago and Dark Horse, can't choose. ❤️
@@julianaylor4351 Agree. His worst was great!

My favorites are Don't Bother Me, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Here Comes The Sun, Old Brown Shoe, Something, This Is Love, and All Those Years Ago.
the youngest beatle, RIP George Harrison
The BEST beatle…in my humble opinion anyway. RIP George
George had such a gentle & beautiful soul. May he have eternal peace.
It was epic when Tom Petty and Prince did "My Guitar Gently Weeps" at the Rock and roll Hall of Fame in remembrance of him.
George is my favourite Beatle for sure, and he will be missed…
He is very impressive . Not the favourite but like him a lot

George Harrison was a sweet 🎂❤️🎉 soul. Rip, George. 😇 ❤️ 🌹 🍀
Always loved his comment on why he gave money to the Pythons. "I wanted to see the movie."
George had the best solo record out of all of the the Beatles ... Hands down
He also has arguably some of the best Beatles songs
Band on the Run is at least as good, probably better. Paul is a significantly better singer than George. Keep it real.
Lol best solo records, not even close

John was never a vegetarian. Ringo became a vegetarian shortly after George did, and then Paul became a vegetarian in the mid 70s.
Lmao Greenpeace is a huge joke

Only 58, MGBY George Harrison❤️ What an accomplished life and great song artist! It’s All Too Much….
George was my favorite Beatle
My favorite of the Beatles.
Rest in peace George , he's solo was equally successful as his band mates but he deserved more popularity , he was definitely most handsome.
