    I know A LOT of people hate this line because they are not 100% "Classic" designs, but at 40 years old, I am having a blast collecting these!!! The overall silhouette and essence of the characters are still there, and that's what is important. They are new, updated, and more tactical, with sci-fi thrown in just like the original show (Blue lasers VS Red Lasers). Can't wait for more, although the distribution of these figures are pretty terrible, and that's probably on purpose.

    • @brianng8350
      @brianng8350 Před 3 lety

      Even with the lights, Snake eyes is so hard to see on video, but the silhouette is magnificent! But the ab joint is terrible. I will pick it up with I see it in my local stores, but I am not going to pay 2nd market price. Hopefully, they will re-release this (assume the movie does well and the toys are selling), and fix or improve on things even more. I wonder if they can do a backpack with straps instead of using the traditional peghole? Hasbro has improved a lot on the belts and stuff -maybe even individual grenades. Or a backpack that will open up with extra knives or masks or spare parts. Of course, it will be more expenseive with all the small details.

      I never had any Joes as a kid as my mom didn't like the idea of the more realistic war toys at the time as my grandpa was a WWII POW and war stories always terrified her because of the horrors he went through, though I thankfully heard a lot of amazing war stories from him over the years and gained a lot of respect for him. But I always wanted Joes, especially Snake Eyes. I did get to play with other kids' figures at times, and I did watch the cartoon as a kid as it felt more sci-fi to my mom than the initial figures did (I also saw films like First Blood Part 2 on TV as a kid, which is odd but I think she had loosened up on the "no playing or watching 'real' war" a little by then).
      I just randomly found this Snake Eyes mint in box at a flea market store for $20 and just ordered a Storm Shadow on amazon to stand beside him. It has hit all the right nostalgia buttons! I'd love some vintage Joes but ones like Snake Eyes are way too expensive. I'd also love "Retro Collection" style reproductions of the originals as it's the only way I might ever get close to having the originals.

    I call G.I.JOE CLASSIFIED SERIES my "No Regrets" collection.
    Over the years, as far back as when I was a little kid, I've got rid of many wonderful and amazing toys. From "growing up" for a few years, to garage sales, to pass them along to family and friends, to having to sell some to pay some of life's bills, I wish I could have kept so many of them.
    When CLASSIFIED was announced, I made a promise to myself that I would get as many as I can (1 to open, one to keep for myself in the package) for as long as this series lasts.
    They're not perfect, but even by Wave 2 and the exclusives, I'm already seeing major signs of improvement.
    And I truly feel that in 2022, if the line can remain as hot as it is, that we will definitely be seeing some ARAH - inspired designs for its 40th Anniversary.
    Yo Joe and Nerdmaste!

    Your very welcome Sir! 😁 Sorry he has the loose abs, I got lucky with mine, he isn't loose, though my knife sheath is the same. Overall I think this is a splendid figure, and a nice homage to the 85 version, with a bit of later versions mixed in. Thanks for the great review, look forward the next one! NERDMASTÉ!

    I very randomly found a mint in box of this at a local flea market style store for $20. Bought it because of this review and I LOVE it! I thankfully had none of the problems you have and he looks BA posed in front of me now. Had to go to Amazon and get the Storm Shadow right after. I'm not the biggest fan of that Shadow design (I'd rather it be all or mostly white), but it's still only $20 and Snake Eyes needed a nemesis next to him. I can't afford to get a lot of these (and especially not the original figures which I would love to have since I was never allowed to get them as a kid) but Snake Eyes was just too cool to not get.

    There may not be a Joe lawyer, but there was an accountant in the IDW comics called Spreadsheet. He was based on novelist and self-styled "gun nut" Larry Correia who was an accountant at one point and also a military contractor, gun store owner, and firearms instructor. I believe he is friends with comics writer Chuck Dixon and Chuck made him a Joe.

    The knife is an issue on mine too. It’s not on the deluxe for some reason. And yes the gun can peg into the pistol in the holster. Great review! I was solely a vintage guy, but now I’m totally smitten with the classified line. When you get Roadblock, swap out the weird weapon he comes with for the 50 cal from the old Coleco Rambo line. The sword blade should be a nice chrome silver (easily fixed) and I'd much prefer the gun to be an Uzi, that gun never goes out of style. Otherwise, he looks like Snake Eyes, paint job is excellent which is tricky on anything all black, pose-ability is great minus the diaphragm joint.

    Snake Eyes is awesome! No, the mold is off on the knife sheath. Many of the earlier ones had the problem of the fit for the knife. I think the hole in the bandolier is for putting the sheath on the back. It does ride high. The pegs for the back packs are just a bit too narrow so they fall off if bumped. Tweaking is needed.

    Pleased to see your review Michael love what you do and recommend you to all my fellow collectors. I love this line and the return of Hasbro GI Joe in general. I emailed Hasbro Consumer multiple times in early 2019 suggesting a 1:12 gi oe line noting the natural segway from Marvel Legend molds! I wasn't sure what they'd come up with but i was excited when pics of the 1st wave leaked online. Naturally i preordered one of each the day they dropped after Toy Fair. No they're not exact interpretations of OG 80's figures but i think they nicely meshed classic with modern to attract New fans while catering to faithful collectors. Looking forward to your next Joe review, peace!

Hasbro would definitely replace it for you, even if it was a gift from a viewer. You're popular enough that they shouldn't and wouldn't want you toting around a bad product. That's just my opinion.
